< Chronicles II 14 >
1 And Abia died with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In the days of Asa the land of Juda had rest ten years.
Abijah sì sùn pẹ̀lú àwọn baba rẹ̀, a sì sin ín ní ìlú Dafidi. Asa ọmọ rẹ̀ sì jẹ ọba ní ipò rẹ̀. Ní àwọn ọjọ́ rẹ̀, orílẹ̀-èdè wà ní àlàáfíà fún ọdún mẹ́wàá.
2 And he did that which was good and right in the sight of the Lord his God.
Asa ṣe ohun tí ó dára, tí ó sì tọ́ ní ojú Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀.
3 And he removed the altars of the strange [gods], and the high places, and broke the pillars in pieces, and cut down the groves:
Ó gbé àwọn pẹpẹ àjèjì kúrò àti àwọn ibi gíga. Ó fọ́ àwọn òkúta tí a yà sọ́tọ̀, ó sì gé àwọn ère Aṣerah bolẹ̀.
4 and he told Juda to seek earnestly the Lord God of their fathers, and to perform the law and commandments.
Ó pa á láṣẹ fún Juda láti wá Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn baba a wọn àti láti tẹ̀lé àwọn òfin rẹ̀ àti àṣẹ.
5 And he removed from all the cities of Juda the altars and the idols, and established in quietness
Ó gbé àwọn ibi gíga kúrò àti àwọn pẹpẹ tùràrí ní gbogbo ìlú ní Juda. Ìjọba sì wà ní àlàáfíà ní abẹ́ rẹ̀.
6 fortified cities in the land of Juda; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in these years; for the Lord gave him rest.
Ó mọ àwọn ìlú ààbò ti Juda, níwọ̀n ìgbà tí ìlú ti wà ní àlàáfíà. Kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni ti o jagun pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ nígbà náà, nítorí Olúwa fún un ní ìsinmi.
7 And he said to Juda, Let us fortify these cities, and make walls, and towers, and gates, and bars: we shall prevail over the land, for as we have sought out the Lord our God, he has sought out us, and has given us rest round about, and prospered us.
“Ẹ jẹ́ kí a kọ́ àwọn ìlú wọ̀nyí,” ó wí fún Juda, “kí ẹ sì mọ odi yí wọn ká pẹ̀lú àwọn ilé ìṣọ́ gíga, àwọn ẹnu-ọ̀nà òde, àti àwọn ìpẹ́ẹ̀rẹ̀. Ilé náà ti wà, nítorí a ti béèrè lọ́wọ́ Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa; a béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀, ó sì ti fún wa ní ìsinmi ní gbogbo ọ̀nà.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n kọ́ ọ, wọn sì ṣe rere.
8 And Asa had a force of armed men bearing shields and spears in the land of Juda, [even] three hundred thousand, and in the land of Benjamin two hundred and eighty thousand targeteers and archers: all these were mighty warriors.
Asa ní àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti ó jẹ́ ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dógún àwọn ọkùnrin láti Juda. Pẹ̀lú àwọn ohun èlò àwọn àpáta ńlá àti ọ̀kọ̀ àti ọ̀kẹ́ mẹ́rìnlá láti Benjamini wọ́n dira pẹ̀lú àwọn àpáta kéékèèké àti àwọn ọrun. Gbogbo àwọn wọ̀nyí jẹ́ ògbójú jagunjagun ọkùnrin.
9 And Zare the Ethiopian went out against them, with a force of a million, and three hundred chariots; and came to Maresa.
Sera ará Etiopia yàn láti dojúkọ wọ́n, pẹ̀lú ọ̀pọ̀ ọmọ-ogun pẹ̀lú ọ̀ọ́dúnrún kẹ̀kẹ́, wọ́n sì wá láti jìnnà réré bí Meraṣa.
10 And Asa went out to meet him, and set the battle in array in the valley north of Maresa.
Asa jáde lọ láti lọ bá a. Wọ́n sì mú ibi ogun ní pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Sefata lẹ́bàá Meraṣa.
11 And Asa cried to the Lord his God, and said, O Lord, it is not impossible with you to save by many or by few: strengthen us, O Lord our God; for we trust in you, and in your name have we come against this great multitude. O Lord our God, let not man prevail against you.
Nígbà náà, Asa ké pe Olúwa Ọlọ́run baba a rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé “Olúwa kò sí ẹnìkan bí rẹ láti rán aláìlágbára lọ́wọ́ láti dójú kọ alágbára. Ràn wá lọ́wọ́, Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa, nítorí tí àwa gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọ àti ní orúkọ rẹ ni àwa fi wá láti dojúkọ àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ọmọ-ogun yìí. Olúwa, ìwọ ni Ọlọ́run wa; má ṣe jẹ́ kí ènìyàn kó ṣẹ́gun rẹ.”
12 And the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Juda; and the Ethiopians fled.
Olúwa lu àwọn ará Kuṣi bolẹ̀ níwájú Asa àti Juda. Àwọn ará Kuṣi sálọ.
13 And Asa and his people pursued them to Gedor; and the Ethiopians fell, so that they could not recover themselves; for they were crushed before the Lord, and before his host; and they took many spoils.
Asa àti àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ sá tẹ̀lé wọn ní jìnnà réré sí Gerari. Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀, àwọn ará Kuṣi ṣubú, wọn kò sì le sán padà mọ́. Wọn rún wọn mọ́lẹ̀ níwájú Olúwa àti ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀. Àwọn ọkùnrin Juda kó ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìkógun.
14 And they destroyed their towns roundabout Gedor; for a terror of the Lord was upon them: and they spoiled all their cities, for they had much spoil.
Wọ́n pa gbogbo àwọn ìletò tí ó wà ní ẹ̀bá Gerari, nítorí tí ìpayà Olúwa ti sọ̀kalẹ̀ sórí wọn. Wọ́n kó gbogbo ìkógun àwọn ìletò yìí lọ, níwọ̀n ìgbà tí ọ̀pọ̀ ìkógun ti wà níbẹ̀.
15 Also they destroyed the tents of cattle, and the Alimazons, and took many sheep and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.
Wọ́n kọlu àwọn ibùdó àwọn darandaran, wọ́n sì gbé àwọn ọ̀wọ́ ẹran àgùntàn àti àwọn ewúrẹ́ àti àwọn ìbákasẹ. Nígbà náà wọ́n padà sí Jerusalẹmu.
