Kings II 20
1 And there was a transgressor [so] called there, and his name was Sabee, a Benjamite, the son of Bochori: and he blew the trumpet, and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we [any] inheritance in the son of Jessae: to your tents, O Israel, every one.
೧ಆಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ ಕುಲದವನೂ, ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಶೆಬನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ದುಷ್ಟಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೋ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಕಹಳೆಯನ್ನು ಊದಿ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ, ದಾವೀದನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಪಾಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ವತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ” ಎಂದನು.
2 And all the men of Israel went up from following David after Sabee the son of Bochori: but the men of Juda adhered to their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
೨ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಿಂದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರು.
3 And David went into his house at Jerusalem: and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and he put them in a place of custody, and maintained them, and went not in to them; and they were kept living as widows, till the day of their death.
೩ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಾನು ಅರಮನೆ ಕಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನವಸ್ತ್ರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಸಂಗಮಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವವರೆಗೂ ವಿಧೆವೆಯರಂತಿದ್ದು ಕಾವಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕಾಯಿತು.
4 And the king said to Amessai, Call to me the men of Juda for three days, and do you be present here.
೪ಅನಂತರ ಅರಸನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
5 And Amessai went to call Juda, and delayed beyond the time which David appointed him.
೫ಅಮಾಸನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ನೇಮಕವಾದ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದೆ ತಡಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ
6 And David said to Amessai, Now shall Sabee the son of Bochori do us more harm than Abessalom: now then take you with you the servants of your lord, and follow after him, lest he find for himself strong cities, so will he blind our eyes.
೬ಅರಸನು ಅಬೀಷೈಗೆ, “ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗಿಂತ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವಂತಿದೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಆಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿಜಡಿಸು. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡಾನು” ಎಂದನು.
7 And there went out after him Amessai and the men of Joab, and the Cherethites, and the Phelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sabee the son of Bochori.
೭ಆಗ ಅವನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೂ, ಕೆರೇತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಕಾವಲು ದಂಡುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶೂರರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟರು.
8 And they [were] by the great stone that is in Gabaon: and Amessai went in before them: and Joab had upon him a military cloak over his apparel, and over it he was girded with a dagger fastened upon his loins in its scabbard: and the dagger came out, it even came out and fell.
೮ಅವರು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅಮಾಸನು ಅವನೆದುರು ಬಂದನು. ಯುದ್ಧವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ವಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅವನ ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಕತ್ತಿಯೂ ಒರೆಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿತು.
9 And Joab said to Amessai, Are you in health, [my] brother? and the right hand of Joab took hold of the beard of Amessai to kiss him.
೯ಅವನು ಅಮಾಸನನ್ನು, “ಸಹೋದರನೇ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಬಲಗೈಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು,
10 And Amessai observed not the dagger that was in the hand of Joab: and Joab struck him with it on the loins, and his bowels were shed out upon the ground, and he did not repeat the blow, and he died: and Joab and Abessai his brother pursued after Sabee the son of Bochori.
೧೦ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸದಿದ್ದ ಅಮಾಸನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ತಿವಿದನು. ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಕರಳುಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದವು. ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ತಿವಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು. ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆದಾಗ,
11 And there stood over him one of the servants of Joab, and said, Who [is] he that is for Joab, and who [is] on the side of David following Joab?
೧೧ಯೋವಾಬನ ಆಳುಗಳಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬನು ಅಮಾಸನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತು, “ದಾವೀದ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೋವಾಬರ ಕಡೆಯವರು ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದನು
12 And Amessai [was] weltering in blood in the midst of the way. And a man saw that all the people stood still; and he removed Amessai out of the path into a field, and he cast a garment upon him, because he saw every one that came to him standing still.
೧೨ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರಳಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅಮಾಸನನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ನಿಂತರು. ಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಆ ಆಳು ಅಮಾಸನ ಶವವನ್ನು ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಎಳೆದು, ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದನು.
13 And when he was quickly removed from the road, every man of Israel passed after Joab to pursue after Sabee the son of Bochori.
