1 And it came to pass, when the Lord was going to take Eliu with a whirlwind as it were into heaven, that Eliu and Elisaie went out of Galgala.
Awo Mukama bwe yali ng’anaatera okutwala Eriya mu ggulu mu mbuyaga ey’amaanyi, nga Eriya ne Erisa bava e Girugaali,
2 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray you; for God has sent me to Baethel. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you; so they came to Baethel.
Eriya n’agamba Erisa nti, “Sigala wano, ŋŋende e BeseriMukama gy’antumye.” Naye Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Mazima nga Mukama bw’ali omulamu, era nga nawe bw’oli omulamu, siireme kugenda naawe.” Awo ne baserengeta bonna e Beseri.
3 And the sons of the prophets who were in Baethel came to Elisaie, and said to him, Do you know, that the Lord this day is going to take your lord away from your head? And he said, Yes, I know [it]; be silent.
Ekibiina ekya bannabbi abaali e Beseri ne bagenda eri Erisa ne bamugamba nti, “Okimanyi nga Mukama anaatwala mukama wo olwa leero?” Erisa n’abaddamu nti, “Nkimanyi, naye temukyogerako.”
4 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray you; for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. And he said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they came to Jericho.
Eriya n’addamu omulundi ogwokubiri n’agamba Erisa nti, “Sigala wano, ŋŋende e Yeriko Mukama gy’antumye.” Naye Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Mazima nga Mukama bw’ali omulamu, era nga nawe bw’oli omulamu, siireme kugenda naawe.” Awo ne bagenda bonna e Yeriko.
5 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho drew near to Elisaie, and said to him, Do you know that the Lord is about to take away your master today from your head? And he said, Yes, I know [it]; hold your peace.
Awo ekibiina ekya bannabbi abaali e Yeriko ne batuukirira Erisa ne bamugamba nti, “Okimanyi nga Mukama anaatwala mukama wo olwa leero?” Erisa n’abaddamu nti, “Weewaawo nkimanyi, naye temukyogerako.”
6 And Eliu said to him, Stay here, I pray you, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you: and they both went on.
Eriya n’addamu nate n’amugamba nti, “Sigala wano, nserengete ku Yoludaani Mukama gy’antumye.” Naye Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Mazima nga Mukama bw’ali omulamu, era nga nawe bw’oli omulamu, siireme kugenda naawe.” Awo ne batambula bombi.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets [went also], and they stood opposite afar off: and both stood on [the bank] of Jordan.
Ne waba ekibiina kya bannabbi amakumi ataano abaali bayimiridde akabanga okuva Eriya ne Erisa we baali ku lubalama lw’omugga Yoludaani.
8 And Eliu took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and struck the water: and the water was divided on this side and on that side, and they both went over on dry ground.
Awo Eriya n’addira omunagiro gwe n’aguzinga wamu n’akuba amazzi ne gaawulibwamu, agamu ne gadda ku luuyi olwa ddyo n’amalala ku luuyi olwa kkono, bombi ne bayita ku lukalu.
9 And it came to pass while they were crossing over, that Eliu said to Elisaie, Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken up from you. And Elisaie said, Let there be, I pray you, a double [portion] of your spirit upon me.
Awo bwe baamala okusomoka, Eriya n’abuuza Erisa nti, “Kiki ky’oyagala nkukolere nga sinnaba kukuggyibwako?” Erisa n’amuddamu nti, “Nkusaba, nsikire emigabo ebiri egy’Omwoyo akuliko.”
10 And Eliu said, You have asked a hard thing: if you shall see me when I am taken up from you, then shall it be so to you; and if not, it shall not be [so].
N’amugamba nti, “Ky’osabye kigambo kizibu, naye bw’onondaba nga ntwalibwa, kale kinaaba nga bw’osabye, naye bw’otondabe tekiibe bwe kityo.”
11 And it came to pass as they were going, they went on talking; and, behold, a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and it separated between them both; and Eliu was taken up in a whirlwind as it were into heaven.
Awo bwe baali batambula nga bwe banyumya bokka na bokka, ne walabika eggaali ey’omuliro n’embalaasi ez’omuliro ne zibaawula, era mu kiseera kye kimu Eriya n’atwalibwa mu ggulu mu mbuyaga ey’amaanyi.
12 And Elisaie saw, and cried, Father, father, the chariot of Israel, and the horseman thereof! And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his garments, and tore them into two pieces.
Awo Erisa bwe yalaba ekyo, n’ayogerera waggulu nti, “Kitange, Kitange, amagaali n’abeebagala embalaasi aba Isirayiri!” Erisa n’ataddamu kumulaba nate. N’addira engoye ze yali ayambadde, n’aziyuzaayuza.
