Jezekiel 2

1 This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw and fell upon my face, and heard the voice of one speaking: and he said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak to you.

তিনি আমাকে বললেন, “হে মানবসন্তান, তুমি পায়ে ভর দিয়ে দাঁড়াও, আমি তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলব।”

2 And the Spirit came upon me, and took me up, and raised me, and set me on my feet: and I heard him speaking to me.

তিনি যখন কথা বলছিলেন তখন ঈশ্বরের আত্মা আমার মধ্যে এসে আমাকে পায়ে ভর দিয়ে দাঁড় করালেন আর আমি শুনলাম তিনি আমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছেন।

3 And he said to me, Son of Man, I send you forth to the house of Israel, them that provoke me; who have provoked me, they and their fathers to this day.

তিনি বললেন “হে মানবসন্তান, আমি তোমাকে ইস্রায়েলীদের কাছে পাঠাচ্ছি, সেই বিদ্রোহী জাতি যারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করেছে; তারা ও তাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা আজ পর্যন্ত আমার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করছে।

4 And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord.

যে লোকদের কাছে আমি তোমাকে পাঠাচ্ছি তারা একগুঁয়ে ও জেদি। তাদের বলবে, ‘সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।’

5 Whether then indeed they shall hear or fear, (for it is a provoking house, ) yet they shall know that you are a prophet in the midst of them.

আর তারা শুনুক বা না শুনুক—কারণ তারা বিদ্রোহীকুল—তারা জানতে পারবে যে একজন ভাববাদী তাদের মধ্যে আছেন।

6 And you, son of man, fear them not, nor be dismayed at their face; (for they will madden and will rise up against you round about, and you dwell in the midst of scorpions): be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their countenance, for it is a provoking house.

আর তুমি, মানবসন্তান, তুমি তাদের ও তাদের কথায় ভয় পেয়ো না। যদিও তারা শিয়ালকাঁটা ও কাঁটাঝোপের মতো তোমার চারপাশে থাকবে এবং তুমি কাঁকড়াবিছের মধ্যে বাস করবে। তাদের কথা শুনে বা তাদের দেখে ভয় পেয়ো না, যদিও তারা বিদ্রোহীকুল।

7 And you shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear or fear: for it is a provoking house.

তুমি তাদের কাছে আমার কথা বলবে, তারা শুনুক বা না শুনুক, কারণ তারা বিদ্রোহী।

8 And you, son of man, hear him that speaks to you; be not you provoking, as the provoking house: open your mouth, and eat what I give you.

কিন্তু তুমি, মানবসন্তান, আমি যা বলছি তা শোনো। সেই বিদ্রোহীকুলের মতন বিদ্রোহী হোয়ো না; তোমার মুখ খোলো আর আমি যা তোমাকে দিচ্ছি তা খাও।”

9 And I looked, and behold, a hand stretched out to me, and in it a volume of a book.

তখন আমি তাকিয়ে দেখলাম আমার দিকে একটি হাত বাড়ানো রয়েছে। তাতে রয়েছে একটি গুটিয়ে রাখা বই,

10 And he unrolled it before me: and in it the front and the back were written [upon]: and there was written [in it] Lamentation, and mournful song, and woe.

যেটি তিনি আমার সামনে খুলে ধরলেন। তার দুদিকেই লেখা ছিল বিলাপ, শোক ও দুঃখের কথা।
