Kings III 22
1 And he rested three years, and there was no war between Syria and Israel.
Drei Jahre saßen sie ruhig. Da war zwischen Aram und Israel kein Krieg.
2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Josaphat king of Juda went down to the king of Israel.
Im dritten Jahre aber zog Judas König Josaphat zum König von Israel hinab.
3 And the king of Israel said to his servants, Know you that Remmath Galaad [is] ours, and we are slow to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?
Da sprach der König von Israel zu seinen Dienern: "Wißt ihr, daß Ramot in Gilead uns gehört? Wir aber sitzen müßig da, anstatt es dem König von Aram zu nehmen."
4 And the king of Israel said to Josaphat, Will you go up with us to Remmath Galaad to battle?
Dann sprach er zu Josaphat: "Ziehst du mit mir in den Kampf um Ramot in Gilead?" Da sprach Josaphat zum König von Israel: "Ich wie du, mein Volk wie dein Volk, meine Rosse wie deine Rosse!"
5 And Josaphat said, As I [am], so [are] you also; as my people, [so is] your people; as my horses, [so are] your horses. And Josaphat king of Juda said to the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray you, of the Lord today.
Dann sprach Josaphat zum König von Israel: "Frage doch erst nach dem Wort des Herrn!"
6 And the king of Israel gathered all the prophets together, about four hundred men; and the king said to them, Shall I go up to Remmath Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? and they said, Go up, and the Lord will surely give [it] into the hands of the king.
Da versammelte Israels König die Propheten, Ungefähr vierhundert Mann, und sprach zu ihnen: "Soll ich gegen Ramot in Gilead zu Felde ziehen oder es lassen?" Sie sprachen: "Ziehe hin! Der Herr gibt es in des Königs Hand."
7 And Josaphat said to the king of Israel, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may enquire of the Lord by him?
Da sprach Josaphat: "Ist hier sonst kein Prophet des Herrn, daß wir ihn befragen könnten?"
8 And the king of Israel said to Josaphat, There is one man here [for us] to enquire of the Lord by; but I hate him, for he does not speak good of me, but only evil; Michaias son of Jemblaa. And Josaphat king of Juda said, Let not the king say so.
Da sprach der König von Israel zu Josaphat: "Noch ist einer da, durch den wir den Herrn befragen können. Aber ich hasse ihn. Denn er weissagt über mich nichts Gutes, sondern nur Schlechtes, Mika, Imlas Sohn." Da sprach Josaphat: "Der König rede nicht so!"
9 And the king of Israel called a eunuch and said, [Bring hither] quickly Michaias son of Jemblaa.
Da rief der König Israels einen Kämmerling und sprach: "Hole rasch Imlas Sohn Mika!"
10 And the king of Israel and Josaphat king of Juda sat, each on his throne, armed in the gates of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
Nun saßen der König von Israel und Judas König, Josaphat, jeder auf seinem Thron, in Untergewändern, am Eingang des Tores von Samaria, und alle Propheten weissagten vor ihnen.
11 And Sedekias son of Chanaan made for himself iron horns, and said, Thus says the Lord, With these you shall push Syria, until it be consumed.
Und Sidkia, Kenaanas Sohn, machte sich eiserne Hörner und sprach: "So spricht der Herr: 'Mit solchen stößt du die Aramäer bis zur Vernichtung.'"
12 And all the prophets prophesied in like manner, saying, Go up to Remmath Galaad, and [the thing] shall prosper, and the Lord shall deliver it and the king of Syria into your hands.
Auch alle anderen Propheten weissagten so und sprachen: "Ziehe nach Ramot in Gilead und sei glücklich! Der Herr gibt es in des Königs Hand."
13 And the messenger that went to call Michaias spoke to him, saying, Behold now, all the prophets speak with one mouth good concerning the king, let now your words be like the words of one of them, and speak good things.
Der Bote aber, der gegangen war, Mika zu rufen, sprach zu ihm: "Die Propheten verheißen einstimmig dem König Gutes. Möchte dein Wort einem der Ihrigen gleichen! Sprich nur Gutes!"
14 And Michaias said, [As] the Lord lives, whatever the Lord shall say to me, that will I speak.
Da sprach Mika: "So wahr der Herr lebt! Ich rede nur, was der Herr mir sagt."
15 And he came to the king: and the king said to him, Michaias, shall I go up to Remmath Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? and he said, Go up, and the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
So kam er zum König. Und der König sprach zu ihm: "Mika! Sollen wir gen Ramot in Gilead zu Felde ziehen oder sollen wir es lassen?" Er sprach zu ihm: "Zieh hin und sei glücklich! Der Herr gibt es in des Königs Hand."
