Kings IV 8
1 And Elisaie spoke to the woman, whose son he [had] restored to life, saying, Arise, and go you and your house, and sojourn wherever you may sojourn: for the Lord has called for a famine upon the land; indeed it is come upon the land [for] seven years.
एलीशा ने जिस स्त्री के पुत्र को जीवित किया था, उससे वह कह चुके थे, “यहां से अपनी गृहस्थी लेकर जहां चाहे वहां चली जाओ! क्योंकि याहवेह की ओर से इस देश पर एक अकाल भेजा जा रहा है और जिसकी अवधि सात साल की होगी.”
2 And the woman arose, and did according to the word of Elisaie, both she and her house; and they sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
तब उस स्त्री ने परमेश्वर के जन के आदेश के अनुसार ही किया. वह अपनी सारी गृहस्थी को लेकर फिलिस्तीनियों के देश में रहने लगी.
3 And it came to pass after the expiration of the seven years, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines to the city; and came to cry to the king for her house and for her lands.
सात साल पूरे होने पर जब वह फिलिस्तीनियों के देश से लौटकर आई, उसने राजा से भेंटकर अपनी भूमि और घर के वापस लेने की विनती की.
4 And the king spoke to Giezi the servant of Elisaie the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray you, all the great things which Elisaie has done.
इस समय राजा परमेश्वर के जन के सेवक गेहज़ी से बातें करने में मगन था, वह कह रहा था, “मुझे एलीशा द्वारा किए गए सभी अद्धुत कामों के बारे में बताओ.”
5 And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored to life the dead son, behold, the woman whose son Elisaie restored to life [came] crying to the king for her house and for her lands. And Giezi said, My lord, O king, this [is] the woman, and this [is] her son, whom Elisaie restored to life.
जब गेहज़ी, एलीशा द्वारा मृतक को जीवित किए जाने की घटना को बता रहा था, ठीक उसी समय पर यह स्त्री अपनी संपत्ति के वापस मिलने का आग्रह लेकर आ उपस्थित हुई. उसे देख गेहज़ी कह उठा, “महाराज, मेरे स्वामी, यही तो है, वह स्त्री और यही है उसका वह पुत्र, जिसे एलीशा ने जीवित किया है.”
6 And the king asked the woman, and she told him: and the king appointed her a eunuch, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field from the day that she left the land until now.
राजा द्वारा उस स्त्री से पूछताछ किए जाने पर उस स्त्री ने सारी बातों का ब्यौरा कर दिया. तब राजा ने उसके लिए इस आदेश के साथ एक अधिकारी नियुक्त कर दिया, “जो कुछ इस स्त्री का था, वह सब इसे लौटा दिया जाए, और जिस दिन से यह देश छोड़कर गई थी तब से आज तक की भूमि की सारी उपज भी.”
7 And Elisaie came to Damascus; and the king of Syria the son of Ader was ill, and they brought him word, saying, The man of God is come here.
एलीशा दमेशेक आए. अराम का राजा बेन-हदद बीमार था. उसे यह सूचना दी गई, “परमेश्वर के जन यहां आए हुए हैं.”
8 And the king said to Azael, Take in your hand a present, and go to meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this my disease?
राजा ने हाज़ाएल को आदेश दिया, “अपने साथ भेंट लेकर परमेश्वर के जन के पास चले जाओ. उनके द्वारा याहवेह से यह मालूम करो कि मुझे इस रोग से मुक्ति मिल जाएगी या नहीं?”
9 And Azael went to meet him, and he took a present in his hand, and all the good things of Damascus, forty camels' load, and came and stood before him, and said to Elisaie, Your son the son of Ader, the king of Syria, has sent me to you to enquire, saying, Shall I recover of this my disease?
