< Jezekiel 17 >
1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Wach Jehova Nyasaye nobirona kama:
2 Son of man, relate a tale, and speak a parable to the house of Israel:
“Wuod dhano, nyis dhood Israel ngero moro.
3 and you shall say, Thus says the Lord; A great eagle with large wings, spreading them out very far, with many claws, which has the design of entering into Libanus—and he took the choice [branches] of the cedar:
Wachnegi ni ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: ‘Ne nitie ongo moro maduongʼ man kod bwombe madongo dongo kendo man-gi yier mokiko okiko kendo maboyo, nobiro Lebanon. Ongono nopiyo ewi yiend sida,
4 he cropped off the ends of the tender twigs, and brought them into the land of Chanaan; he laid them up in a walled city.
mi ojako chuny yien-no mane pod dongo, kendo ne otingʼe odhi kode mabor nyaka e piny moro ma jo-ohala madongo, odakie kendo nopidhe e dala maduongʼ mar jo-ohalago.
5 And he took of the seed of the land, and sowed it in a field planted by much water; he set it in a conspicuous place.
“‘Ne okawo kothe moko moa e puotheu kendo noketogi e lowo mamiyo. Nopidhe e tiend aora kama pi ngʼenyie mana kaka ipidho yien ma bedene odolore-odolore mati kuode ma pi nitie,
6 And it sprang up, and became a weak and little vine, so that the branches thereof appeared [upon] it, and its roots were under it: and it became a vine, and put forth shoots, and sent forth its tendrils.
mine odongo modoko yiend mzabibu molak kendo oriere gi piny. Bedene nodongo modolore ochomo ongono, to tiendene to nomako lowo motegno. Omiyo nodoko yiend mzabibu ma bedene otimo otiep.
7 And there was another great eagle, with great wings and many claws: and, behold, this vine bent itself round toward him, and her roots [were turned] towards him, and she sent forth her branches towards him, that [he] might water her together with the growth of her plantation.
“‘To ne nitie ongo moro machielo maduongʼ ma bwombene otegno kendo opongʼ gi yier. Yiend mzabibuno koro tiendene ne lak koa kamane opidhe kochome kendo bedene bende nochako yarore kochome mondo oyud pi.
8 She thrives in a fair field by much water, to produce shoots and bear fruit, that she might become a great vine.
Ne oyudo osepidhe e lowo maber kendo ma pi ngʼenyie mondo bedene othiew, onyag olemo, kendo obed yiend mzabibu maber.’
9 Therefore say, Thus says the Lord; Shall it prosper? shall not the roots of her tender stem and her fruit be blighted? yes, all her early shoots shall be dried up, and [that] not by a mighty arm, nor by many people, to tear her up from her roots.
“Wachnegi ni ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: ‘Bende obiro dongo maber adier? Donge ibiro pudhe mi lwer olembene mi otwo? Kata otem loth kendo to obiro mana ner. Ok obi dwaro ngʼat maratego kata ji mangʼeny mondo opudhe oko gi tiendene.
10 And, behold, it thrives: shall it prosper? shall it not wither as soon as the east wind touches it? it shall be withered together with the growth of its shoots.
To kata ka opidhe kendo, bende dolodh maber? Donge obiro ner chuth ka yamb ugwe ogoye moner e puodho kamane odonge?’”
11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me saying,
Eka wach Jehova Nyasaye nobirona kama:
12 Son of man, say now to the provoking house, Know you not what these things were? say [to them], Whenever the king of Babylon shall come against Jerusalem, then he shall take her king and her princes, and shall take them home to Babylon.
“Wachne oganda ma jongʼanyogo ni, ‘Donge ungʼeyo tiend gigi?’ Wachnegi ni, ‘Ruodh Babulon nodhi Jerusalem momake ruodhe kod joge momew mi nodhi kodgi nyaka Babulon.
