< Jezekiel 29 >

1 In the twelfth year, in the tenth month, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻi hono hongofulu ʻoe taʻu, mo hono hongofulu ʻoe māhina, pea mo hono hongofulu ma ua ʻoe ʻaho, ʻo pehē,
2 Son of man, set your face against Pharao king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against the whole of Egypt:
“Foha ʻoe tangata, fakahanga ho mata kia Felo ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite, pea kikite kiate ia, pea mo ʻIsipite kātoa.
3 and say, Thus says the Lord; Behold, I am against Pharao, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, that says, The rivers are mine, and I made them.
Lea, pea ke pehē, ‘ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua: Vakai, ʻoku ou tuʻu kiate koe, ʻe Felo, tuʻi ʻo ʻIsipite, ʻa koe ko e kalokataile ʻoku tokoto ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo ho ngaahi vaitafe, ʻa koe kuo ke pehē, ‘Ko hoku vaitafe ʻoku ʻoʻoku pe ia, pea kuo u ngaohi ia kiate au pē.’
4 And I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will cause the fish of your river to stick to your sides, and I will bring you up out of the midst of your river:
Ka te u ʻai ʻeau ʻae mātaʻu ʻi ho ngutu, pea te u pule ki he ika kotoa pē ʻi ho ngaahi vaitafe, ke nau pipiki ki ho ʻuno, pea te u fusi hake koe mei he loto vaitafe, pea ʻe pipiki ki ho ʻuno ʻae ika kotoa pē ʻi ho ngaahi vaitafe.
5 and I will quickly cast down you and all the fish of your river: you shall fall on the face of the plain, and shall by no means be gathered, and shall not be brought together: I have given you for food to the wild beasts of the earth and to the fowls of the sky.
Pea te u tuku siʻaki pe koe ki he toafa, ʻa koe mo e ika kotoa pē ʻo ho ngaahi vaitafe: te ke tō atu ki he ʻatā ʻoe ngaahi potu ngoue; pea ʻe ʻikai toe fakamaʻopo koe pe tānaki: kuo u foaki koe ko e meʻakai ki he fanga manu ʻoe vao, pea mo e fanga manupuna ʻoe langi.
6 And all the dwellers in Egypt shall know that I am the Lord, because you have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
Pea ʻe ʻilo ʻe he kakai kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsipite ko au ko Sihova, koeʻuhi kuo nau tatau pe mo e vaʻa kaho ki he fale ʻo ʻIsileli.
7 When they took hold of you with their hand, you did break: and when every hand was clapped against them, and when they leaned on you, you were utterly broken, and did crush the loins of them all.
‌ʻI heʻenau puke koe ʻi honau nima naʻa ke mafesi, pea makohikohi ai honau nima kotoa pē: pea ʻi heʻenau faʻaki kiate koe naʻa ke fasi, pea fakahomohomo ai honau hokotanga hui kotoa pē.”
8 Therefore thus says the Lord; Behold, I [will] bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast;
Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; “Vakai te u ʻomi ʻae heletā kiate koe pea tuʻusi meiate koe ʻae tangata pea mo e manu.
9 and the land of Egypt shall be ruined and desert; and they shall know that I am the Lord; because you say, The rivers are mine, and I made them.
Pea ʻe lala mo vaoa ʻae fonua ʻo ʻIsipite; pea te nau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova; koeʻuhi kuo ne pehē ʻe ia, ʻOku ʻoʻoku ʻae vaitafe, pea kuo u ngaohi ia ʻeau.
10 Therefore, behold, I am against you, and against all your rivers, and I will give up the land of Egypt to desolation, and the sword, and destruction, from Magdol and Syene even to the borders of the Ethiopians.
11 No foot of man shall pass through it, and no foot of beast shall pass through it, and it shall not be inhabited for forty years.
