< Kings I 19 >
1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, to kill David.
Saulu sọ fún Jonatani ọmọ rẹ̀ àti gbogbo àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ pé kí wọ́n pa Dafidi. Ṣùgbọ́n Jonatani fẹ́ràn Dafidi púpọ̀
2 And Jonathan, Saul's son, loved David much: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul seeks to kill you: take heed to yourself therefore to-morrow morning, and hide yourself, and dwell in secret.
Jonatani sì kìlọ̀ fún Dafidi pé, “Baba mi Saulu wá ọ̀nà láti pa ọ́, kíyèsi ara rẹ di òwúrọ̀ ọ̀la; lọ sí ibi ìkọ̀kọ̀, kí o sì sá pamọ́ sí ibẹ̀.
3 And I will go forth, and stand near my father in the field where you shall be, and I will speak concerning you to my father; and I will see what his answer may be, and I will tell you.

4 And Jonathan spoke favorably concerning David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against your servant David, for he has not sinned against you, and his deeds [are] very good.
Jonatani sọ̀rọ̀ rere nípa Dafidi fún Saulu baba rẹ̀, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọba kí ó ṣe ohun tí kò dára fún Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀; nítorí tí kò ṣẹ̀ ọ́, ohun tí ó sì ṣe pé ọ púpọ̀.
5 And he put his life in his hand, and struck the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great deliverance; and all Israel saw, and rejoined: why then do you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?
Ó fi ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ wéwu nígbà tí ó pa Filistini. Olúwa ṣẹ́ ogun ńlá fún gbogbo Israẹli, ìwọ rí i inú rẹ dùn. Ǹjẹ́ nítorí kí ni ìwọ yóò ṣe dẹ́ṣẹ̀ sí Dafidi aláìṣẹ̀, tí ìwọ yóò fi pa á láìnídìí?”
6 And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, saying, [As] the Lord lives, he shall not die.
Saulu fetísí Jonatani, ó sì búra báyìí, “Níwọ́n ìgbà tí Olúwa bá ti ń bẹ láààyè, a kì yóò pa Dafidi.”
7 And Jonathan called David, and told him all these words; and Jonathan brought David in to Saul, and he was before him as in former times.
Nítorí náà Jonatani pe Dafidi, ó sì sọ gbogbo àjọsọ wọn fún un. Ó sì mú un wá fún Saulu, Dafidi sì wà lọ́dọ̀ Saulu gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ti tẹ́lẹ̀.
8 And there was again war against Saul; and David did valiantly, and fought against the Philistines, and struck them with a very great slaughter, and they fled from before him.
Lẹ́ẹ̀kan an sí i ogun tún wá, Dafidi sì jáde lọ, ó sì bá àwọn ara Filistini jà. Ó sì pa wọn pẹ̀lú agbára, wọ́n sì sálọ níwájú u rẹ̀.
9 And an evil spirit from God was upon Saul, and he was resting in his house, and a spear [was] in his hand, and David was playing on the harp with his hands.
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀mí búburú láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa wá sí orí Saulu bí ó ti jókòó ní ilé e rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀. Bí Dafidi sì ti fọn ohun èlò orin olókùn,

Saulu sì wá ọ̀nà láti gún un mọ́ ògiri pẹ̀lú ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n Dafidi yẹ̀ ẹ́ sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí Saulu ti ju ọ̀kọ̀ náà mọ́ ara ògiri. Ní alẹ́ ọjọ́ náà Dafidi sì fi ara pamọ́ dáradára.
11 And it came to pass in that night, that Saul sent messengers to the house of David to watch him, in order to kill him in the morning; and Melchol David's wife told him, saying, Unless you save your life this night, to-morrow you shall be slain.
Saulu rán ènìyàn sí ilé Dafidi láti ṣọ́ ọ kí wọ́n sì pa á ní òwúrọ̀. Ṣùgbọ́n Mikali, ìyàwó Dafidi kìlọ̀ fún un pé, “Tí o kò bá sá fún ẹ̀mí rẹ ní alẹ́ yìí, ní ọ̀la ni a yóò pa ọ́.”
12 So Melchol lets David down by the window, and he departed, and fled, and escaped.
Nígbà náà Mikali sì gbé Dafidi sọ̀kalẹ̀ ó sì fi aṣọ bò ó.

Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọkùnrin náà wọlé, ère ni ó bá lórí ibùsùn àti irun ewúrẹ́ ní orí ère náà.
17 And Saul said to Melchol, Why have you thus deceived me, and suffered my enemy to depart, and he has escaped? and Melchol said to Saul, He said, let me go, and if not, I will kill you.
Saulu wí fún Mikali pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi tàn mí báyìí tí o sì jẹ́ kí ọ̀tá mi sálọ tí ó sì bọ́?” Mikali sọ fún un pé, “Ó wí fún mi, ‘Jẹ́ kí èmi ó lọ. Èéṣe tí èmi yóò fi pa ọ́?’”
18 So David fled, and escaped, and comes to Samuel to Armathaim, and tells him all that Saul had done to him: and Samuel and David went, and lived in Navath in Rama.
