< Genesis 40 >
1 And it came to pass after these things, that the chief cupbearer of the king of Egypt and the chief baker trespassed against their lord the king of Egypt.
Kana booddee namichi mootii Gibxiitiif dhugaatii dhiʼeessuu fi namichi buddeena tolchu gooftaa isaanii mootii Gibxi sana gaddisiisan.
2 And Pharao was angry with his two eunuchs, with his chief cupbearer, and with his chief baker.
Faraʼoonis qondaaltota isaa lamaanitti jechuunis itti gaafatamaa dhugaatiitii fi itti gaafatamaa tolchaa buddeenaatti aare;
3 And he put them in ward, into the prison, into the place whereinto Joseph had been led.
innis mana ajajaa waardiyyaa keessa mana hidhaa iddoo Yoosef itti hidhamee ture keessa isaan buuse.
4 And the chief keeper of the prison committed them to Joseph, and he stood by them; and they were [some] days in the prison.
Ajajaan waardiyyaa Yoosefitti isaan kenne; Yoosefis isaan tajaajilaa ture. Jarris guyyaa baayʼee mana hidhaa turan;
5 And they both had a dream in one night; and the vision of the dream of the chief cupbearer and chief baker, who belonged to the king of Egypt, who were in the prison, was this.
isaan lachanuu jechuunis namichi mootii Gibxiitiif dhugaatii dhiʼeessuu fi namichi buddeena tolchu tokkoon tokkoon isaanii halkanuma tokko keessatti abjuu abjootan; tokkoon tokkoon abjuu sanaas hiikkaa mataa isaa qaba ture.
6 Joseph went in to them in the morning, and saw them, and they had been troubled.
Yoosef guyyaa itti aanu ganama isaan bira dhaqe; kunoo utuu gaddanii jiranuus isaan arge.
7 And he asked the eunuchs of Pharao who were with him in the prison with his master, saying, Why is it that your countenances are sad today?
Innis, “Fuulli keessan harʼa maaliif akkana dukkanaaʼa?” jedhee qondaaltota Faraʼoon warra isa wajjin mana gooftaa isaa keessa mana hidhaa turan sana gaafate.
8 And they said to him, We have seen a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, Is not the interpretation of them through god? tell [them] than to me.
Isaanis, “Nu lachuu abjuu abjoonnee nama nuu hiiku dhabne” jedhaniin. Kana irratti Yoosef, “Hiikkaan kan Waaqaa ti mitii? Mee abjuu keessan natti himaa” jedheen.
9 And the chief cupbearer related his dream to Joseph, and said, In my dream a vine was before me.
Itti gaafatamaan dhugaatii sun akkana jedhee abjuu isaa Yoosefitti himate; “Abjuu koo keessatti kunoo muka wayinii tokkotu fuula koo dura ture;
10 And in the vine [were] three stems; and it budding shot forth blossoms; the clusters of grapes were ripe.
mukti wayinii sunis damee sadii qaba ture. Innis akkuma lateen daraare; hurbuun ija isaas ni bilchaatte.
11 And the cup of Pharao was in my hand; and I took the bunch of grapes, and squeezed it into the cup, and gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
Xoofoon Faraʼoon na harka ture; anis ija wayinii fuudhee xoofoo Faraʼoonitti cuunfee xoofoo sana harka Faraʼoonitti kenne.”
12 And Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of it. The three stems are three days.
Yoosefis akkana jedheen; “Hiikkaan isaa kana; dameewwan sadan sun guyyaa sadii.
13 Yet three days and Pharao shall remember your office, and he shall restore you to your place of chief cupbearer, and you shall give the cup of Pharao into his hand, according to your former high place, as you were wont to be cupbearer.
Guyyaa sadii keessatti Faraʼoon mataa kee ol qaba; taayitaa keettis si deebisa; akkuma yeroo dhugaatii dhiʼeessaafii turte sana atis xoofoo Faraʼoon harka isaatti ni kennita.
14 But remember me of yourself, when it shall be well with you, and you shall deal mercifully with me, and you shall make mention of me to Pharao, and you shall bring me forth out of this dungeon.
Garuu yeroo sitti tolutti na yaadadhu; waan gaariis naa godhi. Waaʼee koo Faraʼoonitti himiitii mana hidhaa kanaa na baasi.
15 For surely I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here I have done nothing, but they have cast me into this pit.
Ana biyya Ibrootaatii hatanii na fidaniitii; biyya kana keessattis ani waan boolla kana keessa na buusisu tokko illee hin hojjenne.”
16 And the chief baker saw that he interpreted aright; and he said to Joseph, I also saw a dream, and I thought I took up on my head three baskets of mealy food.
Itti gaafatamaan buddeenaa sunis yommuu akka Yoosef abjuu sanaaf hiikkaa gaarii kenne argetti Yoosefiin akkana jedhe; “Anis abjuu tokkon abjoodhe; kunoo gundoowwan buddeenaa sadii mataa koo irra turan.
17 And in the upper basket there was the work of the baker of every kind which Pharao eats; and the fowls of the air ate them out of the basket that was on my head.
Gundoo ol aanu irra buddeena gosa garaa garaa kan Faraʼooniif qopheeffametu ture; garuu simbirroonni matuma koo irratti gundoo sana keessaa nyaachaa turan.”
18 And Joseph answered and said to him, This is the interpretation of it; The three baskets are three days.
Yoosef immoo akkana jedhe; “Hiikkaan isaa kana; gundoowwan sadan sun guyyaa sadii.
19 Yet three days, and Pharao shall take away your head from off you, and shall hang you on a tree, and the birds of the sky shall eat your flesh from off you.
Guyyaa sadii keessatti Faraʼoon mataa kee ol qaba; mukatti si rarraasa. Simbirroonnis foon kee ni nyaatu.”
20 And it came to pass on the third day that it was Pharao's birth-day, and he made a banquet for all his servants, and he remembered the office of the cupbearer and the office of the baker in the midst of his servants.
Guyyaan sadaffaan guyyaa itti Faraʼoon dhalate ture; Faraʼoonis qondaaltota isaatiif cidha qopheesse. Innis itti gaafatamaa dhugaatiitii fi itti gaafatamaa buddeenaa sana fuula qondaaltota isaa duratti dhiʼeesse:
21 And he restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he gave the cup into Pharao's hand.
Itti gaafatamaa dhugaatii sana hojii isaatti deebise; namichi xoofoo sana ammas harka Faraʼoonitti kenne.
22 And he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph, interpreted to them.
Itti gaafatamaa buddeenaa sana garuu akkuma Yoosef abjuu isaanii hiikeefitti rarraase.
23 Yet did not the chief cupbearer remember Joseph, but forgot him.
Taʼus itti gaafatamaan dhugaatii sun Yoosefin ni irraanfate malee isa hin yaadanne.
