< Amos 6 >
1 Woe to them that set at nothing Sion, and that trust in the mountain of Samaria: they have gathered [the harvest of] the heads of the nations, and they have gone in themselves.

2 O house of Israel, pass by all [of you], and see; and pass by thence to Ematrabba; and thence descend to Geth of the Philistines, the chief of all these kingdoms, [see] if their coasts are greater than your coasts.
Amavang Calneh lhang galkaijun vetem un, chuteng Hamath khopilen a chun chepaijun, chuleh Philistine khopi Gath a jong chesuh un, nangho amaho sang’a phajo nahideh pouve, vetem un, amaho iti manthah hitauvem!
3 You who are approaching the evil day, who are drawing near and adopting false sabbaths;
Nanghon nachung uva hamsetna hunglhung vahlou dingin nagel’un, ahinlah, pumhat’a nathilbol’u chun thutanna nikho chu nakiloilut loijiuve.
4 who sleep upon beds of ivory, and live delicately on their couches, and eat kids out of the flocks, and sucking calves out of the midst of the stalls;
Ohe ada nahiuve, saiha-a kisem jalkhun’a kijamlea, chuleh nomtah’a kijaole ho, Kelngoinou lah’a adei dei kitha-a neho, chuleh bonghon lah’a athao adei lailai kitha-a neho,
5 who excel in the sound of musical instruments; they have regarded them as dwelling, not as fleeting [pleasures];
Nanghon selangdah tum ging toh thon lakoila pou nasa uvin, chuleh kithepsah tah in David umchan na tho uvin, tumging thei manchah nakisem thu’uve.
6 who drink strained wine, and anoint themselves with the best ointment; and have suffered nothing on occasion of the calamity of Joseph.
Nanghon khon dim dim in lengpitwi nadon’un, chuleh thao namtwi pen nakinu uvin, Na nampiu manthah chu lunggim nan nanei pouve.
7 Therefore now shall they depart into captivity from the dominion of princes, and the neighing of horses shall be cut off from Ephraim.
Hijeh’a chu, nangho gal-hing’a sohchang masapen’a napan diu, chutah leh nomtah’a khosaho chu, anopsahnau abon’a beisoh hel ding ahi.
8 For the Lord has sworn by himself, [saying], Because I abhor all the pride of Jacob, I do also hate his countries, and I will cut off [his] city with all who inhabit it.

9 And it shall come to pass, if there be ten men left in one house, that they shall die.
Ijemtia insung khat’a ahingdoh mison khat aum nahlai leh, amaho jong chu abonchauva thisoh hel diu ahi.
10 But a remnant shall be left behind, and their relations shall take them, and shall strenuously endeavor to carry forth their bones from the house: and one shall say to the heads of the house, Is there yet [any one] else with you? And he shall say, No [one] else. And [the other] shall say, Be silent, that you name not the name of the Lord.

11 For, behold, the Lord commands, and he will strike the great house with breaches, and the little house with rents.
Ajeh chu vetan, in loupitah tah hojong ahalsi sia kisugep ding, chuleh in neocha cha hojong kivo goisoh hel ding ahiuve,’’ tin Pakaiyin thupeh anei tai.
12 Will horses run upon rocks? will they refrain from neighing at mares? for you have turned judgment into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness:
Songpi chunga khu sakolte chomle le thei mong’a, hiche lah chu bongchal in loukaina-a akaithei mong ding ham? Hitobang chun, nanghon ngolhoi tah in, thu adih’a kitan chu thina gu-twi na sosah uvin, chuleh adihtah’a hung ga doh twitah chu nehmohel khacheh-chuh na sodoh gam tauvin ahi.
13 you who rejoice at vanity, who say, Have we not possessed horns by our own strength?
Chuleh nanghon Lo-debar chunga nagaljonau chu nakithang-at piuvin, kiletsahtah in, eihon eiho thahat’a karnaim chu ilah’u hilou ham? na kitiuve.
14 For behold, O house of Israel, I will raise up against you a nation, says the Lord of hosts; and they shall afflict you so that you shall not enter into Aemath, and as it were [from] the river of the wilderness.
“Vo Israel mite, nangho douding melma namkhat katildoh ding ahi,’’ tin Pakai van Pathen chun aseiye. ‘’Amahon nangho nagamsung uva nasuh genthei diu, sahlam’a Leb-hamath apat noilam’a Arabah phaicham geija nasuh genthei diu ahi,’’ati.
