Kings IV 1
1 And Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Achaab.
೧ಅಹಾಬನು ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದ ನಂತರ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಗೆ ಎದ್ದರು.
2 And Ochozias fell through the lattice that was in his upper chamber in Samaria and was sick; and he sent messengers, and said to them, Go and enquire of Baal fly, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my sickness. And they went to enquire of him.
೨ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲುಪ್ಪರಿಗೆಯ ಕಿಟಿಕಿಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ಜೆಬೂಬನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ನಾನು ಈ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
3 And an angel of the Lord called Eliu the Thesbite, saying, Arise, and go to meet the messengers of Ochozias king of Samaria, and you shall say to them, [Is it] because there is no God in Israel, [that] you go to enquire of Baal fly, the God of Accaron? but [it shall] not [be] so.
೩ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀವು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವುದೇನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
4 For thus says the Lord, The bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die. And Eliu went, and said [so] to them.
೪ಅಹಜ್ಯನು ತಾನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಮಲಗಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ ಸಾಯಲೇ ಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳು ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು. ಎಲೀಯನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
5 And the messengers returned to him, and he said to them, Why have you returned?
೫ದೂತರು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, “ನೀವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದ್ದದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
6 And they said to him, A man came up to meet us, and said to us, Go, return to the king that sent you, and say to him, Thus says the Lord, [Is it] because there is no God in Israel, [that] you go to enquire of Baal fly, the God of Accaron? [it shall] not [be] so: the bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die.
೬ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ನಮಗೆ, ‘ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ’ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವುದೇನು? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹತ್ತಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ ಸಾಯಲೇ ಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
7 So they returned and reported to the king as Eliu said: and he said to them, What [was] the manner of the man who went up to meet you, and spoke to you these words?
೭ಅರಸನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೇಗಿದ್ದನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
8 And they said to him, [He was] a hairy man, and girded with a leather girdle about his loins. And he said, This is Eliu the Thesbite.
೮ಅವರು, “ಅವನು ಕಂಬಳಿ ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಗಲಿನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟು ಇತ್ತು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತಿಷ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನೇ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು” ಎಂದನು.
9 And he sent to him a captain of fifty and his fifty; and he went up to him: and, behold, Eliu sat on the top of a mountain. And the captain of fifty spoke to him, and said, O man of God, the king has called you, come down.
೯ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆತರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪಂಚದಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನು, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳೊಡನೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಲೀಯನು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ ಅರಸನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
10 And Eliu answered and said to the captain of fifty, And if I [am] a man of God, fire shall come down out of heaven, and devour you and your fifty. And fire came down out of heaven, and devoured him and his fifty.
೧೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನು ಪಂಚದಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿಬಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ” ಎಂದನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
11 And the king sent a second time to him another captain of fifty, and his fifty. And the captain of fifty spoke to him, and said, O man of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.
೧೧ತರುವಾಯ ಅರಸನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಪಂಚದಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ ಬೇಗನೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಾ, ಅರಸನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12 And Eliu answered and spoke to him, and said, If I [am] a man of God, fire shall come down out of heaven, and devour you and your fifty. And fire came down out of heaven, and devoured him and his fifty.
೧೨ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು, “ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿರುವುದಾದರೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿಬಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿ” ಎಂದನು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
13 And the king sent yet again a captain and his fifty. And the third captain of fifty came, and knelt on his knees before Eliu, and entreated him, and spoke to him and said, O man of God, let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your eyes.
೧೩ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಪಂಚದಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನು, ಅವನ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಇವನು ಬಂದು ಎಲೀಯನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಈ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಲಿ.
14 Behold, fire came down from heaven, and devoured the two first captains of fifty: and now, I pray, let my life be precious in your eyes.
೧೪ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿಬಿದ್ದು ಮೊದಲು ಬಂದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪಂಚದಶಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತಲ್ಲಾ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
15 And the angel of the Lord spoke to Eliu, and said, Go down with him, be not afraid of them. And Eliu rose up, and went down with him to the king.
೧೫ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಇವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು, ಇವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
16 And Eliu spoke to him, and said, Thus says the Lord, Why have you sent messengers to enquire of Baal fly, the god of Accaron? [it shall] not [be] so: the bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die.
೧೬ನಂತರ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಬಾಳ್ಜೆಬೂಬನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅಂಥ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹತ್ತಿದ ಮಂಚದಿಂದ ಇಳಿಯದೆ ಸಾಯಲೇಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
17 So he died according to the word of the Lord which Eliu has spoken.
೧೭ಯೆಹೋವನು ಎಲೀಯನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂತಿಳಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಅರಸನು ಸತ್ತನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಗನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಯೋರಾಮನೆಂಬವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದನು
18 And the rest of the acts of Ochozias which he did, behold, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
೧೮ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.