16 And the king said to him, How often shall I adjure you, that you speak to me truth in the name of the Lord?
Da sprach der König zu ihm: "Wie oft muß ich dich beschwören, du sollest mir in des Herrn Namen nichts als Wahrheit künden?"
17 And he said, Not so. I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains as a flock without a shepherd: and the Lord said, [Is] not God lord of these? let each one return to his home in peace.
Da sprach er: "Ich sehe ganz Israel auf den Bergen zerstreut wie Schafe ohne Hirten. Und also spricht der Herr: 'Sie haben keinen Herrn mehr. Doch kehren sie, ein jeder unversehrt, nach Hause.'"
18 And the king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda, Did I not say to you that this man does not prophesy good to me, for [he speaks] nothing but evil?
Da sprach Israels König zu Josaphat: "Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: 'Er weissagt über mich nie Gutes, sondern nur Schlimmes?'"
19 And Michaias said, Not so, [it is] not I: hear the word of the Lord; [it is] not so. I saw the God of Israel sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven stood about him on his right hand and on his left.
Da sprach er: "So hör darum das Wort des Herrn! Ich habe den Herrn auf seinem Throne sitzen sehen, und bei ihm stand das ganze Himmelsheer zur Rechten und zur Linken.
20 And the Lord said, Who will deceive Achaab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall in Remmath Galaad? and one spoke one way, and another another way.
Da sprach der Herr: 'Wer möchte Achab so betören, daß er zu Felde ziehe und in Gilead zu Ramot falle?' Der eine sagte dies, der andere das.
21 And there came forth a spirit and stood before the Lord, and said, I will deceive him.
Da trat der Geist hervor und stellte sich vor den Herrn und sprach: 'Ich möchte ihn betören.' Da fragte ihn der Herr: 'Womit?'
22 And the Lord said to him, Whereby? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, You shall deceive him, yes, and shall prevail: go forth, and do so.
Er sprach: 'Ich gehe aus und werde Lügengeist im Munde aller seiner Seher.' Er sprach: 'Du wirst betören und es auch vermögen. Gehe hin und tue so!'
23 And now, behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against you.
So hat der Herr nun einen Lügengeist dem Munde aller dieser deiner Seher eingegeben. Der Herr plant Unheil über dich."
24 And Sedekias the son of Chanaan came near and struck Michaias on the cheek, and said, What sort of a spirit of the Lord [has] spoken in you?
Da trat Sidkia, Kenaanas Sohn, herzu, schlug Mika auf die Wange und sprach: "Wie, ist des Herrn Geist von mir gewichen, um mit dir zu reden?"
25 And Michaias said, Behold, you shall see in that day, when you shall go into an innermost chamber to hide yourself there.
Da sprach Mika: "Das siehst du an jenem Tage, wo du kommst, einen Winkel aufzusuchen, um dich zu verstecken."
26 And the king of Israel said, Take Michaias, and convey him away to Semer the keeper of the city;
Da sprach der König von Israel: "Nimm den Mika und übergib ihn dem Obersten der Stadt, Amon, und dem Königssohn Joas!
27 and tell Joas the king's son to put this [fellow] in prison, and to feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction until I return in peace.
Sag, so spricht der König: 'Werft diesen in den Kerker und nährt ihn kärglich mit Brot und Wasser, bis ich heil heimkomme!'"
28 And Michaias said, If you return at all in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.
Da sprach Mika: "Kehrst du wirklich heil heim, dann hat der Herr nicht durch mich geredet." Und er sprach: "Hört dies, all ihr Leute!"
29 So the king of Israel went up, and Josaphat king of Juda with him to Remmath Galaad.
So zogen der König Israels und Judas König Josaphat gen Ramot in Gilead.
30 And the king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle, and do you put on my raiment. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: "Es gilt, sich verkleidet in den Kampf zu stürzen. Du aber behalte deine Gewänder an!" So verkleidete sich Israels König und zog in den Kampf.
31 And the king of Syria had charged the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight not [against] small or great, but against the king of Israel only.
Der König von Aram aber befahl den Obersten seiner Streitwagen zwei- oder dreimal: "Kämpft mit niemand anderem, gering oder vornehm, als allein mit dem König von Israel!"
32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Josaphat king of Juda, that they said, this seems [to be] the king of Israel. And they compassed him about to fight [against] him; and Josaphat cried out.
Als nun die Obersten der Streitwagen den Josaphat sahen, sprachen sie: "Das kann nur der König von Israel sein." Und sie lenkten auf ihn zu, ihn anzugreifen. Da schrie Josaphat auf.
33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that this was not the king of Israel, that they returned from him.
Als nun die Obersten der Streitwagen sahen, daß es nicht der König von Israel war, ließen sie von ihm.
