Esther 7
1 So the king and Aman went in to drink with the queen.
Vindo pois o rei com Haman, para beber com a rainha Esther,
2 And the king said to Esther at the banquet on the second day, What is it, queen Esther? and what [is] your request, and what [is] your petition? and it shall be [done] for you, to the half of my kingdom.
Disse também o rei a Esther no segundo dia, no banquete do vinho: Qual é a tua petição, rainha Esther? e se te dará: e qual é o teu requerimento? até metade do reino, se fará.
3 And she answered and said, If I have found favor in the sight of the king, let [my] life be granted to my petition, and my people to my request.
Então respondeu a rainha Esther, e disse: Se, ó rei, achei graça aos teus olhos, e se bem parecer ao rei, dê-se-me a minha vida como minha petição, e o meu povo como meu requerimento.
4 For both I and my people are sold for destruction, and pillage, and slavery; [both] we and our children for bondmen and bondwomen: and I consented not to it, for the [is] not worthy of the king's palace.
Porque estamos vendidos, eu e o meu povo, para nos destruírem, matarem, e lançarem a perder: se ainda por servos e por servas nos vendessem, calar-me-ia; ainda que o opressor não recompensaria a perda do rei.
5 And the king said, Who [is] this that has dared to do this thing?
Então falou o rei Assuero, e disse à rainha Esther: Quem é esse? e onde está esse, cujo coração o instigou a assim fazer
6 And Esther said, the adversary [is] Aman, this wicked man. Then Aman was troubled before the king and the queen.
E disse Esther: O homem, o opressor, e o inimigo, é este mau Haman. Então Haman se perturbou perante o rei e a rainha.
7 And the king rose up from the banquet to go into the garden: and Aman began to entreat the queen; for he saw that he was in an evil case.
E o rei no seu furor se levantou do banquete do vinho para o jardim do palácio; e Haman se pôs em pé, para rogar à rainha Esther pela sua vida; porque viu que já o mal lhe era determinado pelo rei.
8 And the king returned from the garden; and Aman had fallen upon the bed, intreating the queen. And the king said, Will you even force [my] wife in my house? And when Aman heard it, he changed countenance.
Tornando pois o rei do jardim do palácio à casa do banquete do vinho, Haman tinha caído prostrado sobre o leito em que estava Esther. Então disse o rei: Porventura quereria ele também forçar a rainha perante mim nesta casa? Saindo esta palavra da boca do rei, cobriram a Haman o rosto.
9 And Bugathan, one of the chamberlains, said to the king, Behold, Aman has also prepared a gallows for Mardochaeus, who spoke concerning the king, and a gallows of fifty cubits high has been set up in the premises of Aman. And the king said, Let him be hanged thereon.
Então disse Harbona, um dos eunucos que serviam diante do rei: Eis aqui também a forca de cincoênta côvados de altura que Haman fizera para mardoqueu, que falara para bem do rei, está junto à casa de Haman. Então disse o rei: enforcai-o nela.
10 So Aman was hanged on the gallows that had been prepared for Mardochaeus: and then the king's wrath was appeased.
Enforcaram pois a Haman na forca, que ele tinha preparado para mardoqueu. Então o furor do rei se aplacou.
