Esias 47
1 Come down, sit on the ground, O virgin daughter of Babylon: sit on the ground, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for you shall no more be called tender and luxurious.
Coboară şi şezi în ţărână, fiică fecioară a Babilonului, şezi pe pământ; nu este tron, fiică a caldeilor, căci nu te vei mai numi plăpândă şi delicată.
2 Take a millstone, grind meal: remove your veil, uncover your white hairs, make bare the leg, pass through the rivers.
Ia pietrele de moară şi macină făină, descoperă-ţi şuviţele, dezgoleşte-ţi piciorul, descoperă-ţi coapsa, treci râurile.
3 Your shame shall be uncovered, your reproaches shall be brought to light: I will exact of you due vengeance, I will no longer deliver you to men.
Goliciunea ta va fi descoperită, da, ruşinea ta va fi văzută; mă voi răzbuna şi nu te voi întâlni ca un om.
4 Your deliverer is the Lord of hosts, the Holy One of Israel is his name.
Cât despre răscumpărătorul nostru, DOMNUL oştirilor este numele său, Cel Sfânt al lui Israel.
5 Sit you down pierced with woe, go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: you shall no more be called the strength of a kingdom.
Şezi tăcută şi du-te în întuneric, fiică a caldeilor, fiindcă nu te vei mai numi: Doamna împărăţiilor.
6 I have been provoked with my people; you have defiled mine inheritance: I gave them into your hand, but you did not extend mercy to them: you made the yoke of the aged man very heavy,
M-am înfuriat pe poporul meu, am pângărit moştenirea mea şi i-am dat în mâna ta; iar tu nu le-ai arătat milă, peste cei bătrâni ai apăsat foarte mult jugul tău.
7 and said, I shall be a princess for ever: you did not perceive these things in your heart, nor did you remember the latter end.
Şi tu spui: Voi fi o doamnă pentru totdeauna, astfel nu ţi-ai pus acestea la inimă, nici nu ţi-ai amintit sfârşitul acesteia.
8 But now hear these words, you luxurious one, [who are] the one that sits [at ease], that is secure, that says in her heart, I am, and there is not another; I shall not sit a widow, neither shall I know bereavement.
De aceea ascultă acum, cea dedată plăcerilor, care locuieşti fără grijă, care spui în inima ta: Eu sunt şi nu este alta în afară de mine, nu voi şedea ca o văduvă, nici nu voi cunoaşte pierderea de copii;
9 But now these two things shall come upon you suddenly in one day, the loss of children and widowhood shall come suddenly upon you, for your sorcery, for the strength of your enchantments,
Dar aceste două lucruri vor veni la tine într-o clipă, într-o singură zi, pierderea de copii şi văduvia; vor veni peste tine în desăvârşirea lor din cauza mulţimii vrăjitoriilor tale şi pentru marele număr al farmecelor tale.
10 for your trusting in wickedness: for you said, I am, and there is not another: know you, the understanding of these things and your harlotry shall be your shame; for you said in your heart, I am, and there is not another.
Fiindcă te-ai încrezut în stricăciunea ta, ai spus: Nimeni nu mă vede. Înţelepciunea şi cunoaşterea ta te-au pervertit; şi ai spus în inima ta: Eu sunt şi nu este alta în afară de mine.
11 And destruction shall come upon you, and you shall not be aware; [there shall be a] pit, and you shall fall into it: and grief shall come upon you, and you shall not be able to be clear; and destruction shall come suddenly upon you, and you shall not know.
De aceea răul va veni peste tine; nu vei şti de unde se ridică, şi nenorocirea va cădea peste tine; nu vei fi în stare să o dai jos, şi dintr-odată va veni peste tine pustiire pe care nu ai cunoscut-o.
12 Stand now with your enchantments, and with the abundance of your sorcery, which you have learned from your youth; if you can be profited.
Stai acum cu farmecele tale şi cu mulţimea vrăjitoriilor tale, în care ai ostenit din tinereţea ta; dacă astfel vei trage vreun folos, dacă astfel vei putea învinge.
13 You are wearied in your counsels. Let now the astrologers of the heaven stand and deliver you, let them that see the stars tell you what is about to come upon you.
Eşti obosită de mulţimea sfaturilor tale. Să se ridice în picioare acum astrologii, privitorii la stele, prezicătorii după lună şi să te salveze de cele ce vor veni peste tine.
14 Behold, they all shall be burnt up as sticks in the fire; neither shall they at all deliver their life from the flame. Because you have coals of fire, sit you upon them;
Iată, vor fi ca mirişte; focul îi va arde; nu se vor elibera din puterea flăcării, nu va fi cărbune la care să se încălzească, nici foc pentru a sta înaintea lui.
15 these shall be your help. You have wearied yourself with traffic from your youth: every man has wandered to his own home, but you shall have no deliverance.
Astfel îţi vor fi aceia cu care te-ai ostenit, comercianţii din tinereţea ta; se va duce fiecare la ale lui; nimeni nu te va salva.