तब हाज़ाएल दमेशेक की हर एक प्रकार की उत्कृष्ट वस्तुएं ऊंटों पर लदवाकर भेंट के लिए चल पड़ा. जब वह वहां पहुंचकर एलीशा के सामने खड़ा हुआ, उसने परमेश्वर के जन से विनती की, “मुझे आपके पुत्र अराम के राजा बेन-हदद ने भेजा है, उन्होंने पूछा है, ‘क्या मुझे इस रोग से मुक्ति मिल जाएगी?’”
10 And Elisaie said, Go, say, You shall certainly live; yet the Lord has showed me that you shall surely die.
एलीशा ने उसे उत्तर दिया, “जाकर उनसे कहो, ‘आप रोगमुक्त तो अवश्य हो जाएंगे,’ किंतु वस्तुतः याहवेह ने मुझ पर यह प्रकट किया है कि निश्चयतः उसकी मृत्यु हो जाएगी.”
11 And he stood before him, and fixed [his countenance] till he was ashamed: and the man of God wept.
तब एलीशा हाज़ाएल की ओर तब तक टकटकी बांधकर देखते रहे, जब तक हाज़ाएल लज्जित न हो गया. तब परमेश्वर का जन रोने लगा.
12 And Azael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know all the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: you will utterly destroy their strong holds with fire, and you will kill their choice men with the sword, and you will dash their infants [against the ground], and their women with child you will rip up.
हाज़ाएल ने उनसे पूछा, “मेरे स्वामी, आप रोने क्यों लगे?” एलीशा ने उत्तर दिया, “क्योंकि वह बुरा, जो तुम इस्राएली प्रजा के साथ करोगे, मैं उसे जानता हूं. तुम उनके गढ़ों में आग लगा दोगे, तुम तलवार से उनके युवाओं की हत्या कर दोगे, उनके शिशुओं को पटक-पटक कर टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दोगे और गर्भवती स्त्रियों का पेट चीर दोगे.”
13 And Azael said, Who is your servant? a dead dog, that he should do this thing? And Elisaie said, The Lord has shown me you ruling over Syria.
हाज़ाएल ने उनसे कहा, “आपका सेवक है ही क्या, मात्र एक कुत्ता, जो वह इस सीमा तक पतित कार्य करे?” एलीशा ने उत्तर दिया, “याहवेह ने मुझ पर यह प्रकट किया है कि तुम अराम के राजा हो जाओगे.”
14 And he departed from Elisaie, and went in to his lord; and he said to him, What said Elisaie to you? and he said, He said to me, You shall surely live.
तब हाज़ाएल एलीशा की उपस्थिति से जाकर अपने स्वामी की उपस्थिति में पहुंचा. राजा ने उससे पूछा, “क्या कहा है एलीशा ने तुमसे?” उसने उत्तर दिया, “उन्होंने कहा है कि आप ज़रूर निरोगी हो जाएंगे.”
15 And it came to pass on the next day that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and put it on his face, and he died: and Azael reigned in his stead.
दूसरे दिन हाज़ाएल ने एक कंबल ले उसे जल में डुबोया, और बेन-हदद के मुख पर फैला दिया और उसे वहीं रहने दिया जब तक उसकी मृत्यु न हो गई. तब हाज़ाएल उसके स्थान पर राजा बन गया.
16 In the fifth year of Joram son of Achaab king of Israel, and while Josaphat was king of Juda, Joram the son of Josaphat king of Juda began to reign.
इस्राएल के राजा अहाब के पुत्र योराम के शासनकाल के पांचवें साल में, यहोशाफ़ात के पुत्र यहोराम ने यहूदिया पर शासन शुरू किया.
17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
जब वह राजा बना, उसकी उम्र बत्तीस साल थी, और उसने येरूशलेम में आठ साल शासन किया.
18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Achaab; for the daughter of Achaab was his wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.
उसका आचरण इस्राएल के राजाओं के समान था. उसने वही किया, जो अहाब के वंश ने किया था; क्योंकि उसने अहाब की पुत्री से विवाह किया था. वह वही करता था जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत था.
