Genesis 14
1 And it came to pass in the reign of Amarphal king of Sennaar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, that Chodollogomor king of Elam, and Thargal king of nations,
En los días de Amrafel, rey de Sinar, Arioc, rey de Elasar, Quedorlaomer, rey de Elam, y Tidal, rey de Goim,
2 made war with Balla king of Sodom, and with Barsa king of Gomorrha, and with Sennaar, king of Adama, and with Symobor king of Seboim and the king of Balac, this is Segor.
Hicieron guerra contra Bera, rey de Sodoma, y contra Birsha, rey de Gomorra, Sinab, rey de Adma, y Semeber, rey de Zeboim, y el rey de Bela (que es Zoar).
3 All these met with one consent at the salt valley; this is [now] the sea of salt.
Todos estos se juntaron en el valle de Sidim (que es el mar Salado).
4 Twelve years they served Chodollogomor, and the thirteenth year they revolted.
Durante doce años estuvieron bajo el gobierno de Quedorlaomer, pero en el año decimotercero le quitaron el control.
5 And in the fourteenth year came Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, and cut to pieces the giants in Astaroth, and Carnain, and strong nations with them, and the Ommaeans in the city Save.
Y a los catorce años, Quedorlaomer y los reyes que estaban de su parte, vencieron a los Refaítas en Astarot-karnaim, a los Zuzim en Ham y a los Emim en Save Quiriataim,
6 And the Chorrhaeans in the mountains of Seir, to the turpentine tree of Pharan, which is in the desert.
y los horeos en su montaña Seir, y los llevaron hasta El-Paran, que está cerca del desierto.
7 And having turned back they came to the well of judgment; this is Cades, and they cut in pieces all the princes of Amalec, and the Amorites dwelling in Asasonthamar.
Entonces regresaron a En-mispat (que es Cades), asolando toda la tierra de los amalecitas y de los amorreos que vivían en Hazezon-tamar.
8 And the king of Sodom went out, and the king of Gomorrha, and king of Adama, and king of Seboim, and king of Balac, this is Segor, and they set themselves in array against them for war in the salt valley,
Y el rey de Sodoma con el rey de Gomorra, y el rey de Adma, y el rey de Zeboim, y el rey de Bela, que es Zoar, salieron y pusieron sus fuerzas en el valle de Sidim;
9 against Chodollogomor king of Elam, and Thargal king of nations, and Amarphal king of Sennaar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, the four kings against the five.
contra Quedorlaomer, rey de Elam, y Tidal, rey de Goim, y Amrafel, rey de Sinar, y Arioc, rey de Elasar: cuatro reyes contra los cinco.
10 Now the salt valley [consists of] slime-pits. And the king of Sodom fled and the king of Gomorrha, and they fell in there: and they that were left fled to the mountain country.
Ahora el valle de Sidim estaba lleno de agujeros de tierra pegajosa; y los reyes de Sodoma y Gomorra fueron puestos en fuga y llegaron a su fin allí, pero el resto se escapó a la montaña.
11 And they took all the cavalry of Sodom and Gomorrha, and all their provisions, and departed.
Y los cuatro reyes tomaron todos los bienes y alimentos de Sodoma y Gomorra, y siguieron su camino.
12 And they took also Lot the son of Abram's brother, and his baggage, and departed, for he lived in Sodom.
Y además tomaron a Lot, hijo del hermano de Abram, que vivía en Sodoma, y todos sus bienes.
13 And one of them that had been rescued came and told Abram the Hebrew; and he lived by the oak of Mamre the Amorite the brother of Eschol, and the brother of Aunan, who were confederates with Abram.
Y vino el que había escapado de la pelea, y dio aviso de ello a Abram el hebreo, que vivía junto al árbol santo de Mamre, el amorreo, hermano de Escol y Aner, que eran amigos de Abram.
14 And Abram having heard that Lot his nephew had been taken captive, numbered his own home-born [servants] three hundred and eighteen, and pursued after them to Dan.
Y oyendo Abram que el hijo de su hermano había sido hecho prisionero, armó sus hombres adiestrados, trescientos dieciocho de ellos, hijos de su casa, y los siguió hasta Dan.
15 And he came upon them by night, he and his servants, and he struck them and pursued them as far as Choba, which is on the left of Damascus.
Y los atacó de noche, él los venció, los hizo huir y los siguió hasta Hoba, que está al norte de Damasco.
16 And he recovered all the cavalry of Sodom, and he recovered Lot his nephew, and all his possessions, and the women and the people.
Y recuperó todos los bienes, y Lot, el hijo de su hermano, con sus bienes, las mujeres y el pueblo.
17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after he returned from the slaughter of Chodollogomor, and the kings with him, to the valley of Saby; this was the plain of the kings.
Y cuando regresaba después de poner en fuga a Quedorlaomer y los otros reyes, tuvo una reunión con el rey de Sodoma en el valle de Save, es decir, el Valle del Rey.
18 And Melchisedec king of Salem brought forth loaves and wine, and he was the priest of the most high God.
Y Melquisedec, rey de Salem, el sacerdote del Dios Altísimo, tomó pan y vino,
19 And he blessed Abram, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, who made heaven and earth,
Y bendiciéndolo, dijo: Bendición del Dios Altísimo, hacedor del cielo y de la tierra, sea sobre Abram:
20 and blessed be the most high God who delivered your enemies into your power. And Abram gave him the tithe of all.
Y sea alabado el Dios Altísimo, que ha entregado en tus manos a los que estaban contra ti. Entonces Abram le dio una décima parte de todos los bienes que había tomado.
21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the men, and take the horses to yourself.
Y el rey de Sodoma dijo a Abram: Dame los prisioneros, y toma para ti los bienes.
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I will stretch out my hand to the Lord the most high God, who made the heaven and the earth,
Y dijo Abram al rey de Sodoma: Juré al Señor, el Dios Altísimo, hacedor del cielo y de la tierra,
23 [that] I will not take from all your goods from a string to a shoe-latchet, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich.
que no tomaré ni un hilo ni el cordón de un zapato tuyo; para que no digas: le he dado riquezas a Abram:
24 Except what things the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men that went with me, Eschol, Aunan, Mambre, these shall take a portion.
No me den nada más que la comida que han tenido los guerreros que fueron conmigo; pero deje que Aner, Escol y Mamre tengan su parte de los bienes.
