Kings IV 24
1 In his days went up Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and Joakim became his servant three years; and [then] he turned and revolted from him.
En sus días vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joakim le estuvo sujeto por tres años; después de lo cual volvió a rebelarse contra él.
2 And the lord sent against him the bands of the Chaldeans, and the bands of Syria, and the bans of Moab, and the bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them into the land of Juda to prevail [against it], according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servants the prophets.
Yahvé envió contra él bandas de caldeos, bandas de sirios, bandas de moabitas y bandas de los hijos de Ammón. Las envió contra Judá para destruirle, según la palabra de Yahvé que había hablado por medio de sus siervos los profetas.
3 Moreover it was the purpose of the Lord concerning Juda, to remove them from his presence, because of the sins of Manasses, according to all that he did.
Por orden del mismo Yahvé se hizo esto contra Judá, para quitarlo de su presencia, a causa de todos los pecados que había cometido Manasés,
4 Moreover he shed innocent blood, and filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord would not pardon [it].
y también a causa de la sangre inocente por él derramada; pues había llenado a Jerusalén de sangre inocente, por la cual Yahvé no quiso perdonar.
5 And the rest of the acts of Joakim, and all that he did, behold, [are] not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?
Las demás cosas de Joakim, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está esto escrito en el libro de los anales de los reyes de Judá?
6 And Joakim slept with his fathers: and Joachim his son reigned in his stead.
Joakim se durmió con sus padres, y en su lugar reino su hijo Joaquín.
7 And the king of Egypt came no more out of his land: for the king of Babylon took away all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the river of Egypt as far as the river Euphrates.
El rey de Egipto no salió más de su tierra; porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado todo lo que antes era del rey de Egipto, desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Éufrates.
8 Eighteen years old [was] Joachim when he began to reign, an he reigned three months in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Nestha, daughter of Ellanastham, of Jerusalem.
Joaquín tenía diez y ocho años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Nohestá, hija de EInatán, de Jerusalén.
9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father did.
Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, imitando todo lo que había hecho su padre.
10 At that time went up Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
En aquel tiempo los servidores de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia subieron a Jerusalén, y la ciudad fue asediada.
11 And Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants besieged it.
Vino también Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, a la ciudad, mientras sus capitanes la asediaban.
12 And Joachim king of Juda came forth to the king of Babylon, he and his servants, and his mother, and his princes, and his eunuchs; and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
Entonces Joaquín, rey de Judá, se presentó al rey de Babilonia, él y su madre, sus servidores, sus príncipes, y sus eunucos, y el rey de Babilonia lo tomó preso el año octavo de su reinado,
13 And he brought forth thence all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and he cut up all the golden vessels which Solomon the king of Israel [had] made in the temple of the Lord, according to the word of the Lord.
y como Yahvé lo había predicho, sacó de allí todos los tesoros de la Casa de Yahvé y los tesoros de la casa real, e hizo pedazos todos los objetos de oro que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho para el Templo de Yahvé.
14 And he carried away [the inhabitants of] Jerusalem, and all the captains, and the mighty men, taking captive ten thousand prisoners, and every artificer and smith: and only the poor of the land were left.
Llevó al cautiverio a toda Jerusalén, a todos los príncipes, y a todos los guerreros —diez mil cautivos— y todos los artesanos y herreros, no quedando sino los más pobres del pueblo del país.
15 And he carried Joachim away to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs: and he carried away the mighty men of the land into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
Deportó a Joaquín a Babilonia y llevo cautivos de Jerusalén a Babilonia a la madre del rey, a las mujeres del rey, a sus eunucos y a la gente pudiente del país.
16 And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and one thousand artificers and smiths: all [were] mighty [men] fit for war; and the king of Babylon carried them captive to Babylon.
A todos los hombres robustos, en número de siete mil, a los artesanos y herreros en número de mil, a todos los hombres de valer y aptos para la guerra, los llevó el rey de Babilonia cautivos a Babilonia;
17 And the king of Babylon made Batthanias his son king in his stead, and called his name Sedekias.
y en lugar de (Joaquín) puso por rey a Matanías, tío de (Joaquín), mudándole el nombre en el de Sedecías.
18 Twenty and one years old [was] Sedekias when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Amital daughter of Jeremias.
Sedecías tenía veintiún años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Hamital, hija de Jeremías, de Lobná.
19 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Joachim did.
Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, imitando todo lo que había hecho Joakim,
20 For it was according to the Lord's anger against Jerusalem and on Juda, until he cast them out of his presence, that Sedekias revolted against the king of Babylon.
de manera que la ira de Yahvé contra Jerusalén y Judá llegó hasta el punto de arrojarlos de su presencia. Entonces Sedecías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.
