Esias 46
1 Bel has fallen, Nabo is broken to pieces, their graven images are gone to the wild beasts and the cattle: you take them packed up as a burden to the weary, exhausted, hungry, and [at the same time] helpless man;
Já Bel abatido está, já Nebo se encurvou, os seus ídolos são postos sobre os animais e sobre as bestas: as cargas dos vossos fardos são canceira para as bestas já cançadas.
2 who will not be able to save themselves from war, but they themselves are led [away] captive.
Juntamente se encurvaram e se abateram; não puderam escapar da carga, mas a sua alma entrou em cativeiro.
3 Hear me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of Israel, who are borne [by me] from the womb, and taught [by me] from infancy, [even] to old age:
Ouvi-me, ó casa de Jacob, e todo o resíduo da casa de Israel; vós a quem trouxe nos braços desde o ventre, e levei desde a madre.
4 I am [he]; and until you shall have grown old, I am [he]: I bear you, I have made, and I will relieve, I will take up and save you.
E até à velhice eu serei o mesmo, e ainda até às cãs eu vos trarei: eu o fiz, e eu vos levarei, e eu vos trarei, e vos guardarei.
5 To whom have you compared me? see, consider, you that go astray.
A quem me fareis semelhante, e com quem me igualareis, e me comparareis, para que sejamos semelhantes?
6 They that furnish gold out of a purse, and silver by weight, will weigh it in a scale, and they hire a goldsmith and make idols, and bow down, and worship them.
Gastam o ouro da bolsa, e pesam a prata com as balanças: alugam o ourives, e daquilo faz um deus, e diante dele se prostram e se inclinam.
7 They bear it upon the shoulder, and go; and if they put it upon its place, it remains, it can’t move: and whoever shall cry to it, it can’t hear; it can’t save him from trouble.
Sobre os ombros o tomam, o levam, e o põem no seu lugar; ali está em pé, do seu lugar não se move: e, se alguém clama a ele, resposta nenhuma dá, nem o livra da sua tribulação.
8 Remember you these things, and groan: repent, you that have gone astray, return in your heart;
Lembrai-vos disto, e tende ânimo: reconduzi-o ao coração, ó prevaricadores.
9 and remember the former things [that were] of old: for I am God, and there is none other beside me,
Lembrai-vos das coisas passadas desde a antiguidade: que eu sou Deus, e não há outro Deus, não há outro semelhante a mim;
10 telling beforehand the latter events before they come to pass, and they are accomplished together: and I said, all my counsel shall stand, and I will do all things that I have planned:
Que anuncío o fim desde o princípio, e desde a antiguidade as coisas que ainda não sucederam; que digo: O meu conselho será firme, e farei toda a minha vontade;
11 calling a bird from the east, and from a land afar off, for the things which I have planned: I have spoken, and brought [him]; I have created and made [him]; I have brought him, and prospered his way.
Que chamo a ave de rapina desde o oriente, e o homem do meu conselho desde terras remotas; porque assim o disse, e assim o farei vir; eu o formei, e também o farei.
12 Listen to me, you senseless ones, that are far from righteousness:
Ouvi-me, ó duros de coração, os que estais longe da justiça.
13 I have brought near my righteousness, and I will not be slow with the salvation that is from me: I have given salvation in Sion to Israel for glory.
Faço chegar a minha justiça, e não estará ao longe, e a minha salvação não tardará: mas estabelecerei em Sião a salvação, e em Israel a minha glória.