‌ʻE ʻikai ʻalu atu ai ha vaʻe ʻo ha tangata, pe ʻalu atu ʻi ai ha vaʻe ʻo ha manu, pea ʻe ʻikai hano kakai ʻi ai ʻi he taʻu ʻe fāngofulu.
12 And I will cause her land to be utterly destroyed in the midst of a land that is desolate, and her cities shall be [desolate] forty years in the midst of cities that are desolate: and I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and will utterly scatter them into the countries.
Pea te u ngaohi ke lala ʻae fonua ʻo ʻIsipite ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi fonua kuo lala, pea ko ʻene ngaahi kolo ʻi he ngaahi kolo kuo lala ʻi he taʻu ʻe fāngofulu: pea te u fakamovete ʻae kakai ʻIsipite ki he ngaahi puleʻanga, pea te u fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ki he ngaahi fonua.
13 Thus says the Lord; After forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations among whom they have been scattered;
Ka ko eni, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; ʻI he hili ʻae taʻu ʻe fāngofulu, te u tānaki ʻae kakai ʻIsipite mei he ngaahi potu naʻe fakahēʻi ki ai ʻakinautolu.
14 and I will turn the captivity of the Egyptians, and will cause them to dwell in the land of Phathore, in the land whence they were taken;
Pea te u toe liliu mai ʻae pōpula ʻo ʻIsipite, pea te u pule ke nau toe haʻu ki he fonua ko Patalosi, ki he fonua ʻo honau nofoʻanga; ka te nau ʻi ai ko e puleʻanga moʻulaloa.
15 and it shall be a base kingdom beyond all [other] kingdoms; it shall not any more be exalted over the nations; and I will make them few in number, that they may not be [great] among the nations.
‌ʻE māʻulalo hifo ia ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga; pea ʻe ʻikai te ne toe hiki hake ia ʻe ia ke māʻolunga ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga; he te u ngaohi ke fakaʻaʻau ki mui ʻakinautolu, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa toe pule ia ki he ngaahi puleʻanga.
16 And they shall no more be to the house of Israel a confidence bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they follow after them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
Pea ʻe ʻikai toe hoko ia ko e falalaʻanga ʻoe fale ʻo ʻIsileli, koeʻuhi ka nau ka sio ki ai te nau manatuʻi ʻenau hia: ka te nau ʻilo au, ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua.”
17 And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, on the first [day] of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Pea ʻi heʻene hoko ki hono uofulu ma fitu ʻoe taʻu, ʻi hono ʻuluaki māhina, ʻi he ʻuluaki ʻaho ʻoe māhina, naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kiate au, ʻo pehē,
18 Son of man, Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre; every head was bald, and every shoulder peeled; yet there was no reward to him or to his army [serving] against Tyre, nor for the service wherewith they served against it.
“Foha ʻoe tangata, naʻe pule ʻe Nepukanesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone ki heʻene kautau, ke nau fai ʻae ngāue lahi ki Taia: naʻe tula ai ʻae ʻulu kotoa pē, pea mafohi ai ʻae uma kotoa pē: ka naʻe ʻikai haʻane totongi ʻaʻana, pe ko ʻene kautau, koeʻuhi ko Taia, mo e ngāue lahi naʻa ne fai ki ai:
19 Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I [will] give to Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon the land of Egypt, and he shall take the plunder thereof, and seize the spoils thereof; and [it] shall be a reward for his army.
20 In return for his service wherewith he served against Tyre, I have given him the land of Egypt; thus says the Lord God:
Kuo u foaki kiate ia ʻae fonua ko ʻIsipite, koeʻuhi ko e ngāue ʻaia naʻa ne fai ki ai, he naʻa nau fai ia maʻaku, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.
21 In that day shall a horn spring forth for all the house of Israel, and I will give you an open mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia te u ngaohi ke tupu ʻae moto ʻoe nifo ʻoe fale ʻo ʻIsileli, pea te u tuku ke faʻa matoʻo ai ho ngutu ʻiate kinautolu; pea te nau ʻilo ko Sihova au.”
