< Osee 12 >

1 But Ephraim is an evil spirit, he has chased the east wind all the day: he has multiplied empty and vain things, and made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil has gone in the way of traffic into Egypt.
Efraimu ń jẹ afẹ́fẹ́; o ń lépa afẹ́fẹ́ ìwọ̀-oòrùn ní gbogbo ọjọ́. O sì ń gbèrú nínú irọ́ o dá májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú Asiria o sì fi òróró olifi ránṣẹ́ sí Ejibiti.
2 And the Lord [has] a controversy with Juda, in order to punish Jacob: according to his ways and according to his practices will he recompense him.
Olúwa ní ẹjọ́ kan tí yóò bá Juda rò, yóò fì ìyà jẹ Jakọbu gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀nà rẹ̀ yóò sì sán fún un gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ìṣe rẹ̀.
3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his labors he had power with God.
Láti inú oyún ni ó ti di arákùnrin rẹ̀ mú ni gìgísẹ̀, àti nípa ipá rẹ̀ ó ni agbára pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́run
4 And he prevailed with the angel and was strong: they wept, and entreated me: they found me in the house of On, and there [a word] was spoken to them.
Ó bá angẹli ja ìjàkadì, ó sì borí rẹ̀, o sọkún, ó sì bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún ojúrere rẹ̀. Ó bá Olúwa ní Beteli, Ó sì bá a sọ̀rọ̀ níbẹ̀,
5 But the Lord God Almighty shall be his memorial.
àní Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ-ogun; Olúwa ni orúkọ ìrántí rẹ̀.
6 You therefore shall return to your God: keep you mercy and judgment, and draw near to your God continually.
Ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ gbọdọ̀ padà sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run rẹ̀; di ìfẹ́ àti ìdájọ́ òdodo mú kí ẹ sì dúró de Ọlọ́run yín nígbà gbogbo.
7 [As for] Chanaan, in his hand is a balance of unrighteousness: he has loved to tyrannize.
Oníṣòwò ń lo òsùwọ̀n èké o fẹ́ràn láti rẹ́ ni jẹ.
8 And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment to myself. None of his labors shall be found [available] to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.
Efraimu gbéraga, “Èmi ní ìní fún ara mi, mo sì ti di ọlọ́rọ̀, pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọrọ̀ mi yìí, wọn kò le ká àìṣedéédéé tàbí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ kankan mọ́ mi lọ́wọ́.”
9 But I the Lord your God brought you up out of the land of Egypt: I will yet cause you to dwell in tabernacles, according to the days of the feast.
“Èmi ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ; ẹni tí ó mu ọ jáde wá láti ilẹ̀ Ejibiti; èmi yóò tún mú yín gbé nínú àgọ́ bí i ọjọ́ àjọ̀dún tí a yàn wọ̀n-ọn-nì.
10 And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.
Mo sọ fún àwọn wòlíì, mo fi ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìran hàn wọ́n mo sì pa òwe láti ẹnu wòlíì wọn.”
11 If Galaad exists not, then the chiefs in Galaad when they sacrificed were false, and their altars were as heaps on the ground of the field.
Gileadi ha burú bí? Àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ jẹ́ asán. Ǹjẹ́ wọ́n ń fi akọ màlúù rú ẹbọ ní Gilgali? Gbogbo pẹpẹ wọ́n sì dàbí ebè nínú aporo oko.
12 And Jacob retreated into the plain of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and waited for a wife.
Jakọbu sálọ si orílẹ̀-èdè Aramu; Israẹli sìn kí o tó fẹ́ ìyàwó ó ṣe ìtọ́jú ẹran láti fi san owó ìyàwó.
13 And the Lord brought Israel out of the land of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet was he preserve.
Olúwa lo wòlíì kan láti mú Israẹli jáde wá láti Ejibiti, nípasẹ̀ wòlíì kan ó ṣe ìtọ́jú rẹ̀.
14 Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.
Ṣùgbọ́n Efraimu ti mú un bínú gidigidi; Olúwa rẹ̀ yóò sì fi ẹ̀bi ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ sí orí rẹ̀ òun yóò sì san án padà fún un nítorí ìwà ẹ̀gàn an rẹ̀.
