< Exodus 1 >
1 These are the names of the sons of Israel that came into Egypt together with Jacob their father; they came in each with their whole family.
Haddaba waa kuwan magacyadii wiilashii Israa'iil, oo Masar yimid; nin walba iyo reerkiisiiba waxay la yimaadeen Yacquub.
2 Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Judas,
Ruubeen, Simecoon, Laawi iyo Yahuudah,
3 Issachar, Zabulon, Benjamin,
Isaakaar, Sebulun, iyo Benyaamiin,
4 Dan and Nephthalim, Gad and Aser.
Daan iyo Naftaali, iyo Gaad iyo Aasheer.
5 But Joseph was in Egypt. And all the souls [born] of Jacob were seventy-five.
Oo dadkii ka soo go'ay xanjaadkii Yacquub oo dhammu waxay ahaayeen toddobaatan qof; Yuusufna Masar buu markii hore joogay.
6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
Yuusufna, iyo walaalihiis, iyo farcankaas oo dhanba way wada dhinteen.
7 And the children of Israel increased and multiplied, and became numerous and grew exceedingly strong, and the land multiplied them.
Oo reer binu Israa'iilna waa bateen, oo aad bay u kordheen, wayna tarmeen, oo aad iyo aad u xoogaysteen; dhulkiina way buuxiyeen.
8 And there arose up another king over Egypt, who knew not Joseph.
Haddaba Masar waxaa ka kacay boqor cusub oo aan Yuusuf aqoonin.
9 And he said to his nation, Behold, the race of the children of Israel is a great multitude, and is stronger than we:
Markaasuu wuxuu dadkiisii ku yidhi, Bal eega, dadkii reer binu Israa'iil waa inaga badan yihiin, wayna inaga xoog weyn yihiin.
10 come then, let us deal craftily with them, lest at any time they be increased, and whenever war shall happen to us, these also shall be added to our enemies, and having prevailed against us in war, they will depart out of the land.
11 And he set over them taskmasters, who should afflict them in their works; and they built strong cities for Pharao, both Pitho, and Ramesses, and On, which is Heliopolis.
Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed ayay niman madax uga dhigeen si ay culaabtooda ugu dhibaan, oo waxay Fircoon u dhiseen magaalooyin wax lagu kaydiyo oo la yidhaahdo Fitom iyo Racmeses.
12 But as they humbled them, by so much they multiplied, and grew exceedingly strong; and the Egyptians greatly abhorred the children of Israel.
Laakiinse in kastoo ay aad u dhibeen, haddana aad bay u sii tarmeen, oo aad bay u faafeen. Oo reer binu Israa'iil aawadood ayay la murugaysnaayeen.
13 And the Egyptians tyrannized over the children of Israel by force.
Oo Masriyiintiina waxay reer binu Israa'iil ku qasbeen inay qaxar ku adeegaan,
14 And they embittered their life by hard labors, in the clay and in brick-making, and all the works in the plains, according to all the works, wherein they caused them to serve with violence.
oo waxay naftoodii ku dhibeen hawl aad u adag, oo ahayd dhoobo la qaso, iyo leben, iyo hawl kasta oo beeraha laga qabto, oo hawl kastoo ay ku qasbeen inay qabtaanba way ku qaxri jireen.
15 And the king of the Egyptians spoke to the midwives of the Hebrews; the name of the one was, Sepphora; and the name of the second, Phua.
Markaasaa boqorkii Masar wuxuu la hadlay umulisooyinkii Cibraaniyadaha ahaa, oo middood magaceeda Shifraah la odhan jiray, tan kale magaceedana Fuwah la odhan jiray,
16 And he said, When you do the office of midwives to the Hebrew women, and they are about to be delivered, if it be a male, kill it; but if a female, save it.
oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Markii aad umulinaysaan naagaha Cibraaniyadaha, oo aad aragtaan iyagoo gambarka umusha fadhiya, haddii uu wiil yahay, waa inaad dishaan, haddayse gabadh tahay, ha iska noolaato.
17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt appointed them; and they saved the male children alive.
Laakiinse umulisooyinkii Ilaah bay ka cabsadeen, mana ay samayn wixii boqorkii Masar ku amray, ee way badbaadiyeen carruurtii labka ahayd.
18 And the king of Egypt called the midwives, and said to them, Why is it that you have done this thing, and saved the male children alive?
Markaasaa boqorkii Masar u yeedhay umulisooyinkii, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Maxaad waxan u samayseen, oo aad u badbaadiseen carruurtii labka ahayd?
19 And the midwives said to Pharao, The Hebrew women are not as the women of Egypt, for they are delivered before the midwives go in to them. So they bore children.
Markaasaa umulisooyinkii waxay Fircoon ku yidhaahdeen, Maxaa yeelay, naagaha Cibraaniyaduhu la mid ma aha naagaha Masriga, oo waa ka dhaqso badan yihiin, oo intii aan umulisooyinku u iman bay umulaan.
20 And God did well to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and grew very strong.
Haddaba Ilaah si wanaagsan buu u sameeyey umulisooyinkii, dadkiina waa tarmay, oo aad bay u xoogaysteen.
21 And as the midwives feared God, they established for themselves families.
Oo waxay noqotay, in Ilaah umulisooyinkii reero u yeelay, maxaa yeelay, Ilaah bay ka cabsadeen.
22 And Pharao charged all his people, saying, Whatever male [child] shall be born to the Hebrews, cast into the river; and every female, save it alive.
Markaasaa Fircoon wuxuu dadkiisii ku amray, oo ku yidhi, Wiil kasta oo dhasha waa inaad webiga ku tuurtaan, laakiinse gabadh kasta waa inaad badbaadisaan.