೧೩ಶವವನ್ನು ಆಚೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ನಂತರ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೊಸ್ಕರ ಯೋವಾಬನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Bethmacha; and all in Charri too were assembled, and followed after him.
೧೪ಶೆಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಆಬೇಲ್, ಬೇತ್ಮಾಕಾಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದನು. ಬೇರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನೊಡನೆ ಆ ಊರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದರು.
15 And they came and besieged him in Abel and Phermacha: and they raised a mound against the city and it stood close to the wall; and all the people with Joab proposed to throw down the wall.
೧೫ಯೋವಾಬನ ಕಡೆಯವರು ಆಬೇಲ್ ಬೇತ್ಮಾಕಾಕ್ಕೆ ಊರಿಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಊರು ಗೋಡೆಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಒಂದು ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
16 And a wise woman cried from the wall, and said, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, to Joab, Draw near hither, and I will speak to him.
೧೬ಆಗ ಆ ಊರಿನ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತೆಯಾದ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಹೆಂಗಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳಿರಿ. ಯೋವಾಬನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದಳು.
17 And he drew near to her, and the woman said to him, Are you Joab? and he said, I [am]. And she said to him, Hear the words of your handmaid; and Joab said, I do hear.
೧೭ಯೋವಾಬನು ಬರಲು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು, “ನೀನು ಯೋವಾಬನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು “ಹೌದು ನಾನೇ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆಕೆಯು, “ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳು” ಅನ್ನಲು ಅವನು, “ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
18 And she spoke, saying, Of old time they said thus, Surely one was asked in Abel, and Dan, whether the faithful in Israel failed in what they purposed; they will surely ask in Abel, even in like manner, whether they have failed.
೧೮ಆಗ ಆಕೆಯು, “ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಆಬೇಲಿನವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳೋಣ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
19 I am a peaceful one of the strong ones in Israel; but you seek to destroy a city and a mother city in Israel: why do you seek to ruin the inheritance of the Lord?
೧೯ನಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನವುಳ್ಳದ್ದೂ, ರಾಜನಿಷ್ಠೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಯಿಯೆಂದು ಹೆಸರುಗೊಂಡ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವೆ. ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸ್ವತ್ತನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದಳು.
20 And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should ruin or destroy.
೨೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾಬನು, “ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವುದಾಗಲಿ, ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಅಂಥದ್ದು ಬೇಡವೇ ಬೇಡ.
21 Is not the case thus, that a man of mount Ephraim, Sabee, son of Bochori by name, has even lifted up his hand against king David? Give him only to me, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to you over the wall.
೨೧ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮಿನ ಪರ್ವತಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನೆಂಬುವವನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೈಯೆತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಊರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ನೋಡು ಈಗಲೇ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಕಿಂಡಿಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಒಗೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು,
22 And the woman went in to all the people, and she spoke to all the city in her wisdom; and they took off the head of Sabee the son of Bochori; and took it away and threw it to Joab: and he blew the trumpet, and the people separated from the city away from him, every man to his tent: and Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.
೨೨ತನ್ನ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿವೇಕದೊಡನೆ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಳು. ಅವರು ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಯೋವಾಬನಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಎಸೆದರು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವನು ಕಹಳೆಯನ್ನು ಊದಿಸಿದನು. ಜನರು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
23 And Joab [was] over all the forces of Israel: and Banaias the son of Jodae [was] over the Cherethites and over the Phelethites.
೨೩ಯೋವಾಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿ. ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಕೆರೇತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡುಗಳ ಅಧಿಪತಿ.
24 And Adoniram [was] over the tribute: and Josaphath the son of Achiluth [was] recorder.
೨೪ಅದೋರಾಮನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೀಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಸುವವನು. ಅಹೀಲೂದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ದಾಖಲೆಮಾಡುವ ಲೇಖಕ.
25 And Susa [was] scribe: and Sadoc and Abiathar [were] priests.
೨೫ಶೆವನು ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, ಚಾದೋಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರರು ಯಾಜಕರು.
26 Moreover Iras the [son of] Iarin was priest to David.
೨೬ಯಾಯೀರಿನವನಾದ ಈರನೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಯಾಜಕನು.
