< Exodus 35 >
1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said, These are the words which the Lord has spoken for [you] to do them.
Therefore, when all the multitude of the sons of Israel had gathered together, he said to them: “These are the things that the Lord has ordered to be done:
2 Six days shall you perform works, but on the seventh day [shall be] rest—a holy sabbath—a rest for the Lord: every one that does work on it, let him die.
For six days you shall do work; the seventh day, the Sabbath and the rest of the Lord, will be holy to you; whoever will have done any work in it shall be killed.
3 You shall not burn a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath-day; I [am] the Lord.
You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwelling places throughout the day of the Sabbath.”
4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the Lord has appointed you, saying,
And Moses said to the entire crowd of the sons of Israel: “This is the word which the Lord has instructed, saying:
5 Take of yourselves an offering for the Lord: every one that engages in his heart shall bring the first fruits to the Lord; gold, silver, brass,
Separate from among you the first-fruits to the Lord. Let all who are willing and have a ready soul offer these to the Lord: gold, and silver, and brass,
6 blue, purple, double scarlet spun, and fine linen spun, and goats' hair,
hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine linen, the hair of goats,
7 and rams' skins dyed red, and skins [dyed] blue, and incorruptible wood,
and the skins of rams, dyed red, and violet skins, setim wood,
8 and sardine stones, and stones for engraving for the shoulder-piece and full-length robe.
and oil to prepare lights and to produce ointment, and most sweet incense,
9 And every man that is wise in heart among you, let him come and work all things whatever the Lord has commanded.
onyx stones and gems, to adorn the ephod and the breastplate.
10 The tabernacle, and the cords, and the coverings, and the rings, and the bars, and the posts,
And whoever among you is wise, let him come and make what the Lord has commanded:
11 and the ark of the testimony, and its staves, and its propitiatory, and the veil,
the tabernacle, certainly, and its roof, and also the covering, the rings, and the panels with the bars, the tent pegs and the bases,
12 and the curtains of the court, and its posts,
the ark and its bars, the propitiatory, and the veil that is drawn before it,
13 and the emerald stones,
the table with its bars and vessels, and the bread of the presence,
14 and the incense, and the anointing oil,
the lampstand to hold up the lights, its vessels and lamps, and the oil to the nourish the fire,
15 and the table and all its furniture,
the altar of incense and its bars, and the oil of unction, and the incense of aromatics, the tent at the door of the tabernacle,
16 and the candlestick for the light and all its furniture,
the altar of holocaust and its grate of brass, with the bars and vessels, the washtub and its base,
17 and the altar and all its furniture;
the curtains of the atrium, with the columns and the bases, the hanging at the doors of the vestibule,
18 and the holy garments of Aaron the priest, and the garments in which they shall do service;
the tent pegs of the tabernacle and the atrium, with their little cords,
19 and the garments of priesthood for the sons of Aaron and the anointing oil, and the compound incense.
the vestments, which are to be used in the ministry of the Sanctuary, the vestments of Aaron, the high priest, as well as those of his sons, in order to exercise the priesthood to me.”
20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel went out from Moses. And they brought, they whose heart prompted them, and they to whoever it seemed good in their mind, each and offering:
And all the multitude of the sons of Israel, departing from the sight of Moses,
21 and they brought an offering to the Lord for all the works of the tabernacle of witness, and all its services, and for all the robes of the sanctuary.
offered the first-fruits to the Lord with a most ready and devout mind, to accomplish the work of the tabernacle of the testimony. Whatever was needed for worship and for the holy vestments,
22 And the men, even every one to whom it seemed good in his heart, brought from the women, [even] brought seals and ear-rings, and finger-rings, and necklaces, and bracelets, every article of gold.
men along with women provided: arm bands and earrings, rings and bracelets. And every vessel of gold was separated, to be donated to the Lord.
23 And all as many as brought ornaments of gold to the Lord, and with whoever fine linen was found; and they brought skins [dyed] blue, and rams' skins dyed red.
If anyone had hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, fine linen and the hair of goats, the skins of rams, dyed red, and violet skins,
24 And every one that offered an offering brought silver and brass, the offerings to the Lord; and [they] with whom was found incorruptible wood; and they brought [offerings] for all the works of the preparation.
metal of silver and brass, they offered it to the Lord, along with setim wood for various uses.
25 And every woman skilled in her heart to spin with her hands, brought spun [articles], the blue, and purple, and scarlet and fine linen.
But the skillful women also gave whatever they had spun: hyacinth, purple, and vermillion, as well as fine linen,
26 And all the women to whom it seemed good in their heart in their wisdom, spun the goats' hair.
and the hair of goats, donating everything of their own accord.
27 And the rulers brought the emerald stones, and the stones for setting in the ephod, and the oracle,
Yet truly, the leaders offered onyx stones and gems, for the ephod and the breastplate,
28 and the compounds both for the anointing oil, and the composition of the incense.
and aromatics and oil, to maintain the lights, and to prepare ointment, and also to produce incense with a most sweet odor.
29 And every man and woman whose mind inclined them to come in and do all the works as many as the Lord appointed them to do by Moses—[they] the children of Israel brought an offering to the Lord.
All the men and women offered donations with a devout mind, so that the works might be done which the Lord had ordered by the hand of Moses. All the sons of Israel dedicated voluntary offerings to the Lord.
30 And Moses said to the children of Israel, Behold, God has called by name Beseleel the [son] of Urias the [son of] Or, of the tribe of Juda,
And Moses said to the sons of Israel: “Behold, the Lord has called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah,
31 and has filled him with a divine spirit of wisdom and understanding, and knowledge of all things,
and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, and understanding, and knowledge, and all teaching,
32 to labor skillfully in all works of cunning workmanship, to form the gold and the silver and the brass,
to design and to fashion, with gold and silver and brass,
33 and to work in stone, and to fashion the wood, and to work in every work of wisdom.
and with engraving stones, and with the skill of a carpenter. Whatever can be skillfully invented,
34 And [God] gave improvement in understanding both to him, and to Eliab the [son] of Achisamach of the tribe of Dan.
he has given to his heart. It is likewise with Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach from the tribe of Dan.
35 And [God] filled them with wisdom, understanding [and] perception, to understand to work all the works of the sanctuary, and to weave the woven and embroidered work with scarlet and fine linen, to do all work of curious workmanship [and] embroidery.
He has taught both of them wisdom, in order to do the work of carpentry, tapestry, and embroidery, from hyacinth, and purple, and twice-dyed scarlet, and fine linen, and every textile, and to discover whatever may be new.”
