Chronicles II 5
1 And Solomon brought in the holy things of his father David, the silver, and the gold, and the [other] vessels, and put them in the treasury of the house of the Lord.
Così fu compiuta tutta l’opera che Salomone fece eseguire per la casa dell’Eterno. E Salomone fece portare l’argento, l’oro e tutti gli utensili che Davide suo padre avea consacrati, e li mise nei tesori della casa di Dio.
2 Then Solomon assembled all the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, [even] the leaders of the families of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, —this [is] Sion.
Allora Salomone radunò a Gerusalemme gli anziani d’Israele e tutti i capi delle tribù, i principi delle famiglie patriarcali dei figliuoli d’Israele, per portar su l’arca del patto dell’Eterno, dalla città di Davide, cioè da Sion.
3 And all Israel were assembled [to] the king in the feast, this [is] the seventh month.
Tutti gli uomini d’Israele si radunarono presso il re per la festa che cadeva il settimo mese.
4 And all the elders of Israel came; and all the Levites took up the ark,
Arrivati che furono tutti gli anziani d’Israele, i Leviti presero l’arca,
5 and the tabernacle of witness, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle; and the priests and the Levites brought it up.
e portarono su l’arca, la tenda di convegno, e tutti gli utensili sacri che erano nella tenda. I sacerdoti ed i Leviti eseguirono il trasporto.
6 And king Solomon, and all the elders of Israel, and the religious of them, and they of them that were gathered before the ark, [were] sacrificing calves and sheep, which could not be numbered or reckoned for multitude.
Il re Salomone e tutta la raunanza d’Israele convocata presso di lui, si raccolsero davanti all’arca, e immolarono pecore e buoi in tal quantità da non potersi contare ne calcolare.
7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord into its place, into the oracle of the house, [even] into the holy of holies, under the wings of the cherubs.
I sacerdoti portarono l’arca del patto dell’Eterno al luogo destinatole, nel santuario della casa, nel luogo santissimo, sotto le ali dei cherubini;
8 And the cherubs stretched out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubs covered the ark, and its staves above.
poiché i cherubini aveano le ali spiegate sopra il sito dell’arca, e coprivano dall’alto l’arca e le sue stanghe.
9 And the staves projected, and the heads of the staves were seen from the holy place in front of the oracle, they were not seen without: and there they were to this day.
Le stanghe aveano una tale lunghezza che le loro estremità si vedevano sporgere dall’arca, davanti al santuario, ma non si vedevano dal di fuori. Esse son rimaste quivi fino al dì d’oggi.
10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tables which Moses placed [there] in Choreb, which God gave in covenant with the children of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt.
Nell’arca non v’era altro se non le due tavole di pietra che Mosè vi avea deposte sullo Horeb, quando l’Eterno fece patto coi figliuoli d’Israele, dopo che questi furono usciti dal paese d’Egitto.
11 And it came to pass, when the priests when out of the holy place, (for all the priests that were found were sanctified, they were not [then] arranged according to their daily course, )
Or avvenne che mentre i sacerdoti uscivano dal luogo santo giacché tutti i sacerdoti presenti s’erano santificati senza osservare l’ordine delle classi,
12 that all the singing Levites [assigned] to the sons of Asaph, to Aeman, to Idithun, and to his sons, and to his brethren, of them that were clothed in linen garments, with cymbals and lutes and harps, [were] standing before the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests, blowing trumpets.
e tutti i Leviti cantori Asaf, Heman, Jeduthun, i loro figliuoli e i loro fratelli, vestiti di bisso, con cembali, saltèri e cetre stavano in piè a oriente dell’altare, e con essi centoventi sacerdoti che sonavan la tromba
13 And there was one voice in the trumpeting and in the psalm-singing, and in the loud utterance with one voice to give thanks and praise the Lord; and when they raised their voice together with trumpets and cymbals, and instruments of music, and said, Give thanks to the Lord, for [it is] good, for his mercy [endures] for ever: —then the house was filled with the cloud of the glory of the Lord.
mentre, dico, quelli che sonavan la tromba e quelli che cantavano, come un sol uomo, fecero udire un’unica voce per celebrare e per lodare l’Eterno, e alzarono la voce al suon delle trombe, de’ cembali e degli altri strumenti musicali, e celebrarono l’Eterno dicendo: “Celebrate l’Eterno, perch’egli è buono, perché la sua benignità dura in perpetuo”, avvenne che la casa, la casa dell’Eterno, fu riempita da una nuvola,
14 And the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
e i sacerdoti non poterono rimanervi per farvi l’ufficio loro, a motivo della nuvola; poiché la gloria dell’Eterno riempiva la casa di Dio.
