< Chronicles II 4 >
1 And he made a brazen altar, the length of it twenty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits, and the height ten cubits.
Also, he made a brass altar of twenty cubits in length, and of twenty cubits in width, and of ten cubits in height,
2 And he made the molten sea, in diameter ten cubits, entirely round, and the height of it five cubits, and the circumference thirty cubits.
as well as a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in its circumference. It had five cubits in height, and a line of thirty cubits went around it on all sides.
3 And beneath it the likeness of calves, they compass it round about: ten cubits compass the laver round about, they cast the calves two rows in their casting,
Also, under it there was the likeness of oxen. And certain engravings encircled the cavity of the sea, along ten cubits of the outside, as if in two rows. Now the oxen were molten.
4 wherein they made them twelve calves, —three looking northwards, and three westwards, and three southwards, and three eastwards: and the sea was upon them above, [and] their hinder parts were inward.
And the sea itself was placed upon the twelve oxen, three of which were looking toward the north, and another three toward the west, then another three toward the south, and the three that remained toward the east, having the sea imposed upon them. But the posteriors of the oxen were toward the interior, under the sea.
5 And its thickness was a hand-breadth, and its brim as the brim of a cup, graven with flowers of lilies, holding three thousand measures: and he finished [it].
Now its thickness had the measure of the palm of a hand, and its brim was like the lip of a cup, or like the outturned petal of a lily. And it held three thousand measures.
6 And he made ten lavers, and set five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them the instruments of the whole burnt offerings, and to rinse [the vessels] in them; and the sea [was] for the priests to wash in.
Also, he made ten basins. And he placed five on the right, and five on the left, so that they might wash in them all the things that they were to offer as holocausts. But the priests were to be washed in the sea.
7 And he made the ten golden candlesticks according to their pattern, and he put them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
Then he also made ten gold lampstands, according to the form by which they had been ordered to be made. And he set them in the temple, five on the right, and five on the left.
8 And he made ten tables, and put them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left: and he made a hundred golden bowls.
Moreover, there were also ten tables. And he placed them in the temple, five on the right, and five on the left. Also, there were one hundred gold bowls.
9 Also he made the priests' court, and the great court, and doors to the court, and their panels [were] overlaid with brass.
Then too, he made the court of the priests, and a great hall, and doors in the hall, which he covered with brass.
10 And he set the sea at the corner of the house on the right, as it were fronting the east.
Now he placed the sea on the right side, facing the east, toward the south.
11 And Chiram made the flesh hooks, and the fire-pans, and the grate of the altar, and all its instruments: and Chiram finished doing all the work which he wrought for king Solomon in the house of God:
Then Hiram made cooking pots and hooks and bowls. And he completed every work of the king in the house of God,
12 two pillars, and upon them an embossed work for the chapiters on the heads of the two pillars, and two nets to cover the heads of the chapiters which are on the heads of the pillars;
that is, the two pillars, and the crossbeams, and the heads, and something like a little net, which would cover the heads above the crossbeams,
13 and four hundred golden bells for the two nets, and two rows of pomegranates in each net, to cover the two embossed rims of the chapiters which are upon the pillars.
and also four hundred pomegranates, and two little nets, so that two rows of pomegranates were joined to each net, which would cover the crossbeams and the heads of the pillars.
14 And he made the ten bases, and he made the lavers upon the bases;
He also made bases; and basins that he placed upon the bases;
15 and the one sea, and the twelve calves under it;
one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;
16 and the foot-baths, and the buckets, and the caldrons, and the flesh hooks, and all their furniture (which Chiram made, and brought to king Solomon in the house of the Lord) of pure brass.
and cooking pots and hooks and bowls. Hiram, his father, made all the vessels for Solomon, in the house of the Lord, from the purest brass.
17 In the country round about Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground in the house of Socchoth, and between [that and] Saredatha.
The king cast these in the region near the Jordan, in the clay soil between Succoth and Zeredah.
18 So Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance, for the quantity of brass failed not.
Now the multitude of the vessels was innumerable, so much so that the weight of the brass was unknown.
19 And Solomon made all the vessels of the house of the Lord, and the golden altar, and the tables, and upon them [were to be] the loaves of show bread;
And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of God, and the gold altar, and the tables upon which were the bread of the presence;
20 also the candlesticks, and the lamps to give light according to the pattern, and in front of the oracle, of pure gold.
and also, of the purest gold, the lampstands with their lamps, to shine before the oracle, according to the rite;
21 And their snuffers, and their lamps [were made], and [he made] the bowls, and the censers, and the fire-pans, of pure gold.
and certain flowers, and lamps, and gold tongs. All these were made from the purest gold.
22 And [there was] the inner door of the house [opening] into the holy of holies, and [he made] the inner doors of the temple of gold. So all the work which Solomon wrought for the house of the Lord was finished.
Also, the vessels for the perfumes, and the censers, and the bowls, and the little mortars were from the purest gold. And he engraved the doors of the inner temple, that is, for the Holy of Holies. And the doors of the outer temple were of gold. And so, every work was completed that Solomon made in the house of the Lord.
