Chronicles II 27
1 Joatham [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Jerusa, daughter of Sadoc.
Iotam era în vârstă de douăzeci și cinci de ani când a început să domnească și a domnit șaisprezece ani în Ierusalim. Și numele mamei lui era Ierușa, fiica lui Țadoc.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Ozias did: but he went not into the temple of the Lord. And still the people corrupted themselves.
Și el a făcut ceea ce era drept înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI, conform cu tot ceea ce Ozia, tatăl lui, a făcut; totuși nu a intrat în templul DOMNULUI. Și totuși poporul s-a purtat corupt.
3 He built the high gate of the house of the Lord, and he built much in the wall of Opel.
El a construit poarta înaltă a casei DOMNULUI și pe zidul din Ofel a construit mult.
4 In the mountain of Juda, and in the woods, [he built] both dwelling-places and towers.
Mai mult, a construit cetăți în munții din Iuda și în păduri a construit cetățui și turnuri.
5 He fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against him: and the children of Ammon gave him even annually a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. These the king of the children of Ammon brought to him annually in the first and second and third years.
S-a luptat de asemenea cu împăratul amoniților și i-a învins. Și copiii lui Amon i-au dat în același an o sută de talanți de argint și zece mii de măsuri de grâu și zece mii de orz. Tot atât i-au plătit copiii lui Amon, deopotrivă în al doilea an și în al treilea.
6 Joatham grew strong, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.
Astfel Iotam a devenit puternic, deoarece și-a îndreptat căile înaintea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul său.
7 And the rest of the acts of Joatham, and his war, and his deeds, behold, [they are] written in the book of the kings of Juda and Israel.
Și restul faptelor lui Iotam și toate războaiele lui și căile lui, iată, ele sunt scrise în cartea împăraților lui Israel și Iuda.
Era în vârstă de douăzeci și cinci de ani când a început să domnească și a domnit șaisprezece ani în Ierusalim.
9 And Joatham slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.
Și Iotam a adormit cu părinții lui și l-au îngropat în cetatea lui David; și Ahaz, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.
