Jezekiel 5
1 And you, son of man, take you a sword sharper than a barber's razor; you shall procure it for yourself, and shall bring it upon your head, and upon your beard: and you shall take a pair of scales, and shall separate the hair.
“Hỡi con người, hãy lấy thanh gươm sắc và dùng nó làm dao cạo tóc và râu của con. Dùng cân để cân tóc chia làm ba phần đều nhau.
2 A fourth part you shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city, at the fulfillment of the days of the siege: and you shall take a fourth part, and burn it up in the midst of it: and a fourth part you shall cut with a sword round about it: and a fourth part you shall scatter to the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.
Đặt một phần ba tóc vào giữa bản đồ Giê-ru-sa-lem. Sau khi những ngày vây hãm chấm dứt, hãy đốt phần tóc đó. Rải một phần ba tóc khác ngang qua bản đồ và băm tóc bằng gươm. Một phần ba tóc còn lại rải tản mác theo làn gió thổi, vì Ta sẽ phân tán chúng bằng gươm.
3 And you shall take thence a few in number, and shall wrap them in the fold of your garment.
Hãy giữ lại một ít tóc buộc vào tà áo.
4 And you shall take of these again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them up with fire: from thence shall come forth fire; and you shall say to the whole house of Israel,
Rồi lấy vài sợi ném vào lửa, đốt cháy chúng. Lửa sẽ lan ra từ những sợi tóc đó và thiêu hủy cả nhà Ít-ra-ên.
5 Thus says the Lord; This is Jerusalem: I have set her and the countries round about her in the midst of the nations.
Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Đây là một minh họa về việc sẽ xảy ra cho Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ta đặt nó vào giữa các nước,
6 And you shall declare mine ordinances to the lawless one from out of the nations; and my statutes [to the sinful one] of the countries round about her: because they have rejected mine ordinances, and have not walked in my statutes.
nhưng nó đã phản nghịch chống lại luật lệ và sắc lệnh Ta, còn ác hơn cả những dân tộc chung quanh. Nó từ khước không sống theo các luật lệ và sắc lệnh mà Ta cho nó.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord, Because your occasion [for sin has been taken] from the nations round about you, and you have not walked in my statutes, nor kept mine ordinances, nay, you have not even done according to the ordinances of the nations round about you; therefore thus says the Lord;
Vì thế, đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao phán: Ngươi đã ăn ở tồi tệ hơn các dân tộc khác và không chịu vâng giữ sắc lệnh và luật lệ Ta. Thậm chí, ngươi sống cũng không bằng tiêu chuẩn của các nước chung quanh ngươi.
8 Behold, I am against you, and I will execute judgment in the midst of you in the sight of the nations.
Cho nên, chính Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao, sẽ chống lại ngươi. Ta sẽ hình phạt ngươi công khai cho các dân tộc chứng kiến.
9 And I will do in you things which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do again, for all your abominations.
Vì tội lỗi khủng khiếp của ngươi, Ta sẽ hình phạt ngươi điều Ta chưa hề làm, và sẽ không bao giờ làm nữa.
10 Therefore the fathers shall eat [their] children in the midst of you, and children shall eat [their] fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and I will scatter all that are left of you to every wind.
Cha mẹ sẽ ăn thịt chính con cái mình, và con cái sẽ ăn thịt cha mẹ mình. Ta sẽ hình phạt ngươi và phân tán theo gió những ai còn sống sót.
11 Therefore, [as] I live, says the Lord; surely, because you have defiled my holy things with all your abominations, I also will reject you; mine eye shall not spare, and I will have no mercy.
Thật như Ta hằng sống, Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao quả quyết, Ta sẽ tận diệt ngươi. Ta sẽ không tỏ chút lòng thương tiếc vì ngươi đã làm nhơ bẩn Đền Thờ Ta bằng những ảnh tượng ghê tởm và tội lỗi gớm ghiếc.
12 A fourth part of you shall be cut off by pestilence, and a fourth part of you shall be consumed in the midst of you with famine: and [as for another] fourth part of you, I will scatter them to every wind; and a fourth part of you shall fall by sword round about you, and I will draw out a sword after them.
Một phần ba dân ngươi sẽ chết trong thành vì dịch bệnh và đói kém. Một phần ba bị giết bằng gươm quân thù bên ngoài thành. Và một phần ba sẽ bị phân tán theo gió, vì Ta cho gươm đuổi theo chúng.
13 And my wrath and mine anger shall be accomplished upon them: and you shall know that I the Lord have spoken in my jealousy, when I have accomplished mine anger upon them.
Cuối cùng, cơn giận Ta sẽ được giải tỏa, và Ta sẽ thỏa mãn. Và khi cơn giận Ta lắng xuống, tất cả người Ít-ra-ên sẽ biết rằng Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, đã phán với chúng trong cơn giận khủng khiếp.
14 And I will make you desolate, and your daughters round about you, in the sight of every one that passes through.
Ta sẽ làm cho ngươi ra hoang tàn, là sự nhạo báng trong mắt các nước chung quanh và cho những ai đi ngang qua đó.
15 And you shall be mourned over and miserable among the nations round about you, when I have executed judgments in you in the vengeance of my wrath. I the Lord have spoken.
Ngươi sẽ trở nên đề tài chế giễu, mắng nhiếc, và ghê tởm. Ngươi sẽ là gương để cảnh cáo các dân tộc chung quanh ngươi. Chúng sẽ thấy điều xảy ra khi Chúa Hằng Hữu hình phạt một dân tộc trong cơn thịnh nộ và khiển trách, Chúa Hằng Hữu phán vậy.
16 And when I have sent against them shafts of famine, then they shall be consumed, and I will break the strength of your bread.
Ta sẽ bắn mũi tên đói kém tiêu diệt ngươi. Nạn đói sẽ ngày càng trầm trọng cho đến lúc ngươi không còn bánh ăn.
17 So I will send forth against you famine and evil beasts, and I will take vengeance upon you; and pestilence and blood shall pass through upon you; and I will bring a sword upon you round about. I the Lord have spoken.
Cùng với nạn đói, Ta sẽ sai thú dữ đến tấn công ngươi, cướp ngươi và con cái ngươi. Dịch bệnh và chiến tranh tàn phá xứ ngươi, và Ta sẽ đưa gươm của quân thù đến tận diệt ngươi. Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, phán vậy!”
