Deuteronomy 14
1 You are the children of the Lord your God: you shall not make any baldness between you eyes for the dead.
Voi sunteţi copiii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru, să nu vă faceţi tăieturi, nici să nu faceţi chelie între ochi pentru un mort.
2 For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord your God has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself of all the nations on the face of the earth.
Pentru că tu eşti un popor sfânt pentru DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău şi pe tine te-a ales să îi fii un popor deosebit, mai mult decât toate naţiunile care sunt pe faţa pământului.
3 You shall not eat any abominable thing.
Să nu mănânci niciun lucru urâcios.
4 These [are] the beasts which you shall eat; the calf of the herd, and lamb of the sheep, and kid of the goats;
Acestea sunt animalele pe care să le mănânci: boul, oaia şi capra,
5 the stag, and doe, and pygarg, and wild goat, and camelopard.
Cerbul şi căprioara şi antilopa şi capra sălbatică şi capra de munte şi boul sălbatic şi gazela.
6 Every beast that divides the hoofs, and makes claws of two divisions, and that chews the cud among beasts, these you shall eat.
Şi fiecare animal care are copita despicată şi piciorul complet despărţit în două copite şi care rumegă, pe acestea să le mâncaţi.
7 And these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, and of those that divide the hoofs, and make distinct claws; the camel, and the hare, and the rabbit; because they chew the cud, and do not divide the hoof, these are unclean to you.
Totuşi pe acestea să nu le mâncaţi din cele care rumegă şi din cele care au copita despicată: cămila şi iepurele de câmp şi iepurele de stâncă, pentru că rumegă, dar nu au copita despicată, ele vă sunt necurate.
8 And as for the swine, because he divides the hoof, and makes claws of the hoof, yet he chews not the cud, he is unclean to you; you shall not eat of their flesh, you shall not touch their dead bodies.
Şi porcul vă este necurat, pentru că are copita despicată, dar nu rumegă; să nu mâncaţi din carnea lor, nici să nu vă atingeţi de trupul lor mort.
9 And these you shall eat of all that are in the water, you shall eat all that have fins and scales.
Pe acestea să le mâncaţi dintre toate câte sunt în ape: să mâncaţi tot ce are aripioare şi solzi,
10 And all that have not fins and scales you shall not eat; they are unclean to you.
Şi orice nu are aripioare şi solzi să nu mâncaţi; vă sunt necurate.
11 You shall eat every clean bird.
Din toate păsările curate să mâncaţi.
12 And these of them you shall not eat; the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,
Dar acestea sunt cele din care să nu mâncaţi: acvila şi vulturul bărbos şi vulturul pescar;
13 and the vulture, and the kite and the like to it,
Şi şoimul şi uliul şi vulturul după felul său;
Şi orice corb după felul său;
15 and the sparrow, and the owl, and the cormorant,
Şi bufniţa şi şoimul de noapte şi cucul şi şoimul după felul său;
16 and the heron, and the swan, and the stork,
Şi cucuveaua şi bufniţa mare şi lebăda;
17 and the cormorant, and the hawk, and its like, and the hoopoe, and the raven,
Şi pelicanul şi vulturul egiptean şi cormoranul;
18 and the pelican, and the diver and the like to it, and the red-bill and the bat.
Şi barza şi stârcul după felul său şi nagâţul şi liliacul.
19 All winged animals that creep are unclean to you; you shall not eat of them.
Şi orice târâtoare care zboară vă este necurată; să nu se mănânce.
20 You shall eat every clean bird.
Dar din toate păsările curate puteţi să mâncaţi.
21 You shall eat nothing that dies of itself; it shall be given to the sojourner in your cities and he shall eat it, or you shall sell it to a stranger, because you are a holy people to the Lord your God. You shall not boil a lamb in his mother's milk.
Să nu mâncaţi din nimic ce moare de la sine; să îl dai străinului care este înăuntrul porţilor tale, ca să îl mănânce sau să îl vinzi unui străin, pentru că tu eşti un popor sfânt pentru DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău. Să nu fierbi un ied în laptele mamei sale.
22 You shall tithe a tenth of all the produce of your seed, the fruit of your field year by year.
Să dai cu adevărat zeciuială din tot venitul seminţei tale, pe care câmpul tău îl dă an de an.
23 And you shall eat it in the place which the Lord your God shall choose to have his name called there; you shall bring the tithe of your corn and of your wine, and of your oil, the firstborn of your herd and of your flock, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.
Şi să mănânci înaintea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, în locul pe care îl va alege el să îşi pună numele acolo, zeciuiala din grânele tale, din vinul tău şi din untdelemnul tău şi întâii născuţi din cirezile tale şi din turmele tale, ca să înveţi să te temi de DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău în toate zilele.
24 And if the journey be too far for you, and you are not able to bring them, because the place [is] far from you which the Lord your God shall choose to have his name called there, because the Lord your God will bless you;
Şi dacă este prea lung drumul pentru tine, astfel încât nu le poţi duce, sau dacă locul pe care îl va alege DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, să îşi pună numele acolo, va fi prea departe de tine, când te va binecuvânta DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău,
25 then you shall sell them for money, and you shall take the money in your hands, and you shall go to the place which the Lord your God shall choose.
Atunci să le schimbi în bani şi banii să îi legi în mâna ta şi să mergi la locul pe care îl va alege DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
26 And you shall give the money for whatever your soul shall desire, for oxen or for sheep, or for wine, or [you shall lay it out] on strong drink, or on whatever your soul may desire, and you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice and your house,
Şi să dai acei bani pentru tot ce îţi pofteşte sufletul, pentru boi, sau pentru oi, pentru vin sau pentru băutură tare sau pentru orice îţi doreşte sufletul; şi să mănânci acolo înaintea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău şi să te bucuri, tu şi casa ta,
27 and the Levite that is in your cities, because he has not a portion or inheritance with you.
Şi să nu îl părăseşti pe levitul care este înăuntrul porţilor tale, pentru că el nu are nici parte nici moştenire cu tine.
28 After three years you shall bring out all the tithes of your fruits, in that year you shall lay it up in your cities.
La sfârşitul a trei ani să scoţi toată zeciuiala venitului tău din anul acela şi să o pui înăuntrul porţilor tale.
29 And the Levite shall come, because he has no part or lot with you, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow which is in your cities; and they shall eat and be filled, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the works which you shall do.
Şi să vină levitul, (pentru că el nu are nici parte nici moştenire cu tine) şi străinul şi cel fără tată şi văduva, care sunt înăuntrul porţilor tale, şi să mănânce şi să se sature, ca DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău să te binecuvânteze în toată lucrarea mâinii tale pe care o faci.
