Jezekiel 31
1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Kisha ikawa katika mwaka wa kumi na moja, katika mwezi wa tatu, siku ya kwanza ya mwezi, lile neno la Yahwe likanijia, kusema,
2 Son of man, say to Pharao king of Egypt, and to his multitude; To whom have you compared yourself in your haughtiness?
“Mwanadamu, mwambie Farao, mfalme wa Misri, na watu wake wanaomzunguka, 'Katika ukuu wako, je! wewe ni kama nani?
3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cypress in Libanus, and was fair in shoots, and high in stature: his top reached to the midst of the clouds.
Tazama! Ashuru ilikuwa mwerezi katika Lebanoni pamoja na matawi mazuri, yakitoa kivuli kwenye msitu, na mirefu katika kimo, na matawi yalitengeneza kilele cha mti wake.
4 The water nourished him, the depth made him grow tall; she led her rivers round about his plants, and she sent forth her streams to all the trees of the field.
Maji mengi yaliufanya kuwa mrefu; maji ya chini yaliufanya kuwa mkuba. Mito ilitiririka sehemu zake zote, kwa kuwa mifereji yake ilitoa kuelekea kwenye miti yote katika shamba.
5 Therefore was his stature exalted above all the trees of the field, and his branches spread far by the help of much water.
Kimo chake kikubwa kilikuwa zaidi kuliko miti mingine yote katika shamba, na matawi yake yakawa mengi; matawi yake yalikuwa marefu kwa sababu ya maji mengi yalipokuwa yakikua.
6 All the birds of the sky made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches all the wild beasts of the field bred; the whole multitude of nations lived under his shadow.
Kila ndege wa mbinguni alitengeza kiota kwenye matawi yake, wakati kila kiumbe hai cha shamba kilizaa mtoto chini ya tawi. Mataifa mengi yote yaliishi chini ya kivuli chake.
7 And he was fair in his height by reason of the multitude of his branches: for his roots were amidst much water.
Kwa kuwa ulikuwa uzuri katika ukuu wake na kimo cha matawi yake, kwa kuwa mizizi yake ilikuwa katika maji mengi.
8 And such cypresses [as this] were in the paradise of God; and there were no pines like his shoots, and there were no firs like his branches: no tree in the paradise of God was like him in his beauty,
Mierezi katika bustani ya Mungu haikuweza kuwa sawa nayo. Hakuna miongoni mwa miti ya mivinje iliyofanana matawi yake, na miti ya miamori haikuweza kuwa sawa na majani yake. Hapakuwa na mti mwingine katika bustani ya Mungu ulikuwa kama huo katika uzuri wake.
9 because of the multitude of his branches: and the trees of God's paradise of delight envied him.
Nimeufanya kuwa mzuri pamoja na matawi yake mengi na miti yote ya Edeni iliyokuwa katika bustani ya Mungu ilimwonea wivu.
10 Therefore thus says the Lord; Because you are grown great, and have set your top in the midst of the clouds, and I saw when he was exalted;
Kwa hiyo Bwana Yahwe asema hivi: Kwa sababu ilikuwa mirefu kwa kina, na imekiweka kilele chake kati ya matawi yake, moyo wake umeinua kwa sababu ya urefu wake.
11 therefore I delivered him into the hands of the prince of the nations, and he wrought his destruction.
Nimeuweka kwenye mikono ya yeye mwenye uweza wa mataifa, kuishughulikia kulingana na yale maovu anayostahili. Nimeufukuza.
12 And ravaging strangers from the nations have destroyed him, and have cast him down upon the mountains: his branches fell in all the valleys, and his boughs were broken in every field of the land; and all the people of the nations are gone down from their shelter, and have laid him low.
Wageni waliokuwa wakiogofya wa mataifa yote wameikatilia mbali kuiacha ife. Matawi yake yameanguka kwenye milima na mabonde yote, na matawi yake yameanguka katika mito yote ya nchi. Kisha mataifa yote juu ya nchi wakatoka nje kutoka chini ya kivuli na kwenda zao wakamwacha.
13 All the birds of the sky have settled on his fallen trunk, and all the wild beasts of the field came upon his boughs:
Ndege wa agani watapumzika kwenye shina la mti ulioanguka, na kila mnyama wa shambani atakuja kwenye matawi yake.
14 in order that none of the trees by the water should exalt themselves by reason of their size: whereas they set their top in the midst of the clouds, yet they continued not in their high state in their place, all that drank water, all were consigned to death, to the depth of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
Hii litokea ili kwamba pasiwe na miti mingine itakayopandwa karibu na maji yatang'oa majani yake hata kwenye kina cha miti mirefu, na kwamba hakuna miti mingine itakayomea karibu na maji itakayofikia kwenye hicho kina. Wote wametolewa kufa, chini ya nchi, miongoni mwa watoto wa binadamu, pamoja na wale washukao chini.
15 Thus says the Lord God; In the day wherein he went down to Hades, the deep mourned for him: and I stayed her floods, and restrained her abundance of water: and Libanus saddened for him, all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol h7585)
Bwana Yahwe asema hivi: Katika siku wakati mkangazi uliposhuka chini nilileta maombolezo kwenye dunia. Niliyafunika maji ya chini juu yake, nikayarudisha maji ya bahari. Nilizuia maji makuu, nikaleta maombolezo hata Lebanoni kwa ajili yake. Hivyo miti yote ya shambani ikaomboleza kwa sababu yake. (Sheol h7585)
16 At the sound of his fall the nations quaked, when I brought him down to Hades with them that go down to the pit: and all the trees of Delight comforted him in the heart, and the choice of [plants] of Libanus, all that drink water. (Sheol h7585)
Nimeleta tetemeko kwa mataifa wa sauti ya kuanguka kwake, wakati nitakapomtupa chini mpaka kuzimu pamoja na wale walioenda chini kwenye shimo. Hivyo niliitia moyo miti ya Edeni yote katika pande zote za nchi. Hii ilikuwa imechaguliwa na miti iliyokuwa bora ya Lenanoni; miti iliyokunywa maji. (Sheol h7585)
17 For they went down to hell with him among the slain with the sword; and his seed, [even] they that lived under his shadow, perished in the midst of their life. (Sheol h7585)
Kwa kuwa walikwenda chini pia pamoja nayo hata kuzimu, kwa wale waliokuwa wameuawa kwa upanga. Kulikuwa na jeshi lake imara, yale mataifa yalikuwa yakiishi kati kivuli chake. (Sheol h7585)
18 To whom are you compared? descend, and be you debased with the trees of paradise to the depth of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain by the sword. Thus shall Pharao be, and the multitude of his host, says the Lord God.
Umefanana na nani hivi katika utukufu na ukuu kati ya mti wa Edeni? Kwa kuwa utashushwa chini pamoja na miti ya Edeni hata pande zote nne za dunia miongoni mwa wasiotahiriwa; utaishi pamoja na watu wake wote-hivi ndivyo Bwana Yahwe asemavy.”
