Genesis 31

1 And Jacob heard the words of the sons of Laban, saying, Jacob has taken all that was our father's, and of our father's property has he gotten all this glory.

എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യാക്കോബ് എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ വകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ഈ ധനം ഒക്കെയും സമ്പാദിച്ചു എന്നു ലാബാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളെ അവൻ കേട്ടു.

2 And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and behold it was not toward him as before.

യാക്കോബ് ലാബാന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കിയാറെ അതു തന്റെ നേരെ മുമ്പെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ അല്ല എന്നു കണ്ടു.

3 And the Lord said to Jacob, Return to the land of your father, and to your family, and I will be with you.

അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനോടു: നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കും നിന്റെ ചാൎച്ചക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും മടങ്ങിപ്പോക; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4 And Jacob sent and called Lea and Rachel to the plain where the flocks were.

യാക്കോബ് ആളയച്ചു റാഹേലിനേയും ലേയയെയും വയലിൽ തന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു,

5 And he said to them, I see the face of your father, that it is not toward me as before, but the God of my father was with me.

അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ മുഖം എന്റെ നേരെ മുമ്പെപ്പോലെ അല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ദൈവം എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6 And you too know that with all my might I have served your father.

നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സൎവ്വബലത്തോടും കൂടെ സേവിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ അറിയാമല്ലോ.

7 But your father deceived me, and changed my wages for the ten lambs, yet God gave him not [power] to hurt me.

നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനോ എന്നെ ചതിച്ചു എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം മാറ്റി; എങ്കിലും എന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്‌വാൻ ദൈവം അവനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

8 If he should say thus, The speckled shall be your reward, then all the cattle would bear speckled; and if he should say, The white shall be your reward, then would all the cattle bear white.

പുള്ളിയുള്ളവ നിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ കൂട്ടമൊക്കെയും പുള്ളിയുള്ള കുട്ടികളെ പെറ്റു; വരയുള്ളവ നിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ കൂട്ടമൊക്കെയും വരയുള്ള കുട്ടികളെ പെറ്റു.

9 So God has taken away all the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തെ എടുത്തു എനിക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

10 And it came to pass when the cattle conceived and were with young, that I saw with mine eyes in sleep, and behold the he-goats and the rams leaping on the sheep and the she-goats, speckled and variegated and spotted with ash-colored spots.

ആടുകൾ ചനയേല്ക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ ആടുകളിന്മേൽ കയറുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകൾ വരയും പുള്ളിയും മറുവും ഉള്ളവ എന്നു കണ്ടു.

11 And the angel of God said to me in a dream, Jacob; and I said, What is it?

ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ എന്നോടു: യാക്കോബേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു; ഞാൻ ഇതാ, എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

12 And he said, Look up with your eyes, and behold the he-goats and the rams leaping on the sheep and the she-goats, speckled and variegated and spotted with ash-colored spots; for I have seen all things that Laban does to you.

അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: നീ തലപൊക്കി നോക്കുക; ആടുകളുടെ മേൽ കയറുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകൾ ഒക്കെയും വരയും പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമുള്ളവയല്ലോ; ലാബാൻ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

13 I am God that appeared to you in the place of God where you anointed a pillar to me, and vowed to me there a vow; now then arise and depart out of this land, depart into the land of your nativity, and I will be with you.

നീ തൂണിനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്കയും എന്നോടു നേൎച്ചനേരുകയും ചെയ്ത സ്ഥലമായ ബേഥേലിന്റെ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ; ആകയാൽ നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു, ഈ ദേശംവിട്ടു നിന്റെ ജന്മദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14 And Rachel and Lea answered and said to him, Have we yet a part or inheritance in the house of our father?

റാഹേലും ലേയയും അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഇനി ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടോ?

15 Are we not considered strangers by him? for he has sold us, and quite devoured our money.

അവൻ ഞങ്ങളെ അന്യരായിട്ടല്ലയോ വിചാരിക്കുന്നതു? ഞങ്ങളെ വിറ്റു വിലയും എല്ലാം തിന്നു കളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

16 All the wealth and the glory which God has taken from our father, it shall be our's and our children's; now then do whatever God has said to you.

ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്നു എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞ സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ; ആകയാൽ ദൈവം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തുകൊൾക.

17 And Jacob arose and took his wives and his children up on the camels;

അങ്ങനെ യാക്കോബ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു തന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യമാരെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി.

18 and he took away all his possessions and all his store, which he had gotten in Mesopotamia, and all that belonged to him, to depart to Isaac his father in the land of Chanaan.

തന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളെ ഒക്കെയും താൻ സമ്പാദിച്ച സമ്പത്തു ഒക്കെയും താൻ പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽ സമ്പാദിച്ച മൃഗസമ്പത്തു ഒക്കെയും ചേൎത്തുകൊണ്ടു കനാൻദേശത്തു തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

19 And Laban went to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole her father's images.

ലാബാൻ തന്റെ ആടുകളെ രോമം കത്രിപ്പാൻ പോയിരുന്നു; റാഹേൽ തന്റെ അപ്പന്നുള്ള ഗൃഹവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചു.

20 And Jacob hid [the matter from] Laban the Syrian, so as not to tell him that he ran away.

താൻ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നതു യാക്കോബ് അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാനോടു അറിയിക്കായ്കയാൽ അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചായിരുന്നു പോയതു.

21 And he departed himself and all that belonged to him, and passed over the river, and went into the mountain Galaad.

ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ തനിക്കുള്ള സകലവുമായി ഓടിപ്പോയി; അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നദി കടന്നു, ഗിലെയാദ്പൎവ്വതത്തിന്നു നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു.

22 But it was told Laban the Syrian on the third day, that Jacob was fled.

യാക്കോബ് ഓടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ലാബാന്നു മൂന്നാം ദിവസം അറിവു കിട്ടി.

23 And having taken his brethren with him, he pursued after him seven days' journey, and overtook him on Mount Galaad.

ഉടനെ അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി അവനെ പിന്തുടൎന്നു ഗിലെയാദ്പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ അവനോടു ഒപ്പം എത്തി.

24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in sleep by night, and said to him, Take heed to yourself that you speak not at any time to Jacob evil things.

എന്നാൽ ദൈവം രാത്രി സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: നീ യാക്കോബിനോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറയാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

25 And Laban overtook Jacob; and Jacob pitched his tent in the mountain; and Laban stationed his brothers in the mount Galaad.

ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു ഒപ്പം എത്തി; യാക്കോബ് പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിരുന്നു; ലാബാനും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുമായി ഗിലെയാദ്പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു.

26 And Laban said to Jacob, What have you done? therefore did you run away secretly, and pillage me, and lead away my daughters as captives taken with the sword?

ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ എന്നെ ഒളിച്ചു പോയ്ക്കളകയും എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ വാളാൽ പിടിച്ചവരെപ്പോലെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്തതു എന്തു?

27 Whereas if you had told me, I would have sent you away with mirth, and with songs, and timbrels, and harp.

നീ എന്നെ തോല്പിച്ചു രഹസ്യമായിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോകയും ഞാൻ സന്തോഷത്തോടും സംഗീതത്തോടും മുരജത്തോടും വീണയോടുംകൂടെ നിന്നെ അയപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കയും

28 And I was not counted worthy to embrace my children and my daughters; now then you have wrought foolishly.

എന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ചുംബിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു ഇടതരാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? ഭോഷത്വമാകുന്നു നീ ചെയ്തതു.

29 And now my hand has power to hurt you; but the God of your father spoke to me yesterday, saying, Take heed to yourself that you speak not evil words to Jacob.

നിങ്ങളോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്‌വാൻ എന്റെ പക്കൽ ശക്തിയുണ്ടു; എങ്കിലും നീ യാക്കോബിനോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവം കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രി എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

30 Now then go on your way, for you have earnestly desired to depart to the house of your father; therefore have you stolen my gods?

ആകട്ടെ, നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്നായുള്ള അതിവാഞ്ഛയാൽ നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നു; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു?

31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid; for I said, Lest at any time you should take away your daughters from me, and all my possessions.

യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോടു: പക്ഷെ നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ നീ എന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്നു അപഹരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

32 And Jacob said, With whoever you shall find your gods, he shall not live in the presence of our brethren; take notice of what I have of your property, and take it; and he observed nothing with him, but Jacob knew not that his wife Rachel had stolen them.

എന്നാൽ നീ ആരുടെ പക്കൽ എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ കണ്ടാൽ അവൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുതു; എന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്റെ വക വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു നീ നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ കാൺകെ നോക്കി എടുക്ക എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. റാഹേൽ അവയെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചതു യാക്കോബ് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

33 And Laban went in and searched in the house of Lea, and found [them] not; and he went out of the house of Lea, and searched in the house of Jacob, and in the house of the two maidservants, and found them not; and he went also into the house of Rachel.

അങ്ങനെ ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ലേയയുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും രണ്ടു ദാസിമാരുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ചെന്നു നോക്കി, ഒന്നും കണ്ടില്ല താനും; അവൻ ലേയയുടെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി റാഹേലിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.

34 And Rachel took the idols, and cast them among the camel's packs, and sat upon them.

എന്നാൽ റാഹേൽ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു ഒട്ടകക്കോപ്പിനകത്തു ഇട്ടു അതിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു. ലാബാൻ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും തിരഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, കണ്ടില്ല താനും.

35 And she said to her father, Be not indignant, Sir; I can’t rise up before you, for it is with me according to the manner of women. Laban searched in all the house, and found not the images.

അവൾ അപ്പനോടു: യജമാനൻ കോപിക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എഴുന്നേല്പാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിവില്ല; സ്ത്രീകൾക്കുള്ള മുറ എനിക്കു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശോധന കഴിച്ചു; ഗൃഹവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ കണ്ടില്ല താനും.

36 And Jacob was angry, and strove with Laban; and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my injustice, and what my sin, that you have pursued after me,

അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബിന്നു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു, അവൻ ലാബാനോടു വാദിച്ചു. യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: എന്റെ കുറ്റം എന്തു? നീ ഇത്ര ഉഗ്രതയോടെ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഓടി വരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ തെറ്റു എന്തു?

37 and that you have searched all the furniture of my house? what have you found of all the furniture of your house? set it here between your relations and my relations, and let them decide between us two.

നീ എന്റെ സാമാനം ഒക്കെയും ശോധന കഴിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നിന്റെ വീട്ടിലെ സാമാനം വല്ലതും കണ്ടുവോ? എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കും നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കും മുമ്പാകെ ഇവിടെ വെക്കുക; അവർ നമുക്കിരുവൎക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിക്കട്ടെ.

38 These twenty years have I been with you; your sheep, and your she-goats have not failed in bearing; I devoured not the rams of your cattle.

ഈ ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പാൎത്തു; നിന്റെ ചെമ്മരിയാടുകൾക്കും കോലാടുകൾക്കും ചനനാശം വന്നിട്ടില്ല. നിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിലെ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ ഞാൻ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല.

39 That which was taken of beasts I brought not to you; I made good of myself the thefts of the day, and the thefts of the night.

ദുഷ്ടമൃഗം കടിച്ചുകീറിയതിനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാതെ ഞാൻ അതിന്നു ഉത്തരവാദിയായിരുന്നു; പകൽ കളവു പോയതിനെയും രാത്രി കളവുപോയതിനെയും നീ എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

40 I was parched with heat by day, and [chilled] with frost by night, and my sleep departed from my eyes.

ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു എന്റെ വസ്തുത; പകൽ വെയിൽകൊണ്ടും രാത്രി ശീതംകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻക്ഷയിച്ചു; എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു ഉറക്കമില്ലാതെയായി.

41 These twenty years have I been in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years among your sheep, and you did falsely rate my wages for ten lambs.

ഈ ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാൎത്തു; പതിന്നാലു സംവത്സരം നിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാൎക്കായിട്ടും ആറു സംവത്സരം നിന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നായിട്ടും നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചു; പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം നീ എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം മാറ്റി.

