Ezra 10
1 So when Esdras [had] prayed, and when he [had] confessed, weeping and praying before the house of God, a very great assembly of Israel came together to him, men and women and youths; for the people wept, and wept aloud.
೧ಎಜ್ರನು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಪಾಪನಿವೇದನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಗಂಡಸರು, ಹೆಂಗಸರೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಮಹಾಸಮೂಹವಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
2 And Sechenias the son of Jeel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Esdras, We have broken covenant with our God, and have taken strange wives of the nations of the land: yet now there is patience [of hope] to Israel concerning this thing.
೨ಆಗ ಏಲಾಮ್ ಸಂತಾನದ ಯೆಹೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಕನ್ಯನು ಎಜ್ರನಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಾದ ನಾವು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಾದ ಈ ದೇಶನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೆಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹಮಾಡಿದರೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವು ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ಇನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟು.
3 Now then let us make a covenant with our God, to put away all the wives, and their offspring, as you shall advise:
೩ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯಾದ ನೀನೂ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವವನೂ. ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಈಗಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯೋಣ.
4 arise, and alarm them with the commands of our God; and let [it] be done according to the law. Rise up, for the matter [is] upon you; and we [are] with you: be strong and do.
೪ಎದ್ದೇಳು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸತಕ್ಕವನು ನೀನು; ನಾವಾದರೋ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕರು. ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಕೈಹಾಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
5 Then Esdras arose, and caused the rulers, the priests, and Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word: and they swore.
೫ಆಗ ಎಜ್ರನು ಎದ್ದು ಯಾಜಕರ ಮತ್ತು ಲೇವಿಯರ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಿಗೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೂ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯುವುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದರು.
6 And Esdras rose up from before the house of God, and went to the treasury of Joanan the son of Elisub; he even went there: he ate no bread, and drank no water; for he mourned over the unfaithfulness [of them] of the captivity.
೬ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಜ್ರನು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮುಂದಣ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಯಾಷೀಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಹಾನಾನನ ಕೊಠಡಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅನ್ನಪಾನಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದನು.
7 And they made proclamation throughout Juda and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should assemble at Jerusalem, [saying],
೭ತರುವಾಯ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, “ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಬೇಕು.
8 Every one who shall not arrive within three days, as [is] the counsel of the rulers and the elders, all his substance shall be forfeited, and he shall be separated from the congregation of the captivity.
೮ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿರಿಯರ ನಿರ್ಣಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಬಾರದವನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರ ಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಬಹಿಷ್ಕೃತನಾಗುವನು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.
9 So all the men of Juda and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within the three days. This [was] the ninth month: on the twentieth day of the month all the people sat down in the street of the house of the Lord, because of their alarm concerning the word, and because of the storm.
೯ಆಗ ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ಯರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪುರುಷರೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರು. ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿಯೂ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಳೆಯ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ನಡುಗುತ್ತಾ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡರು.
10 And Esdras the priest arose, and said to them, You have broken covenant, and have taken strange wives, to add to the trespass of Israel.
೧೦ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
11 Now therefore give praise to the Lord God of our fathers, and do that which is pleasing in his sight: and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the strange wives.
೧೧ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿ, ಆತನ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ದೇಶನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಂದ ತಂದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆಯಾಗಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
12 Then all the congregation answered and said, This your word [is] powerful upon us to do it.
೧೨ಆಗ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ, “ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ.
13 But the people [is] numerous, and the season [is] stormy, and there is no power to stand without, and the work is more than enough for one day or for two; for we have greatly sinned in this matter.
೧೩ಆದರೆ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದವರು ಬಹು ಜನರು, ಈಗ ಮಳೆಗಾಲ; ಹೊರಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಈ ಕೆಲಸವು ಒಂದೆರಡು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರುವಂಥದಲ್ಲ; ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧವು ದೊಡ್ಡದು.
14 Let now our rulers stand, and for all those in our cities who have taken strange wives, let them come at appointed times, and with them elders from every several city, and judges, to turn away the fierce wrath of our God from us concerning this matter.
೧೪ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರು, ನಾಯಕರು ಸರ್ವಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ; ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನೇಮಿತವಾದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೊಡನೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೊಡನೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಬರಲಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಉಗ್ರಕೋಪವು ಹೀಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
15 Only Jonathan the son of Asael, and Jazias the son of Thecoe [were] with me concerning this; and Mesollam, and Sabbathai the Levite helped them.
