1 And it came to pass, when the Lord was going to take Eliu with a whirlwind as it were into heaven, that Eliu and Elisaie went out of Galgala.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jehova aarĩ hakuhĩ kuoya Elija amũtware igũrũ arĩ thĩinĩ wa kĩhuhũkanio kĩa rũhuho-rĩ, Elija na Elisha maarĩ njĩra-inĩ makiuma Giligali.
2 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray you; for God has sent me to Baethel. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you; so they came to Baethel.
Nake Elija akĩĩra Elisha atĩrĩ, “Ikara haha; tondũ Jehova nĩandũmĩte thiĩ Betheli.” Nowe Elisha akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ti-itherũ o ta ũrĩa Jehova atũũraga muoyo na o ta ũrĩa ũtũũraga muoyo-rĩ, niĩ ndigũgũtiga” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio magĩikũrũka magĩthiĩ Betheli.
3 And the sons of the prophets who were in Baethel came to Elisaie, and said to him, Do you know, that the Lord this day is going to take your lord away from your head? And he said, Yes, I know [it]; be silent.
Hĩndĩ ĩyo thiritũ ya anabii a kũu Betheli magĩũka kũrĩ Elisha, makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Nĩũmenyete atĩ Jehova nĩekuoya mwathi waku amweherie harĩwe ũmũthĩ?” Nake Elisha akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ nĩnjũũĩ, no mũtikaarie ũhoro ũcio.”
4 And Eliu said to Elisaie, Stay here, I pray you; for the Lord has sent me to Jericho. And he said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they came to Jericho.
Ningĩ Elija akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Elisha, ikara haha; tondũ Jehova nĩandũmĩte thiĩ Jeriko.” Nake akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ti-itherũ o ta ũrĩa Jehova atũũraga muoyo na o ta ũrĩa wee ũtũũraga muoyo-rĩ, niĩ ndigũgũtiga.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio magĩthiĩ Jeriko.
5 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho drew near to Elisaie, and said to him, Do you know that the Lord is about to take away your master today from your head? And he said, Yes, I know [it]; hold your peace.
Nao andũ a thiritũ ya anabii a kũu Jeriko magĩkora Elisha makĩmũũria atĩrĩ, “Nĩũmenyete atĩ Jehova nĩekuoya mwathi waku amweherie harĩwe ũmũthĩ?” Nake Elisha akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Ĩĩ nĩnjũũĩ, no mũtikaarie ũhoro ũcio.”
6 And Eliu said to him, Stay here, I pray you, for the Lord has sent me to Jordan. And Elisaie said, [As] the Lord lives and your soul lives, I will not leave you: and they both went on.
Ningĩ Elija akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ikara haha, tondũ Jehova nĩandũmĩte thiĩ Jorodani.” Nake akĩmwĩra atĩrĩ, “Ti-itherũ o ta ũrĩa Jehova atũũraga muoyo, na o ta ũrĩa wee ũtũũraga muoyo-rĩ, niĩ ndigũgũtiga.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio-rĩ, o eerĩ magĩthiĩ na mbere na rũgendo.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets [went also], and they stood opposite afar off: and both stood on [the bank] of Jordan.
Nao andũ mĩrongo ĩtano a thiritũ ya anabii magĩthiĩ makĩrũgama haraaya, marorete harĩa Elija na Elisha maarũngiĩ, hau rũũĩ-inĩ rwa Jorodani.
8 And Eliu took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and struck the water: and the water was divided on this side and on that side, and they both went over on dry ground.
Nake Elija akĩruta nguo yake ya igũrũ, akĩmĩkũnja, akĩgũtha maaĩ nayo. Namo maaĩ makĩgayũkana mwena wa ũrĩo na wa ũmotho, nao eerĩ makĩringĩra thĩ nyũmũ.
9 And it came to pass while they were crossing over, that Eliu said to Elisaie, Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken up from you. And Elisaie said, Let there be, I pray you, a double [portion] of your spirit upon me.
Rĩrĩa maarĩkirie kũringa-rĩ, Elija akĩĩra Elisha atĩrĩ, “Njĩĩra atĩrĩ, nĩatĩa ingĩgwĩkĩra itaaneherio harĩwe?” Nake Elisha akĩmũcookeria atĩrĩ, “Ngwenda kũgaya hinya wa roho waku maita meerĩ.”
10 And Eliu said, You have asked a hard thing: if you shall see me when I am taken up from you, then shall it be so to you; and if not, it shall not be [so].
Nake Elija akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũndũ ũcio wahooya nĩ ũndũ mũritũ, no rĩrĩ, wanyona ngĩeherio harĩwe-rĩ, nĩũgũtuĩka waku, no Waga kũnyona ndũgũtuĩka waku.”
11 And it came to pass as they were going, they went on talking; and, behold, a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and it separated between them both; and Eliu was taken up in a whirlwind as it were into heaven.
Na rĩrĩ, rĩrĩa maatwaranĩte makĩaragia, o rĩmwe ngaari yarĩrĩmbũkaga mwaki na mbarathi ciarĩrĩmbũkaga mwaki ikiumĩra na ikĩmatigithũkania eerĩ, na Elija akĩambata igũrũ arĩ thĩinĩ wa kĩhuhũkanio kĩa rũhuho.
12 And Elisaie saw, and cried, Father, father, the chariot of Israel, and the horseman thereof! And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his garments, and tore them into two pieces.
Elisha ona ũguo agĩkaya, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ũũi baba-ĩ! Ũũi baba-ĩ! Ngaari cia ita na ahaici a mbarathi a Isiraeli!” Nake Elisha ndaacookire kũmuona rĩngĩ. Hĩndĩ ĩyo akĩaũra nguo ciake, agĩcitembũranga.