42 Unless I had the God of my father Abraam, and the fear of Isaac, now you would have sent me away empty; God saw my humiliation, and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you yesterday.

എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവമായി അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ഭയവുമായവൻ എനിക്കു ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നീ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളയുമായിരുന്നു; ദൈവം എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രയത്നവും കണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രി ന്യായം വിധിച്ചു.

43 And Laban answered and said to Jacob, The daughters are my daughters, and the sons my sons, and the cattle are my cattle, and all things which you see are mine, and [the property] of my daughters; what shall I do to them today, or their children which they bore?

ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു: പുത്രിമാർ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ, മക്കൾ എന്റെ മക്കൾ, ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം; നീ കാണുന്നതൊക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതു തന്നേ; ഈ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടോ അവർ പ്രസവിച്ച മക്കളോടോ ഞാൻ ഇന്നു എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

44 Now then come, let me make a covenant, both I and you, and it shall be for a witness between me and you; and he said to him, Behold, there is no one with us; behold, God is witness between me and you.

ആകയാൽ വരിക, ഞാനും നീയും തമ്മിൽ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്ക; അതു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

45 And Jacob having taken a stone, set it up for a pillar.

അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് ഒരു കല്ലു എടുത്തു തൂണായി നിൎത്തി.

46 And Jacob said to his brethren, Gather stones; and they gathered stones and made a heap, and ate there upon the heap; and Laban said to him, This heap witnesses between me and you today.

കല്ലു കൂട്ടുവിൻ എന്നു യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ കല്ലു എടുത്തു ഒരു കൂമ്പാരമുണ്ടാക്കി; കൂമ്പാരത്തിന്മേൽവെച്ചു അവർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

47 And Laban called it, the Heap of Testimony; and Jacob called it, the Witness Heap.

ലാബാൻ അതിന്നു യെഗർ-സഹദൂഥാ (സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ കൂമ്പാരം) എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; യാക്കോബ് അതിന്നു ഗലേദ് (സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ കൂമ്പാരം) എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

48 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and the pillar, which I have set between me and you; this heap witnesses, and this pillar witnesses; therefore its name was called, the Heap witnesses.

ഈ കൂമ്പാരം ഇന്നു എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷി എന്നു ലാബാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു ഗലേദ് എന്നും മിസ്പാ (കാവൽ മാടം) എന്നും പോരായി:

49 And the vision of which he said—Let God look to it between me and you, because we are about to depart from each other, —

നാം തമ്മിൽ അകന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യഹോവ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും നടുവെ കാവലായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

50 If you shall humble my daughters, if you should take wives in addition to my daughters, see, there is no one with us looking on. God [is] witness between me and you.

നീ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കയോ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെയല്ലാതെ വേറെ സ്ത്രീകളെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ നമ്മോടുകൂടെ ആരും ഇല്ല; നോക്കുക, ദൈവം തന്നേ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷി എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold, this heap, and this pillar are a witness.

ലാബാൻ പിന്നെയും യാക്കോബിനോടു: ഇതാ, ഈ കൂമ്പാരം; ഇതാ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ നിൎത്തിയ തൂൺ.

52 For if I should not cross over to you, neither should you cross over to me, for mischief beyond this heap and this pillar.

ദോഷത്തിന്നായി ഞാൻ ഈ കൂമ്പാരം കടന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാതെയും നീ ഈ കൂമ്പാരവും ഈ തൂണും കടന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ കൂമ്പാരവും സാക്ഷി, ഈ തൂണും സാക്ഷി.

53 The God of Abraam and the God of Nachor judge between us; and Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും നാഹോരിന്റെ ദൈവവും അവരുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവവുമായവൻ നമുക്കു മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ഭയമായവനെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

54 And he offered a sacrifice in the mountain, and called his brethren, and they ate and drank, and slept in the mountain.

പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ യാഗം അൎപ്പിച്ചു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു; അവർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ രാപാൎത്തു.

55 And Laban rose up in the morning, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them; and Laban having turned back, departed to his place.

ലാബാൻ അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ചുംബിക്കയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്തശേഷം അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
