Esias 31
1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, who trust in horses and chariots, for they are many; and in horses, [which are] a great multitude; and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought the Lord.
১ধিক তাদেরকে যারা সাহায্যের জন্য মিশরে যায় এবং ঘোড়ার উপরে ও তাদের অসংখ্য রথের উপর ও অশ্বারোহীদের উপর নির্ভর করে, কিন্তু তারা ইস্রায়েলের সেই পবিত্র এক জনের দিকে তাকায় না এবং সদাপ্রভুর খোঁজ করে না।
2 Therefore he has wisely brought evils upon them, and his word shall not be frustrated; and he shall rise up against the houses of wicked men, and against their vain hope,
২তবুও তিনি জ্ঞানী এবং তিনি দুর্যোগ আনবেন ও তাঁর কথা তিনি ফিরিয়ে নেবেন না এবং তিনি মন্দ গৃহের ও সাহায্যকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে যারা পাপ করে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে উঠবেন।
3 [even] an Egyptian, a man, and not God; the flesh of horses, and there is no help [in them]: but the Lord shall bring his hand upon them, and the helpers shall fail, and all shall perish together.
৩মিশর একটি মানুষ ঈশ্বর নয়, তাদের সেই ঘোড়াগুলোর মাংস আত্মা নয়। সদাপ্রভু যখন তাঁর হাত বার করবে, উভয়ে যে সাহায্য করে সে হোঁচট খাবে, আর যে সাহায্য পায় সে পতিত হবে; উভয় একসঙ্গে বিনষ্ট হবে।
4 For thus said the Lord to me, As a lion would roar, or a lion's whelp over prey which he has taken, and cry over it, until the mountains are filled with his voice, and [the animals] are awe-struck and tremble at the fierceness of his wrath: so the Lord of hosts shall descend to fight upon the mount Sion, [even] upon her mountains.
৪সদাপ্রভু আমাকে এই কথা বলছেন, যেমন একটি সিংহ, এমনকি একটি যুবসিংহ, তার শত্রু শিকারে পরিণত হয়, যখন মেষপালকদের একটি দল একটি বিরুদ্ধে আর একটি বলে। কিন্তু তাদের কন্ঠ কাঁপে না আর তাদের শব্দ থেকে দূরে সরে না; ঠিক তেমনি করে বাহিনীদের সদাপ্রভু যুদ্ধ করবার জন্য সিয়োন পাহাড় ও তার উঁচু পর্বতে নেমে আসবেন।
5 As birds flying, so shall the Lord of hosts defend; he shall defend Jerusalem, and he shall rescue, and save and deliver.
৫উড়ন্ত পাখির মত, তাই বাহিনীদের সদাপ্রভু তেমনি করে যিরূশালেমকে রক্ষা করবেন। তিনি তাকে ঢেকে রাখবেন ও উদ্ধার করবেন, আর তার উপর দিয়ে গিয়ে তাকে সংরক্ষণ করবেন।
6 Turn, you children of Israel, who devise a deep and sinful counsel.
৬হে ইস্রায়েলীয়েরা, তোমরা যাঁর কাছ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছ তাঁর দিকে ফিরে যাও।
7 For in that day men shall renounce their silver idols and [their] golden idols, which their hands made.
৭কারণ সেদিন তোমরা প্রত্যেকেই রৌপ্য মূর্ত্তি পরিত্যাগ করবে এবং তারা নিজের হাতেই সোনার মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করে পাপী হয়েছ।
8 And the Assyrian shall fall: not the sword of a great man, nor the sword of a mean man shall devour him; neither shall he flee from the face of the sword: but the young men shall be overthrown:
৮অশূর তরোয়ালের দ্বারা পতিত হবে, “মানুষের দ্বারা চালিত, সে সেই তরোয়াল থেকে পালিয়ে যাবেন এবং তার লোকেরা তরোয়ালের।
9 for they shall be compassed with rocks as with a trench, and shall be worsted; and he that flees shall be taken. Thus says the Lord, Blesses is he that has a seed in Sion, and household friends in Jerusalem.
৯তারা সন্ত্রাসের কারণে তারা বিশ্বাস হারিয়েছে এবং তার সেনাপতিরা সদাপ্রভুর পতাকা দেখে ভয় পাবে।” সদাপ্রভুই এই কথা বলছেন, সিয়োনে যাঁর আগুন আছে, আর যিরূশালেমে আছে আগুনের পাত্র।
