Deuteronomy 12
1 And these [are] the ordinances and the judgments, which you shall observe to do in the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives you for an inheritance, all the days which you live upon the land.
Dette er de Anordninger og Lovbud, I omhyggeligt skal handle efter i det Land, HERREN, dine Fædres Gud, giver dig i Eje, saa længe I lever paa Jorden.
2 You shall utterly destroy all the places in which they served their gods, whose [land] you inherit, on the high mountains and on the hills, and under the thick tree.
I skal i Bund og Grund ødelægge alle de Steder, hvor de Folk, I driver bort, dyrker deres Guder, paa de høje Bjerge, paa Højene og under alle grønne Træer!
3 And you shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and you shall cut down their groves, and you shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods, and you shall abolish their name out of that place.
I skal nedbryde deres Altre og sønderslaa deres Stenstøtter, I skal opbrænde deres Asjerastøtter og omhugge deres Gudebilleder og udrydde deres Navn fra hvert saadant Sted.
4 You shall not do so to the Lord your God.
I maa ikke bære eder saaledes ad over for HERREN eders Gud;
5 But in the place which the Lord your God shall choose in one of your cities to name his name there, and to be called upon, you shall even seek [him] out and go there.
men til det Sted, HERREN eders Gud udvælger blandt alle eders Stammer for at stedfæste sit Navn og lade det bo der, skal I søge, og der skal du gaa hen;
6 And you shall carry there your whole burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your first fruits, and your vowed-offerings, and your free will offerings, and your offerings of thanksgiving, the firstborn of your herds, and of your flocks.
derhen skal I bringe eders Brændofre og Slagtofre, eders Tiender og Offerydelser, eders Løfteofre og Frivilligofre og de førstefødte af eders Hornkvæg og Smaakvæg;
7 And you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice in all the things on which you shall lay your hand, you and your houses, as the Lord your God has blessed you.
der skal I holde Maaltid for HERREN eders Guds Aasyn og sammen med eders Husstand være glade over alt, hvad I erhverver, hvad HERREN din Gud velsigner dig med.
8 You shall not do altogether as we do here today, every man that which is pleasing in his own sight.
I maa ikke bære eder ad, som vi nu for Tiden gør her, hvor enhver gør, hvad han finder for godt;
9 For hitherto you have not arrived at the rest and the inheritance, which the Lord our God gives you.
thi endnu er I jo ikke kommet til det Hvilested og den Arvelod, HERREN din Gud vil give dig.
10 And you shall go over Jordan, and shall dwell in the land, which the Lord our God takes as an inheritance for you; and he shall give you rest from all your enemies round about, and you shall dwell safely.
Men naar I er gaaet over Jordan og har fæstet Bo i det Land, HERREN eders Gud vil give eder til Arv, og han faar skaffet eder Ro for alle eders Fjender trindt omkring, saa I kan bo trygt,
11 And there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose for his name to be called there, there shall you bring all things that I order you today; your whole burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the first fruits of your hands, and every choice gift of yours, whatever you shall vow to the Lord your God.
da skal det Sted, HERREN eders Gud udvælger til Bolig for sit Navn, være det, hvorhen I skal bringe alt, hvad jeg paalægger eder, eders Brændofre og Slagtofre, eders Tiender og Offerydelser og alle eders udvalgte Løfteofre, som I lover HERREN;
12 And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants and your maidservants, and the Levite that is at your gates; because he has no portion or inheritance with you.
og der skal I være glade for HERREN eders Guds Aasyn sammen med eders Sønner og Døtre, eders Trælle og Trælkvinder og Leviten inden eders Porte; thi han har jo ingen Arvelod og Del som I andre.
13 Take heed to yourself that you offer not your whole burnt offerings in any place which you shall see;
Vogt dig for at ofre dine Brændofre paa et hvilket som helst Sted, dit Øje falder paa.
14 save in the place which the Lord your God shall choose, in one of your tribes, there shall you offer your whole burnt offerings, and there shall you do all things whatever I charge you this day.
Men paa det Sted HERREN udvælger i en af dine Stammer, der skal du ofre dine Brændofre, og der skal du gøre alt, hvad jeg paalægger dig.
15 But you shall kill according to all your desire, and shall eat flesh according to the blessing of the Lord your God, which he has given you in every city; the unclean that is within you and the clean shall eat it on equal terms, as the doe or the stag.
Derimod maa du, saa meget du lyster, slagte Kvæg og nyde Kød rundt om i dine Byer, alt som HERREN din Gud velsigner dig; urene og rene maa spise det, som var det Gazeller eller Hjorte.
16 Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the ground as water.
Kun Blodet maa I ikke nyde; det skal du lade løbe ud paa Jorden som Vand.
17 You shall not be able to eat in your cities the tithe of your corn, and of your wine, and of your oil, the firstborn of your herd and of your flock, and all [your] vows as many as you shall have vowed, and your thank-offerings, and the first fruits of your hands.
