Deuteronomy 15
1 Every seven years you shall make a release.
Am Ende von sieben Jahren sollst du einen Erlaß stattfinden lassen.
2 And this [is] the ordinance of the release: you shall remit every private debt which your neighbor owes you, and you shall not ask payment of it from your brother; for it has been called a release to the Lord your God.
Und zwar hat es mit dem Erlasse folgende Bewandtnis: Jeder Gläubiger soll das Handdarlehen, das er seinem Nächsten gewährt hat, erlassen; er soll seinen Nächsten und Volksgenossen nicht drängen, denn man hat einen Erlaß zu Ehren Jahwes ausgerufen.
3 Of a stranger you shall ask again whatever he has of your, but to your brother you shall remit his debt to you.
Den Ausländer magst du drängen, das aber, was du von deinem Volksgenossen zu fordern hast, sollst du erlassen.
4 For [thus] there shall not be a poor person in the midst of you, for the Lord your God will surely bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you by inheritance, that you should inherit it.
Jedoch es wird keine Armen unter dir geben, - denn Jahwe wird dich reichlich segnen in dem Lande, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, zum Erbbesitze geben wird, daß du es einnehmest,
5 And if you shall indeed listen to the voice of the Lord your God, to keep and do all these commandments, as many as I charge you this day,
falls du nur wirklich der Stimme Jahwes, deines Gottes, gehorchst, indem du auf die Befolgung aller dieser Gebote, die ich dir heute gebe, achtest.
6 (for the Lord your God has blessed you in the way of which he spoke to you, ) then you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
Denn Jahwe, dein Gott, hat dir den Segen verliehen, wie er dir verheißen hat, so daß du vielen Völkern leihen wirst, selber aber nicht zu entlehnen brauchst, und daß du über viele Völker herrschen wirst; über dich aber soll keines herrschen.
7 And if there shall be in the midst of you a poor [man] of your brethren in one of your cities in the land, which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, neither shall you by any means close up your hand from your brother who is in lack.
Wenn es unter dir einen Armen giebt, irgend einen deiner Volksgenossen in einer deiner Ortschaften in deinem Lande, das Jahwe, dein Gott, dir giebt, so sollst du nicht hartherzig sein und deine Hand vor deinem armen Volksgenossen nicht verschließen,
8 You shall surely open your hands to him, and shall lend to him as much as he wants according to his need.
sondern vielmehr deine Hand für ihn aufthun und ihm gerne leihen, so viel er in seinem Mangel bedarf, der ihn betroffen hat.
9 Take heed to yourself that there be not a secret thing in your heart, an iniquity, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, draws near; and your eye shall be evil to your brother that is in lack, and you shall not give to him, and he shall cry against you to the Lord, and there shall be great sin in you.
Hüte dich, daß nicht in deinem Herzen ein nichtswürdiger Gedanke aufsteige, nämlich: Das siebente Jahr, das Jahr des Erlasses, ist nahe! und daß du nicht einen mißgünstigen Blick auf deinen armen Volksgenossen werfest und ihm nichts gebest; wenn er dann deinetwegen zu Jahwe schreit, so wird eine Verschuldung auf dir lasten.
10 You shall surely give to him, and you shall lend him as much as he wants, according as he is in need; and you shall not grudge in your heart as you give to him, because on this account the Lord your God will bless you in all your works, and in all things on which you shall lay your hand.
Vielmehr geben sollst du ihm und sollst, wenn du ihm giebst, nicht verdrießlichen Sinnes sein; denn um solcher That willen wird dich Jahwe, dein Gott, segnen bei allem deinem Thun und bei allem, was deine Hand unternimmt.
11 For the poor shall not fail off your land, therefore I charge you to do this thing, saying, You shall surely open your hands to your poor brother, and to him that is distressed upon your land.
Denn niemals wird es im Land an Armen fehlen; darum gebiete ich dir: Thue gern für deinen dürftigen und armen Volksgenossen in deinem Lande deine Hand auf!
12 And if your brother [or sister], a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, be sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall send him out free from you.
Wenn sich dir einer deiner VoIksgenossen, ein Hebräer oder eine Hebräerin, verkauft, so soll er sechs Jahre dein Sklave sein, im siebenten Jahre aber sollst du ihn frei ausgehen lassen.
13 And when you shall send him out free from you, you shall not send him out empty.
Und wenn du ihn frei ausgehen lässest, so sollst du ihn nicht leer ziehen lassen.
14 You shall give him provision for the way from your flock, and from your corn, and from your wine; as the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.
Vielmehr sollst du ihm von deinen Schafen, von deiner Tenne und aus deiner Kelter eine gehörige Last mitgeben. Womit dich Jahwe, dein Gott, gesegnet hat, davon sollst du ihm geben
15 And you shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you from thence; therefore I charge you to do this thing.
und sollst daran denken, daß du auch Sklave warst in Ägypten, und Jahwe, dein Gott, dich freigemacht hat; deshalb gebiete ich dir heute Solches.
16 And if he should say to you, I will not go out from you, because he continues to love you and your house, because he is well with you;
Falls er aber zu dir sagt: Ich will nicht von dir wegziehen, - weil er dich und dein Haus lieb gewonnen hat, da es ihm wohl bei dir war, -
17 then you shall take an awl, and bore his ear through to the door, and he shall be your servant for ever; and in like manner shall you do to your maidservant.
so nimm den Pfriemen und bohre ihn durch sein Ohr in die Thüre, so ist er dann für immer dein Sklave, und auch mit deiner Sklavin sollst du so verfahren.
18 It shall not seem hard to you when they are sent out free from you, because [your servant] has served you six years according to the annual hire of a hireling; so the Lord your God shall bless you in all things whatever you may do.
Es darf dir nicht schwer fallen, wenn du ihn frei ausgehen lassen mußt, denn, was an Wert das doppelte des Lohns eines Tagelöhners ausmacht, hat er dir sechs Jahre lang abverdient; und so wird dich Jahwe, dein Gott, segnen in allem, was du thust.
19 Every firstborn that shall be born among your kine and your sheep, you shall sanctify the males to the Lord your God; you shall not work with your firstborn calf, and you shall not shear the firstborn of your sheep.
Jedes männliche erstgeborne Stück, das dir unter deinen Rindern und Schafen geboren wird, sollst du Jahwe, deinem Gotte, weihen; mit den erstgebornen deiner Rinder darfst du nicht arbeiten und die erstgebornen deiner Schafe darfst du nicht scheren.
20 You shall eat it before the Lord year by year in the place which the Lord your God shall choose, you and your house.
An der Stätte, die Jahwe erwählt hat, mußt du sie Jahr für Jahr mit deiner Familie vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, verzehren.
21 And if there be in it a blemish, if it be lame or blind, an evil blemish, you shall not sacrifice it to the Lord your God.
Und wenn sie einen Makel haben, lahm oder blind sind oder irgend einen anderen schlimmen Makel haben, so darfst du sie Jahwe, deinem Gotte, nicht opfern.
22 You shall eat it in your cities; the unclean in you and the clean shall eat it in like manner, as the doe or the stag.
An deinem Wohnorte mußt du solche essen, der Unreine so gut, wie der Reine, wie eine Gazelle oder einen Hirsch.
23 Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.
Nur ihr Blut darfst du nicht genießen; auf die Erde mußt du es fließen lassen wie Wasser.