೧೫ಅಸಾಹೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನ್, ತಿಕ್ವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಹ್ಜೆಯ ಎಂಬವರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿದರು; ಲೇವಿಯರಾದ ಮೆಷುಲ್ಲಾಮ್, ಶಬ್ಬೆತೈ ಎಂಬವರೂ ಇವರ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದರು.
16 And the children of the captivity did thus: and Esdras the priest, and heads of families according to [their] house were separated, and all by their names, for they returned in the first day of the tenth month to search out the matter.
೧೬ಆದರೆ ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದವರು ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಳಿರುವುದನ್ನೇ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಈ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನೂ ಆಯಾ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರಧಾನಪುರುಷರನ್ನು ಹೆಸರುಹೆಸರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು. ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
17 And they made an end with all the men who had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
೧೭ಅವರು ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವರ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದರು.
18 And there were found [some] of the sons of the priests who had taken strange wives: of the sons of Jesus the son of Josedec, and his brethren; Maasia, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gadalia.
೧೮ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಯಾರೆಂದರೆ: ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ: ಯೋಚಾದಾಕನ ಮಗ ಯೇಷೂವ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯ, ಎಲೀಯೆಜೆರ್, ಯಾರೀಬ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೆದಲ್ಯ ಎಂಬುವವರು.
19 And they pledged themselves to put away their wives, and [offered] a ram of the flock for a trespass-offering because of their trespass.
೧೯ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಕೈ ಮುಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿ ತಾವು ಅಪರಾಧಿಗಳೆಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಟಗರನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
20 And of the sons of Emmer; Anani, and Zabdia.
೨೦ಇಮ್ಮೇರನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಹನಾನೀ ಮತ್ತು ಜೆಬದ್ಯ.
21 And of the sons of Eram; Masael, and Elia, and Samaia, and Jeel, and Ozia.
೨೧ಹಾರೀಮನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯ, ಎಲೀಯ, ಶೆಮಾಯ, ಯೆಹೀಯೇಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಉಜ್ಜೀಯ.
22 And of the sons of Phasur; Elionai, Maasia, and Ismael, and Nathanael, and Jozabad, and Elasa.
೨೨ಪಷ್ಹೂರನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಎಲ್ಯೋವೇನೈ, ಮಾಸೇಯ, ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲ್, ನೆತನೇಲ್, ಯೋಜಾಬಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾಸ.
23 And of the Levites; Jozabad, and Samu, and Colia (he [is] Colitas, ) and Phetheia, and Judas, and Eliezer.
೨೩ಲೇವಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ: ಯೋಜಾಬಾದ್, ಶಿಮ್ಮೀ, ಕೆಲೀಟ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವ ಕೇಲಾಯ, ಪೆತಹ್ಯ, ಯೆಹೂದ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲೀಯೆಜೆರ್.
24 And of the singers; Elisab: and of the porters; Solmen, and Telmen, and Oduth.
೨೪ಗಾಯಕರಲ್ಲಿ: ಎಲ್ಯಾಷೀಬ್. ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರಲ್ಲಿ: ಶಲ್ಲೂಮ್, ಟೆಲೆಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಊರೀ.
25 Also of Israel: of the sons of Phoros; Ramia, and Azia, and Melchia, and Meamin, and Eleazar, and Asabia, and Banaia.
೨೫ಬೇರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ: ಪರೋಷ್ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ರಮ್ಯಾಹ, ಇಜ್ಜೀಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರ್, ಮಿಯ್ಯಾಮಿನ್, ಮಲ್ಕೀಯ, ಬೆನಾಯ;
26 And of the sons of Helam; Matthania, and Zacharia, and Jaiel, and Abdia, and Jarimoth, and Elia.
೨೬ಏಲಾಮ್ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮತ್ತನ್ಯ, ಜೆಕರ್ಯ, ಯೆಹೀಯೇಲ್, ಅಬ್ದೀ, ಯೆರೇಮೋತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಏಲೀಯ.
