Kings IV 14
1 In the second year of Joas the son of Joachaz king of Israel, did Amessias also the son of Joas the king of Juda begin to reign.
೧ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯ ಎಂಬವನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
2 Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Joadim of Jerusalem.
೨ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವಳಾದ ಯೆಹೋವದ್ದೀನ್ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಇವನ ತಾಯಿ.
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not as David his father: he did according to all things that his father Joas did.
೩ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪದೆ ನಡೆದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಾದನು, ಆದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ತಮನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
4 Only he removed not the high places: as yet the people sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places.
೪ಇವನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಇನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಜ್ಞಧೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
5 And it came to pass when the kingdom was established in his hand, that he killed his servants that had slain the king his father.
೫ಅವನು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕೂಡಲೇ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು.
6 But he killed not the sons of those that had slain him; according as it is written in the book of the laws of Moses, as the Lord gave commandment, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, and the children shall not be put to death for the fathers; but every one shall die for his own sins.
೬ಮೋಶೆಯ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಂತೆ, “ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪಾಪದ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ತಂದೆಗೂ, ತಂದೆಯ ಪಾಪದ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬಾರದು; ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪಫಲವನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
7 He struck of Edom ten thousand in the valley of salt, and took the Rock in the war, and called its name Jethoel until this day.
೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಸದೆಬಡಿದು, ಅವರಿಂದ ಸೆಲ ದುರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೊಕ್ತೆಯೇಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇದೇ ಹೆಸರಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
8 Then Amessias sent messengers to Joas son of Joachaz son of Ju king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
೮ಅನಂತರ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಒಂದು ಕೈ ನೋಡೋಣ ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 And Joas the king of Israel sent to Amessias king of Juda, saying, The thistle that was in Libanus sent to the cedar that was in Libanus, saying, Give my daughter to your son to wife: and the wild beasts of the field that were in Libanus passed by and trod down the thistle.
೯ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನಿಗೆ, “ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಿಡವು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ದೇವದಾರುಮರಕ್ಕೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿತು. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ಒಂದು ಕಾಡು ಮೃಗವು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ತುಳಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
10 You have struck and wounded Edom, and your heart has lifted you up: stay at home and glorify yourself; for therefore are you quarrelsome to your hurt? So [both] you will fall and Juda with you.
೧೦ನೀನು ಎದೋಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದರಿಂದ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀ; ಆ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯು ಸಾಕೆಂದು ನೆನದು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೋ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಣಕಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವಾದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯಾಕೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
11 Nevertheless Amessias listened not: so Joas king of Israel went up, and he and Amessias king of Juda looked one another in the face in Baethsamys of Juda.
೧೧ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಇದನ್ನು ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು. ಅವರು ಯೆಹೂದ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡರು.
12 And Juda was overthrown before Israel, and [every] man fled to his tent.
೧೨ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಂದ ಸೋಲಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.
13 And Joas king of Israel took Amessias the son of Joas the son of Ochozias, in Baethsamys; and he came to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, [beginning] at the gate of Ephraim as far as the gate of the corner, four hundred cubits.
೧೩ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನೂ, ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನಿಂದ ಮೂಲೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇದ್ದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಾನೂರು ಮೊಳ ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
14 And he took the gold, and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king's house, and the hostages, and returned to Samaria.
೧೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜನ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಭಂಡಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ, ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಒತ್ತೆಯಾಳಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದನು.
15 And the rest of the acts of Joas, [even] all that he did in his might, how he warred with Amessias king of Juda, are not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
೧೫ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಶೂರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನೊಡನೆ ನಡಿಸಿದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ವಿವರವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ.
16 And Joas slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
೧೬ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜಸ್ಮಶಾನಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
17 And Amessias the son of Joas king of Juda lived after the death of Joas son of Joachaz king of Israel fifteen years.
೧೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಸತ್ತನಂತರ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನೂ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹದಿನೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದನು.
18 And the rest of the acts of Amessias, and all that he did, [are] not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?
೧೮ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
19 And they formed a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachis: and they sent after him to Lachis, and killed him there.
೧೯ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಲಾಕೀಷಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಆಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
20 And they brought him upon horses; and he was buried in Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
೨೦ಅವನ ಜನರು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತಂದು ದಾವೀದನಗರದೊಳಗೆ ಅವನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಸ್ಮಶಾನಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
21 And all the people of Juda took Azarias, and he was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amessias.
೨೧ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಸೇರಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರ್ಷದವನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
22 He built Aeloth, and restored it to Juda, after the king slept with his fathers.
೨೨ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನು ಏಲತ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಯೆಹೂದರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
23 In the fifteenth year of Amessias son of Joas king of Juda began Jeroboam son of Joas to reign over Israel in Samaria forty and one years.
೨೩ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಲ್ವತ್ತೊಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು.
24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who led Israel to sin.
೨೪ಇವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದನು.
25 He recovered the coast of Israel from the entering in of Aemath to the sea of Araba, according to the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spoke by his servant Jonas the son of Amathi, the prophet of Gethchopher.
೨೫ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಗತ್ ಹೇಫೆರಿನವನಾದ ಅಮಿತ್ತೈಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಯೋನಾ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂತಿಳಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಹಮಾತಿನ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಸಮುದ್ರದವರೆಗಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನು ಇವನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
26 For the Lord saw [that] the affliction of Israel [was] very bitter, and that they were few in number, straitened and in lack, and destitute, and Israel had no helper.
೨೬ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿ ಘೋರಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರೂ, ಪರತಂತ್ರರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
27 And the Lord said that he would not blot out the seed of Israel from under heaven; so he delivered them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joas.
೨೭ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಭೂಲೋಕದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ನಾಮ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು.
28 And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam and all that he did, and his mighty deeds, which he achieved in war, and how he recovered Damascus and Aemath to Juda in Israel, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
೨೮ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ ಅವನು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡಿಸಿದ ಶೂರಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಮಸ್ಕ, ಹಮಾತ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಅವನಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವಿವರಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zacharias his son reigned in his stead.
೨೯ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜರಾಗಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಜೆಕರ್ಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
