Genesis 40
1 And it came to pass after these things, that the chief cupbearer of the king of Egypt and the chief baker trespassed against their lord the king of Egypt.
इन बातों के बाद यूँ हुआ कि शाह ए — मिस्र का साकी और नानपज़ अपने ख़ुदावन्द शाह — ए — मिस्र के मुजरिम हुए।
2 And Pharao was angry with his two eunuchs, with his chief cupbearer, and with his chief baker.
और फ़िर'औन अपने इन दोनों हाकिमों से जिनमें एक साकियों और दूसरा नानपज़ों का सरदार था, नाराज़ हो गया।
3 And he put them in ward, into the prison, into the place whereinto Joseph had been led.
और उसने इनको जिलौदारों के सरदार के घर में उसी जगह जहाँ यूसुफ़ हिरासत में था, क़ैद खाने में नज़रबन्द करा दिया।
4 And the chief keeper of the prison committed them to Joseph, and he stood by them; and they were [some] days in the prison.
जिलौदारों के सरदार ने उनको यूसुफ़ के हवाले किया, और वह उनकी ख़िदमत करने लगा और वह एक मुद्दत तक नज़रबन्द रहे।
5 And they both had a dream in one night; and the vision of the dream of the chief cupbearer and chief baker, who belonged to the king of Egypt, who were in the prison, was this.
और शाह — ए — मिस्र के साकी और नानपज़ दोनों ने, जो क़ैद खाने में नज़रबन्द थे एक ही रात में अपने — अपने होनहार के मुताबिक़ एक — एक ख़्वाब देखा।
6 Joseph went in to them in the morning, and saw them, and they had been troubled.
और यूसुफ़ सुबह को उनके पास अन्दर आया और देखा कि वह उदास हैं।
7 And he asked the eunuchs of Pharao who were with him in the prison with his master, saying, Why is it that your countenances are sad today?
और उसने फ़िर'औन के हाकिमों से जो उसके साथ उसके आक़ा के घर में नज़रबन्द थे, पूछा कि आज तुम क्यूँ ऐसे उदास नज़र आते हो?
8 And they said to him, We have seen a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, Is not the interpretation of them through god? tell [them] than to me.
उन्होंने उससे कहा, “हम ने एक ख़्वाब देखा है, जिसकी ता'बीर करने वाला कोई नहीं।” यूसुफ़ ने उनसे कहा, “क्या ता'बीर की कुदरत ख़ुदा को नहीं? मुझे ज़रा वह ख़्वाब बताओ।”
9 And the chief cupbearer related his dream to Joseph, and said, In my dream a vine was before me.
तब सरदार साकी ने अपना ख़्वाब यूसुफ़ से बयान किया। उसने कहा, “मैंने ख़्वाब में देखा कि अंगूर की बेल मेरे सामने है।
10 And in the vine [were] three stems; and it budding shot forth blossoms; the clusters of grapes were ripe.
और उस बेल में तीन शाखें हैं, और ऐसा दिखाई दिया कि उसमें कलियाँ लगीं और फूल आए और उसके सब गुच्छों में पक्के — पक्के अंगूर लगे।
11 And the cup of Pharao was in my hand; and I took the bunch of grapes, and squeezed it into the cup, and gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
और फ़िर'औन का प्याला मेरे हाथ में है, और मैंने उन अंगूरों को लेकर फ़िर'औन के प्याले में निचोड़ा और वह प्याला मैंने फ़िर'औन के हाथ में दिया।”
12 And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it. The three stems are three days.
यूसुफ़ ने उससे कहा, “इसकी ता'बीर यह है कि वह तीन शाखें तीन दिन हैं।
13 Yet three days and Pharao shall remember your office, and he shall restore you to your place of chief cupbearer, and you shall give the cup of Pharao into his hand, according to your former high place, as you were wont to be cupbearer.
इसलिए अब से तीन दिन के अन्दर फ़िर'औन तुझे सरफ़राज़ फ़रमाएगा, और तुझे फिर तेरे 'ओहदे पर बहाल कर देगा; और पहले की तरह जब तू उसका साकी था, प्याला फ़िर'औन के हाथ में दिया करेगा।
14 But remember me of yourself, when it shall be well with you, and you shall deal mercifully with me, and you shall make mention of me to Pharao, and you shall bring me forth out of this dungeon.
लेकिन जब तू ख़ुशहाल हो जाए तो मुझे याद करना और ज़रा मुझ से मेहरबानी से पेश आना, और फ़िर'औन से मेरा ज़िक्र करना और मुझे इस घर से छुटकारा दिलवाना।
15 For surely I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here I have done nothing, but they have cast me into this pit.
क्यूँकि इब्रानियों के मुल्क से मुझे चुरा कर ले आए हैं, और यहाँ भी मैंने ऐसा कोई काम नहीं किया जिसकी वजह से क़ैद खाने में डाला जाऊँ।”
16 And the chief baker saw that he interpreted aright; and he said to Joseph, I also saw a dream, and I thought I took up on my head three baskets of mealy food.
जब सरदार नानपज़ ने देखा कि ता'बीर अच्छी निकली तो यूसुफ़ से कहा, “मैंने भी ख़्वाब में देखा, कि मेरे सिर पर सफ़ेद रोटी की तीन टोकरियाँ हैं;
17 And in the upper basket there was the work of the baker of every kind which Pharao eats; and the fowls of the air ate them out of the basket that was on my head.
और ऊपर की टोकरी में हर क़िस्म का पका हुआ खाना फ़िर'औन के लिए है, और परिन्दे मेरे सिर पर की टोकरी में से खा रहे हैं।”
18 And Joseph answered and said to him, This is the interpretation of it; The three baskets are three days.
यूसुफ़ ने उसे कहा, “इसकी ता'बीर यह है कि वह तीन टोकरियाँ तीन दिन हैं।
19 Yet three days, and Pharao shall take away your head from off you, and shall hang you on a tree, and the birds of the sky shall eat your flesh from off you.
इसलिए अब से तीन दिन के अन्दर फ़िर'औन तेरा सिर तेरे तन से जुदा करा के तुझे एक दरख़्त पर टंगवा देगा, और परिन्दे तेरा गोश्त नोंच — नोंच कर खाएँगे।”
20 And it came to pass on the third day that it was Pharao's birth-day, and he made a banquet for all his servants, and he remembered the office of the cupbearer and the office of the baker in the midst of his servants.
और तीसरे दिन जो फ़िर'औन की सालगिरह का दिन था, यूँ हुआ कि उसने अपने सब नौकरों की दावत की और उसने सरदार साकी और सरदार नानपज़ को अपने नौकरों के साथ याद फ़रमाया।
21 And he restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
और उसने सरदार साकी को फिर उसकी ख़िदमत पर बहाल किया, और वह फ़िर'औन के हाथ में प्याला देने लगा।
22 And he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph, interpreted to them.
लेकिन उसने सरदार नानपज़ को फाँसी दिलवाई, जैसा यूसुफ़ ने ता'बीर करके उनको बताया था।
23 Yet did not the chief cupbearer remember Joseph, but forgot him.
लेकिन सरदार साकी ने यूसुफ़ को याद न किया बल्कि उसे भूल गया।