Men inden dine Porte maa du ikke nyde Tienden af dit Korn, din Most og din Olie eller de førstefødte af dit Hornkvæg og Smaakvæg eller noget af dine Løfteofre og Frivilligofre eller nogen af dine Offerydelser;
18 But before the Lord your God you shall eat it, in the place which the Lord your God shall choose for himself, you, and your son, and your daughter, your man-servant, and your maidservant, and the stranger that is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, on whatever you shall lay your hand.
men for HERREN din Guds Aasyn, paa det Sted, HERREN din Gud udvælger, skal du nyde alt dette sammen med din Søn og Datter, din Træl og Trælkvinde og Leviten inden dine Porte, og du skal være glad for HERREN din Guds Aasyn over alt, hvad du erhverver dig.
19 Take heed to yourself that you do not desert the Levite all the time that you live upon the earth.
Vogt dig vel for at glemme Leviten, saa længe du lever i dit Land!
20 And if the Lord your God shall enlarge your borders, as he said to you, and you shall say, I will eat flesh; if your soul should desire to eat flesh, you shall eat flesh according to all the desire of your soul.
Naar HERREN din Gud udvider dine Landemærker, som han har lovet dig, og du da faar Lyst til Kød og siger: »Jeg vil have Kød at spise«, saa spis kun Kød, saa meget du lyster.
21 And if the place be far from you, which the Lord your God shall choose for himself, that his name be called upon it, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock which God shall have given you, even as I commanded you, and you shall eat in your cities according to the desire of your soul.
Hvis det Sted, HERREN din Gud udvælger for der at stedfæste sit Navn, ligger langt fra dig, saa maa du slagte af dit Hornkvæg og Smaakvæg, som HERREN giver dig, saaledes som jeg har paalagt dig, og spise det inden dine Porte, saa meget du lyster.
22 As the doe and the stag are eaten, so shall you eat it; the unclean in you and the clean shall eat it in like manner.
Men du skal spise det, som man spiser Gazeller og Hjorte; baade urene og rene maa spise det.
23 Take diligent heed that you eat no blood, for blood [is] the life of it; the life shall not be eaten with the flesh.
Kun maa du ufravigeligt afholde dig fra at nyde Blodet; thi Blodet er Sjælen, og du maa ikke nyde Sjælen tillige med Kødet.
24 You shall not eat [it]; you shall pour it out on the ground as water.
Du maa ikke nyde det, men du skal lade det løbe ud paa Jorden som Vand.
25 You shall not eat it, that it may be well with you and with your sons after you, if you shall do that which is good and pleasing before the Lord your God.
Afhold dig fra at nyde det, for at det kan gaa dig og dine Børn efter dig vel, idet du gør, hvad der er ret i HERRENS Øjne.
26 But you shall take your holy things, if you have any, and your vowed-offerings, and come to the place which the Lord your God shall choose to have his name named upon it.
Men dine hellige Gaver og Løfteofre skal du komme med til det Sted, HERREN udvælger;
27 And you shall sacrifice your whole burnt offerings, you shall offer the flesh upon the altar of the Lord your God; but the blood of your sacrifices you shall pour out at the foot of the altar of the Lord your God, but the flesh you shall eat.
og du skal bringe dine Brændofre, baade Kødet og Blodet, paa HERREN din Guds Alter; og Blodet af dine Slagtofre skal udøses paa HERREN din Guds Alter, men Kødet maa du spise.
28 Beware and listen, and you shall do all the commands which I charge you, that it may be well with you and with your sons for ever, if you shall do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord your God.
Adlyd omhyggeligt alle disse Bud, som jeg i Dag paalægger dig, for at det kan gaa dig og dine Børn efter dig vel til evig Tid, idet du gør, hvad der er godt og ret i HERREN din Guds Øjne.
29 And if the Lord your God shall utterly destroy the nations, to whom you go in there to inherit their land, from before you, and you shall inherit it, and dwell in their land;
Naar HERREN din Gud udrydder de Folk, du drager hen at drive bort, og du har drevet dem bort og bosat dig i deres Land,
30 take heed to yourself that you seek not to follow them after they are destroyed before you, saying, How do these nations act towards their gods? I will do likewise.
saa vogt dig for at lade dig lokke til at gaa i deres Fodspor, efter at de er udryddet foran dig, og for at spørge dig for angaaende deres Guder, idet du siger: »Hvorledes plejede disse Folkeslag at dyrke deres Guder? Saaledes vil ogsaa jeg bære mig ad.«
31 You shall not do so to your God; for they have sacrificed to their gods the abominations of the Lord which he hates, for they burn their sons and their daughters in fire to their gods.
Saaledes maa du ikke bære dig ad over for HERREN din Gud; thi alt, hvad der er HERREN en Vederstyggelighed, alt, hvad han hader, har de gjort over for deres Guder; ja, de brændte endog deres Sønner og Døtre til Ære for deres Guder!
32 Every word that I command you this day, it shall you observe to do: you shall not add to it, nor diminish from it.
Alt, hvad jeg paalægger eder, skal I omhyggeligt udføre. Du maa hverken lægge noget til eller trække noget fra.
