Osee 12

1 But Ephraim is an evil spirit, he has chased the east wind all the day: he has multiplied empty and vain things, and made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil has gone in the way of traffic into Egypt.

۱ افرایم باد را می‌خورد و باد شرقی راتعاقب می‌کند. تمامی روز دروغ وخرابی را می‌افزاید و ایشان با آشور عهد می‌بندندو روغن (به جهت هدیه ) به مصر برده می‌شود.

2 And the Lord [has] a controversy with Juda, in order to punish Jacob: according to his ways and according to his practices will he recompense him.

۲ خداوند را با یهودا مخاصمه‌ای است و یعقوب را برحسب راههایش عقوبت رسانیده، بر وفق اعمالش او را جزا خواهد داد.

3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his labors he had power with God.

۳ او پاشنه برادرخود را در رحم گرفت و در حین قوتش با خدامجاهده نمود.

4 And he prevailed with the angel and was strong: they wept, and entreated me: they found me in the house of On, and there [a word] was spoken to them.

۴ با فرشته مجاهده نموده، غالب آمد. گریان شده، نزد وی تضرع نمود. دربیت ئیل او را یافت و در آنجا با ما تکلم نمود.

5 But the Lord God Almighty shall be his memorial.

۵ اما خداوند، خدای لشکرهاست و یادگاری او یهوه است.

6 You therefore shall return to your God: keep you mercy and judgment, and draw near to your God continually.

۶ اما تو بسوی خدای خودبازگشت نما و رحمت و راستی را نگاه داشته، دائم منتظر خدای خود باش.

7 [As for] Chanaan, in his hand is a balance of unrighteousness: he has loved to tyrannize.

۷ او سوداگری است که میزان فریب در دست او می‌باشد وظلم را دوست می‌دارد.

8 And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment to myself. None of his labors shall be found [available] to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.

۸ و افرایم می‌گوید: «به درستی که دولتمند شده‌ام و توانگری رابرای خود تحصیل نموده‌ام و در تمامی کسب من بی‌انصافی‌ای که گناه باشد، در من نخواهند یافت.»

9 But I the Lord your God brought you up out of the land of Egypt: I will yet cause you to dwell in tabernacles, according to the days of the feast.

۹ اما من از زمین مصر (تا حال )یهوه خدای تو هستم و تو را بار دیگر مثل ایام مواسم در خیمه‌ها ساکن خواهم گردانید.

10 And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.

۱۰ به انبیا نیز تکلم نمودم و رویاها افزودم وبواسطه انبیا مثل‌ها زدم.

11 If Galaad exists not, then the chiefs in Galaad when they sacrificed were false, and their altars were as heaps on the ground of the field.

۱۱ به درستی که ایشان در جلعاد محض گناه و بطالت گردیدند و درجلجال گاوها قربانی کردند. و مذبح های ایشان نیز مثل توده های سنگ در شیارهای زمین می‌باشد.

12 And Jacob retreated into the plain of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and waited for a wife.

۱۲ و یعقوب به زمین ارام فرار کرد و اسرائیل به جهت زن خدمت نمود و برای زن شبانی کرد.

13 And the Lord brought Israel out of the land of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet was he preserve.

۱۳ و خداوند اسرائیل را بواسطه نبی از مصربرآورد و او به‌دست نبی محفوظ گردید.

14 Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.

۱۴ افرایم خشم بسیار تلخی به هیجان آورد، پس خداوندش خون او را بر سرش واگذاشت و عار اورا بر وی رد نمود.