13 And he shall take of the seed royal, and shall make a covenant with him, and shall bind him with an oath: and he shall take the princes of the land:
Bangʼe ne okaw ngʼato moro moa e dhood joka ruoth kendo noloso kode winjruok e yor kwongʼruok. Nomako bende joma idewo mag pinyno mi odhigo,
14 that it may become a weak kingdom, so as never to lift itself up, that he may keep his covenant, and establish it.
mondo omi pinyruodhno otieki ma ok nyal chungʼ kendo, kendo odhi nyime mana korito winjruok mane oketi.
15 And [if] he shall revolt from him, to send his messengers into Egypt, that [they] may give him horses and much people; shall he prosper? shall he that acts as an adversary be preserved? and shall he that transgresses the covenant be preserved?
To ruoth noketho winjruok ma notimo kode kooro joote Misri mondo oom farese kod jolweny mangʼeny. To bende onyalo loyo lweny adier? Bende ngʼama timo gik ma kamago nyalo tony adier? Bende doketh winjruok mi otony?
16 [As] I live, says the Lord, verily in [the] place where the king is that made him king, who dishonored my oath, and who broke my covenant, shall he die with him in the midst of Babylon.
“‘Akwongʼora gi nyinga awuon an Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto ni obiro tho e piny Babulon, ma piny mar ruoth mane okete e loch, mosechayo singruok mane otimo kode, kendo moseketho winjruok mane otimne.
17 And Pharaoh shall make war upon him not with a large force or great multitude, in throwing up a mound, and in building of forts, to cut off souls.
Farao kaachiel gi jolwenje maroteke kod oganda maduongʼ makedone ok bi konye e lweny, kata bed ni ogero raidhi kod ohinga mar agengʼa chiengʼ ma nakethie ngima ji mangʼeny.
18 Whereas he has profaned the oath so as to break the covenant, when, behold, I engage his hand, and he has done all these things to him, he shall not escape.
Ne ochayo singruok kuom ketho winjruok. Nikech ne ok orito singruok mane osetimo, ok enotonyne kum.
19 Therefore say, Thus says the Lord; [As] I live, surely mine oath which he has profaned, and my covenant which he has transgressed, I will even recompense it upon his head.
“‘Kuom mano, ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: Akwongʼora gi nyinga awuon ni abiro kume nikech ne ok orito singruokna kod winjruok mane atimo kode.
20 And I will spread a net upon him, and he shall be caught in its snare.
Abiro chikone obadho mondo amakego. Abiro kele nyaka Babulon mi akume kuno nikech ne ok orito adierana.
21 In every battle of his they shall fall by the sword, and I will scatter [his] remnant to every wind: and you shall know that I the Lord have spoken it.
Jokedo mage duto ma notony gi ngʼwech biro podho e lak ligangla, kendo joge modongʼ noke kuonde duto. Eka unungʼe ni an Jehova Nyasaye ema asewuoyo.
22 For thus says the Lord; I will even take of the choice [branches] of the cedar from the top [thereof], I will crop off their hearts, and I will plant it on a high mountain:
“‘Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto wacho: An awuon ema abiro kawo chuny maloth ewi midimidi mar yadh sida mi achak apidhe. Abiro chodo chunye ma pod yom e wiye malo mogik mi apidhi ewi got moro mabor moyombo gode.
23 and I will hang it on a lofty mountain of Israel: yes, I will plant it, and it shall put forth shoots, and shall bear fruit, and it shall be a great cedar: and every bird shall rest beneath it, even every fowl shall rest under its shadow: its branches shall be restored.
Ewi gode madongo mag Israel ema abiro pidhee, kendo obiro yaro bedene kendo obiro nyago olemo mi obed yiend sida maratipo. Kit winy mopogore opogore biro gero utegi kuome, kendo gibiro yudo kar dak gi kar yweyo e bedene.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord that bring low the high tree, and exalt the low tree, and wither the green tree, and cause the dry tree to flourish: I the Lord have spoken, and will do [it].
Yiende duto mag puodho biro ngʼeyo ni an Jehova Nyasaye ema amiyo yien marabora doko machiek, to yien machiek amiyo dongo mi dok marabora. Amiyo yien momiyo maralum two to amiyo yien motwo loth. “‘An Jehova Nyasaye ema asewuoyo kendo abiro time.’”