19 But the Lord would not destroy Juda for David his servant's sake, as he said he would give a light to him and to his sons continually.
फिर भी दावीद से की गई अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के कारण याहवेह यहूदिया को नष्ट नहीं करना चाहते थे. याहवेह ने प्रतिज्ञा की थी कि, दावीद और उनके पुत्रों के लिए एक दीपक सदैव जलाए रखेंगे.
20 In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Juda, and they made a king over themselves.
यहोराम का शासनकाल में एक मौका ऐसा आया, जब एदोम ने यहूदिया के विरुद्ध विद्रोह कर दिया, और अपने लिए स्वयं एक राजा चुन लिया.
21 And Joram went up to Sior, and all the chariots that were with him: and it came to pass after he had arisen, that he struck Edom who compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.
इस पर यहोराम अपने रथों को लेकर ज़ईर नगर के निकट से आगे बढ़ा. उसने रात में उठकर एदोमी सेना पर हमला कर दिया, जिन्होंने उसकी सेना और सैन्य अधिकारियों को घेर लिया था, किंतु यहोराम की सेना पीठ दिखाकर भाग गई.
22 Yet Edom revolted from under the hand of Juda till this day. Then Lobna revolted at that time.
फलस्वरूप एदोम आज तक इस्राएल के विरुद्ध विद्रोह की स्थिति में है. इसी समय लिबनाह ने भी विद्रोह कर दिया था.
23 And the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?
यहोराम की बाकी उपलब्धियों और सारे कामों का ब्यौरा यहूदिया के राजाओं की इतिहास की पुस्तक में किया गया है.
24 So Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of his father David: and Ochozias his son reigned in his stead.
यहोराम अपने पूर्वजों के साथ हमेशा की नींद सो गया, और दावीद के नगर में उसके पूर्वजों के साथ उसे गाड़ा गया. उसके स्थान पर उसके पुत्र अहज़्याह ने शासन करना शुरू किया.
25 In the twelfth year of Joram son of Achaab king of Israel, Ochozias son of Joram began to reign.
इस्राएल के राजा अहाब के पुत्र योराम के शासनकाल के बारहवें साल में यहूदिया के राजा यहोराम के पुत्र अहज़्याह ने शासन करना शुरू किया.
26 Twenty and two years old [was] Ochozias when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and the name of his mother [was] Gotholia, daughter of Ambri king of Israel.
जब अहज़्याह ने शासन शुरू किया, उसकी उम्र बाईस साल थी. उसने येरूशलेम में एक साल राज्य किया. उसकी माता का नाम अथालियाह था. वह इस्राएल के राजा ओमरी की पोती थी.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Achaab, and did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did the house of Achaab.
अहज़्याह का आचरण वैसा ही था जैसा अहाब के वंश का. उसने वही किया, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में गलत था, ठीक जैसा अहाब के परिवार ने भी किया था. क्योंकि अहज़्याह अहाब के परिवार का दामाद था.
28 And he went with Joram the son of Achaab to war against Azael king of the Syrians in Remmoth Galaad; and the Syrians wounded Joram.
उसने अहाब के पुत्र योराम के साथ मिलकर अराम के राजा हाज़ाएल से रामोथ-गिलआद में युद्ध छेड़ दिया. अरामी सेना ने योराम को घायल कर दिया.
29 And king Joram returned to be healed in Jezrael of the wounds with which they wounded him in Remmoth, when he fought with Azael king of Syria. And Ochozias son of Joram went down to see Joram the son of Achaab in Jezrael, because he was sick.
रामाह में अराम के राजा हाज़ाएल से युद्ध करते हुए राजा योराम को जो घाव लगे थे, उनसे स्वस्थ होने के लिए राजा योराम येज़्रील को लौट गया. यहूदिया के राजा यहोराम का पुत्र अहज़्याह अहाब के पुत्र योराम की स्थिति को देखने येज़्रील गया क्योंकि योराम बीमार था.