34 And one drew a bow with a good aim, and struck the king of Israel between the lungs and the breast-plate: and he said to his charioteer, Turn your hands, and carry me away out of the battle, for I am wounded.
Nun spannte ein Mann von ungefähr den Bogen, da traf er den König von Israel zwischen Ringelgurt und Panzer. Da sprach er zu seinem Wagenlenker: "Wende um und fahre mich aus dem Getümmel! Denn ich bin verwundet."
35 And the war was turned in that day, and the king was standing on the chariot, against Syria from morning till evening; and he shed the blood out of his wound, into the bottom of the chariot, and died at even, and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
Aber der Kampf entbrannte an jenem Tage immer stärker, und so blieb der König im Wagen, gestützt, den Aramäern gegenüber. Abends starb er. Das Blut aber ergoß sich aus der Wunde ins Wageninnere.
36 And the herald of the army stood at sunset, saying, Let every man go to his own city and his own land,
Da erscholl im Lager bei Sonnenuntergang der Ruf: "Jeder in seine Stadt und in sein Land!"
37 for the king is dead. And they came to Samaria, and buried the king in Samaria.
So starb der König. Er kam nach Samaria, und zu Samaria begrub man den König.
38 And they washed the chariot at the fountain of Samaria; and the swine and the dogs licked up the blood, and the harlots washed themselves in the blood, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke.
Als man den Wagen an Samarias Teich abspülte, leckten die Hunde sein Blut und reinigten die Riemen nach dem Worte des Herrn, das er gesprochen hatte.
39 And the rest of the acts of Achaab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities which he built, behold, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Achabs und alles, was er getan, sowie das Elfenbeinhaus und alle Städte, die er gebaut, im Buch der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgezeichnet?
40 And Achaab slept with his fathers, and Ochozias his son reigned in his stead.
So legte sich Achab zu seinen Vätern, und sein Sohn Achazja ward König an seiner Statt.
41 And Josaphat the son of Asa reigned over Juda: in the fourth year of Achaab king of Israel began Josaphat to reign.
König in Juda ward Asas Sohn Josaphat im vierten Jahre Achabs, des Königs von Israel.
42 Thirty and five years old [was he] when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name [was] Azuba daughter of Salai.
Josaphat war fünfunddreißig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte zu Jerusalem fünfundzwanzig Jahre. Seine Mutter hieß Azuba und war des Silchi Tochter.
43 And he walked in all the way of Asa his father: he turned not from it, even from doing that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Only he took not away [any] of the high places: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places.
Er wandelte ganz auf seines Vaters Asa Weg und wich nicht von ihm ab. Er tat, was dem Herrn gefiel.
44 And Josaphat was at peace with the king of Israel.
Nur die Höhen waren nicht beseitigt worden. Noch opferte und räucherte das Volk auf den Höhen.
45 And the rest of the acts of Josaphat, and his mighty deeds, whatever he did, behold, [are] not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?
Josaphat aber hielt mit dem König von Israel Frieden.
Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Josaphats und seiner tapferen Taten, die er getan, und wie er Krieg geführt, im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Judas aufgezeichnet?
Auch tilgte er aus dem Lande den Rest der Tempeldirnen, die aus der Zeit seines Vaters Asa noch übrig waren.
In Edom aber war kein König als Herrscher eingesetzt.
Josaphat baute auch zu Esiongeber Tarsisschiffe, die nach Ophir zum Goldholen fahren sollten. Aber man kam nicht hin; denn die Schiffe scheiterten.
50 And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried by his fathers in the city of David his father, and Joram his son reigned in his stead.
Damals sprach Achabs Sohn Achazja zu Josaphat: "Meine Knechte könnten mit deinen Knechten auf den Schiffen fahren." Aber Josaphat wollte nicht.
51 And Ochozias son of Achaab reigned over Israel in Samaria: in the seventeenth year of Josaphat king of Juda, Ochozias son of Achaab reigned over Israel in Samaria two years.
Als sich Josaphat zu seinen Vätern legte, ward er bei seinen Vätern in seines Ahnen David Stadt begraben. An seiner Statt ward sein Sohn Joram König.
52 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Achaab his father, and in the way of Jezabel his mother, and in the sins of the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who caused Israel to sin.
Achabs Sohn Achazja ward König über Israel zu Samaria im siebzehnten Jahr des Judakönigs Josaphat. Er regierte über Israel zwei Jahre.
53 And he served Baalim, and worshipped them, and provoked the Lord God of Israel, according to all that had been done before him.
Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, und wandelte auf dem Wege seines Vaters und seiner Mutter sowie auf dem Wege des Nebatsohnes Jeroboam, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte. Er diente dem Baal und betete ihn an. So kränkte er den Herrn, Israels Gott, ganz wie sein Vater getan hatte.