13 And Elisaie took up the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him upon Elisaie; and Elisaie returned, and stood upon the brink of Jordan;
Waaliwo omunagiro ogwali gusuulibbwa Eriya ng’atwalibwa mu ggulu, era ogwo Erisa gwe yalonda n’addayo ku mugga Yoludaani n’ayimirira ku lubalama lw’omugga.
14 and he took the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him, and struck the water, and said, Where is the Lord God of Eliu? and he struck the waters, and they were divided hither and there; and Elisaie went over.
N’addira omunagiro gwe yali alonze n’aguzinga n’akuba amazzi n’ayogera nti, “Kaakano Mukama, Katonda wa Eriya ali luuyi wa?” Bwe yakuba amazzi ne geeyawulamu, agamu ne gadda ku luuyi olwa ddyo n’amalala ku luuyi olwa kkono, n’asomoka.
15 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho on the opposite side saw him, and said, The spirit of Eliu has rested upon Elisaie. And they came to meet him, and did obeisance to him to the ground.
Awo ekibiina ekya bannabbi abaali mu Yeriko ne bayogera nti, “Omwoyo wa Eriya ali ku Erisa.” Ne bagenda okumusisinkana ne bamuvuunamira.
16 And they said to him, Behold now, [there are] with your servants fifty men of strength: let them go now, and seek your lord: perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up, and cast him into Jordan, or on one of the mountains, or on one of the hills. And Elisaie said, You shall not send.
Ne bamugamba nti, “Laba, ffe abaddu bo tulina abasajja abazira amakumi ataano. Bagende banoonye mukama wo, osanga Omwoyo wa Mukama amututte n’amuteeka ku bumu ku busozi oba mu kiwonvu.” Erisa n’abaddamu nti, “Temutawaana, era temubatuma.”
17 And they pressed him until he was ashamed; and he said, Send. And they sent fifty men, and sought three days, and found him not.
Naye bwe baamuwaliriza, n’atendewalirwa, n’abagamba nti, “Kale, mubatume.” Awo ne batuma abasajja amakumi ataano, ne banoonya okumala ennaku ssatu naye ne batamulaba.
18 And they returned to him, for he lived in Jericho: and Elisaie said, Did I not say to you, Go not?
Bwe bakomawo gy’ali mu Yeriko, n’abagamba nti, “Saabalabudde obutagenda?”
19 And the men of the city said to Elisaie, Behold, the situation of the city [is] good, as [our] lord sees; but the waters [are] bad, and the ground barren.
Awo abasajja ab’omu kibuga ne bagenda eri Erisa ne bamugamba nti, “Mukama waffe, ekibuga kino kiri mu kifo kirungi, nga nawe bw’olaba, naye amazzi gaamu mabi, era n’ensi si njimu.”
20 And Elisaie said, Bring me a new pitcher, and put salt in it. And they took [one], and brought [it] to him.
N’abagamba nti, “Mundeetere ebbakuli empya nga mutaddemu omunnyo.” Ne bagimuleetera.
21 And Elisaie went out to the spring of the waters, and cast salt therein, and says, Thus says the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be any longer death thence or barren [land].
N’aserengeta ku nsulo ey’amazzi, n’ayiwamu omunnyo, n’ayogera nti, “Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama nti, ‘Nnoongosezza amazzi gano era tegakyaddamu kuleeta kufa wadde okufuula ensi obutaba njimu.’”
22 And the waters were healed until this day, according to the word of Elisaie which he spoke.
Amazzi ne galongooka, ng’ekigambo kya Mukama kye yayogerera mu Erisa bwe kyali, n’okutuusa ku lunaku lwa leero.
23 And he went up thence to Baethel: and as he was going up by the way there came up also little children from the city, and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, bald-head, go up.
Erisa bwe yava eyo n’akwata ekkubo erigenda e Beseri. Naye ng’ali mu kkubo, n’asisinkana abavubuka ab’omu kibuga ekyo ne bamusekerera nga bwe boogera nti, “Mulabe ow’ekiwalaata! Mulabe ow’ekiwalaata!”
24 And he turned after them, and saw them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And, behold, there came out two bears out of the wood, and they tore forty and two children of them.
N’akyuka n’abatunuulira, n’abakolimira mu linnya lya Mukama. Awo ebisolo ebinene bibiri eby’ekika eky’eddubu ne biva mu kibira ne bitaagulataagula abavubuka amakumi ana mu babiri ku bo.
25 And he went thence to mount Carmel, and returned thence to Samaria.
Ne yeeyongerayo n’alaga ku Lusozi Kalumeeri, oluvannyuma n’addayo e Samaliya.