27 And of the sons of Zathua; Elionai, Elisub, Matthanai, and Armoth, and Zabad, and Oziza.
೨೭ಜತ್ತೂ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಎಲ್ಯೋವೇನೈ, ಎಲ್ಯಾಷೀಬ್, ಮತ್ತನ್ಯ, ಯೆರೇಮೋತ್, ಜಾಬಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಅಜೀಜಾ.
28 And of the sons of Babei; Joanan, Anania, and Zabu, and Thali.
೨೮ಬೇಬೈ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋಹಾನಾನ್, ಹನನ್ಯ, ಜಬ್ಬೈ ಮತ್ತು ಅತ್ಲೈ.
29 And of the sons of Banui; Mosollam, Maluch, Adaias, Jasub, and Saluia, and Remoth.
೨೯ಬಾನೀ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮೆಷುಲ್ಲಾಮ್, ಮಲ್ಲೂಕ್, ಅದಾಯ, ಯಾಷೂಬ್, ಶೆಯಾಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಮೋತ್.
30 And of the sons of Phaath Moab; Edne, and Chalel, and Banaia, Maasia, Matthania, Beseleel, and Banui, and Manasse.
೩೦ಪಹತ್ ಮೋವಾಬ್, ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಅದ್ನ ಕೆಲಾಲ್, ಬೆನಾಯ, ಮಾಸೇಯ ಮತ್ತನ್ಯ, ಬೆಚಲೇಲ್, ಬಿನ್ನೂಯ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸೆ.
31 And of the sons of Eram; Eliezer, Jesia, Melchia, Samaias, Semeon,
೩೧ಹಾರೀಮ್ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಎಲೀಯೆಜೆರ್, ಇಷ್ಷೀಯ, ಮಲ್ಕೀಯ, ಶೆಮಾಯ, ಸಿಮೆಯೋನ್,
32 Benjamin, Baluch, Samaria.
೩೨ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್, ಮಲ್ಲೂಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶೆಮರ್ಯ.
33 And of the sons of Asem; Metthania, Matthatha, Zadab, Eliphalet, Jerami, Manasse, Semei.
೩೩ಹಾಷುಮ್, ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಮತ್ತೆನೈ, ಮತ್ತತ್ತ, ಜಾಬಾದ, ಎಲೀಫೆಲೆಟ್, ಯೆರೇಮೈ, ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಮ್ಮೀ.
34 And of the sons of Bani; Moodia, Amram, Uel,
೩೪ಬಾನೀ ಸಂತಾನದರಾದ ಮಾದೈ, ಅಮ್ರಾಮ್, ಊವೇಲ್
35 Banaia, Badaia, Chelkia,
೩೫ಬೆನಾಯ, ಬೇದೆಯ, ಕೆಲೂಹು,
36 Uvania, Marimoth, Eliasiph,
೩೬ವನ್ಯಾಹ, ಮೆರೇಮೋತ್, ಎಲ್ಯಾಷೀಬ್,
37 Matthania, Matthanai:
೩೭ಮತ್ತನ್ಯ, ಮತ್ತೆನೈ, ಯಾಸೈ,
38 and [so] did the children of Banui, and the children of Semei,
೩೮ಬಾನೀ, ಬಿನ್ನೂಯ್, ಶಿಮ್ಮೀ,
39 and Selemia, and Nathan, and Adaia,
೩೯ಶೆಲೆಮ್ಯ, ನಾತಾನ್, ಅದಾಯ,
40 Machadnabu, Sesei, Sariu,
೪೦ಮಕ್ನದೆಬೈ, ಶಾಷೈ, ಶಾರೈ,
41 Ezriel, and Selemia, and Samaria,
೪೧ಅಜರೇಲ್, ಶೆಲೆಮ್ಯ, ಶೆಮರ್ಯ,
42 and Sellum, Amaria, Joseph.
೪೨ಶಲ್ಲೂಮ್, ಅಮರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಸೇಫ್.
43 Of the sons of Nabu; Jael, Matthanias, Zabad, Zebennas, Jadai, and Joel, and Banaia.
೪೩ನೆಬೋ ಸಂತಾನದವರಾದ ಯೆಗೀಯೇಲ್, ಮತ್ತಿತ್ಯ, ಜಾಬಾದ, ಜೆಬೀನ, ಯದ್ದೈ, ಯೋವೇಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆನಾಯ.
44 All these had taken strange wives, and had begotten sons of them.
೪೪ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅನ್ಯಕುಲದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವರು. ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು.
