< Esias 31 >
1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, who trust in horses and chariots, for they are many; and in horses, [which are] a great multitude; and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought the Lord.
2 Therefore he has wisely brought evils upon them, and his word shall not be frustrated; and he shall rise up against the houses of wicked men, and against their vain hope,
No rĩrĩ, o nake Jehova nĩ mũũgĩ na no amarehithĩrie mwanangĩko, nĩgũkorwo ndericũkagwo ũrĩa oigĩte. We nĩakarahũka okĩrĩre nyũmba ya andũ arĩa aaganu, na okĩrĩre arĩa mateithagĩrĩria andũ arĩa mekaga maũndũ mooru.
3 [even] an Egyptian, a man, and not God; the flesh of horses, and there is no help [in them]: but the Lord shall bring his hand upon them, and the helpers shall fail, and all shall perish together.
No rĩrĩ, andũ a Misiri no andũ tu, na ti Mũrungu; nacio mbarathi ciao no nyama na itirĩ roho thĩinĩ wacio. Rĩrĩa Jehova aatambũrũkia guoko gwake, ũcio ũteithanagia nĩahĩngagwo, na ũcio ũteithagio nĩagũũaga; nao eerĩ makaaniinwo hamwe.
4 For thus said the Lord to me, As a lion would roar, or a lion's whelp over prey which he has taken, and cry over it, until the mountains are filled with his voice, and [the animals] are awe-struck and tremble at the fierceness of his wrath: so the Lord of hosts shall descend to fight upon the mount Sion, [even] upon her mountains.
Jehova anjĩĩrĩte atĩrĩ: “O ta ũrĩa mũrũũthi ũraramaga, mũrũũthi njamba ũkĩrĩa nyamũ ĩrĩa ũnyiitĩte, na ndũmakagio nĩ mĩgambo ya arĩithi o na mokĩte marĩ gĩkundi kĩnene metĩtwo hamwe nĩguo maũũkĩrĩre, kana wĩtigĩre nĩ ũndũ wa inegene rĩao-rĩ, ũguo noguo Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe agaikũrũka, arũe arĩ kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩa Zayuni, o na ciambatĩro ciakĩo.
5 As birds flying, so shall the Lord of hosts defend; he shall defend Jerusalem, and he shall rescue, and save and deliver.
O ta ũrĩa nyoni ĩreeraga rĩera-inĩ, ũguo noguo Jehova Mwene-Hinya-Wothe akaagitĩra itũũra rĩa Jerusalemu; akaarĩgitĩra na arĩkũũre, ‘akaahĩtũkĩra igũrũ rĩa rĩo’ nĩguo arĩhonokie.”
6 Turn, you children of Israel, who devise a deep and sinful counsel.
Inyuĩ andũ a Isiraeli-rĩ, cookererai ũcio mũtũire mũremeire mũno.
7 For in that day men shall renounce their silver idols and [their] golden idols, which their hands made.
Nĩgũkorwo mũthenya ũcio o mũndũ wanyu nĩagatee mĩhianano ya betha na ya thahabu ĩrĩa mwĩthondekeire na moko manyu ĩgatũma mwĩhie.
8 And the Assyrian shall fall: not the sword of a great man, nor the sword of a mean man shall devour him; neither shall he flee from the face of the sword: but the young men shall be overthrown:
“Andũ a Ashuri makooragwo na rũhiũ rwa njora no ti rwa mũndũ; rũhiũ rwa njora nĩruo rũkaamaniina biũ, no ti rwa andũ. Nĩmakoorĩra rũhiũ rũu rwa njora, na aanake ao makaanyiitwo, marutithio wĩra na hinya.
9 for they shall be compassed with rocks as with a trench, and shall be worsted; and he that flees shall be taken. Thus says the Lord, Blesses is he that has a seed in Sion, and household friends in Jerusalem.
Nacio ciĩhitho ciao cia hinya nĩikaagũa nĩ ũndũ wa guoya; nao anene ao a ita moona bendera ya ita nĩmakamaka mũno,” ũguo nĩguo Jehova ekuuga, ũrĩa wakĩtie mwaki wake Zayuni, o na icua rĩake rĩa mwaki rĩrĩ kũu Jerusalemu.