13 And Elisaie took up the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him upon Elisaie; and Elisaie returned, and stood upon the brink of Jordan;
Nake akĩoya nguo ya igũrũ ĩrĩa yagwĩte kuuma harĩ Elija na agĩthiĩ akĩrũgama hũgũrũrũ-inĩ cia Rũũĩ rwa Jorodani.
14 and he took the mantle of Eliu, which fell from off him, and struck the water, and said, Where is the Lord God of Eliu? and he struck the waters, and they were divided hither and there; and Elisaie went over.
Ningĩ akĩoya nguo ĩyo ya igũrũ yagwĩte ĩkoima harĩ Elija, akĩgũtha maaĩ nayo. Akĩũria atĩrĩ, “Rĩu akĩrĩ ha Jehova, Ngai wa Elija?” Na rĩrĩa aagũthire maaĩ, makĩgayũkana maita meerĩ mwena wa ũrĩo na mwena wa ũmotho, nake akĩringa.
15 And the sons of the prophets who were in Jericho on the opposite side saw him, and said, The spirit of Eliu has rested upon Elisaie. And they came to meet him, and did obeisance to him to the ground.
Andũ a thiritũ ya anabii kuuma Jeriko arĩa maacũthĩrĩirie makiuga atĩrĩ, “Roho wa Elija rĩu ũrĩ igũrũ rĩa Elisha.” Nao magĩthiĩ kũmũtũnga, makĩinamĩrĩra thĩ mbere yake.
16 And they said to him, Behold now, [there are] with your servants fifty men of strength: let them go now, and seek your lord: perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up, and cast him into Jordan, or on one of the mountains, or on one of the hills. And Elisaie said, You shall not send.
Nao makiuga atĩrĩ, “Ta kĩrore, ithuĩ ndungata ciaku tũrĩ na andũ marĩ hinya mĩrongo ĩtano. Metĩkĩrie mathiĩ magacarie mwathi waku. No gũkorwo Roho wa Jehova amuoire aamũtwara kĩrĩma-inĩ kana gĩtuamba-inĩ.” Nake Elisha akĩmacookeria atĩrĩ, “Aca, tigai kũmatũma.”
17 And they pressed him until he was ashamed; and he said, Send. And they sent fifty men, and sought three days, and found him not.
No makĩmũringĩrĩria o nginya agĩconoka, akĩremwo nĩ kũrega. Nĩ ũndũ ũcio akiuga atĩrĩ, “Matũmei.” Nao magĩtũma andũ mĩrongo ĩtano, arĩa maamwethire mĩthenya ĩtatũ, no matiigana kũmuona.
18 And they returned to him, for he lived in Jericho: and Elisaie said, Did I not say to you, Go not?
Na rĩrĩa maacookire kũrĩ Elisha, ũrĩa waikaraga Jeriko, akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Githĩ ndiamwĩrire mũtigathiĩ?”
19 And the men of the city said to Elisaie, Behold, the situation of the city [is] good, as [our] lord sees; but the waters [are] bad, and the ground barren.
Andũ a itũũra rĩu inene makĩĩra Elisha atĩrĩ, “Mwathi witũ, itũũra rĩĩrĩ rĩrĩ handũ hega, o ta ũrĩa ũreyonera, no maaĩ marĩo nĩ marũrũ, naguo bũrũri ndũgĩaga kĩndũ.”
20 And Elisaie said, Bring me a new pitcher, and put salt in it. And they took [one], and brought [it] to him.
Nake akiuga atĩrĩ, “Ndeherai mbakũri njerũ, na mũmĩĩkĩre cumbĩ.” Nĩ ũndũ ũcio makĩmũrehere.
21 And Elisaie went out to the spring of the waters, and cast salt therein, and says, Thus says the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be any longer death thence or barren [land].
Nake agĩthiĩ gĩthima-inĩ, agĩikia cumbĩ maaĩ-inĩ, akiuga atĩrĩ, “Jehova ekuuga ũũ, ‘Nĩndathondeka maaĩ maya. Matigacooka kũrehe gĩkuũ kana matũme bũrũri wage kũgĩa kĩndũ rĩngĩ.’”
22 And the waters were healed until this day, according to the word of Elisaie which he spoke.
Namo maaĩ macio matũire marĩ mega nginya ũmũthĩ, kũringana na kiugo kĩrĩa kĩarĩtio nĩ Elisha.
23 And he went up thence to Baethel: and as he was going up by the way there came up also little children from the city, and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, bald-head, go up.
Nake Elisha akiuma kũu, agĩthiĩ Betheli. Na rĩrĩa aarĩ njĩra-inĩ agĩthiĩ-rĩ, imwana imwe ikiuma itũũra-inĩ, ikĩmũnyũrũria, ikiuga atĩrĩ, “Ambata nakũu, wee kĩhara gĩkĩ! Ambata nakũu, wee kĩhara gĩkĩ!”
24 And he turned after them, and saw them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And, behold, there came out two bears out of the wood, and they tore forty and two children of them.
Nake akĩĩhũgũra, agĩcirora, agĩciruma na kĩrumi rĩĩtwa-inĩ rĩa Jehova. Nacio nduba igĩrĩ ikiuma gĩthaka-inĩ, igĩtambuura imwana mĩrongo ĩna na igĩrĩ ciacio.
25 And he went thence to mount Carmel, and returned thence to Samaria.
Nake agĩthiĩ Kĩrĩma-inĩ gĩa Karimeli, na kuuma kũu agĩcooka Samaria.
