Kings III 17
1 And Eliu the prophet, the Thesbite of Thesbae of Galaad, said to Achaab, As the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be these years dew nor rain, except by the word of my mouth.
एलियाह तिशबी ने जो जिल'आद के परदेसियों में से था, अख़ीअब से कहा कि “ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा की हयात की क़सम, जिसके सामने मैं खड़ा हूँ, इन बरसों में न ओस पड़ेगी न बारिश होगी, जब तक मैं न कहूँ।”
2 And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
और ख़ुदावन्द का यह कलाम उस पर नाज़िल हुआ कि
3 Depart hence eastward, and hide you by the brook of Chorrath, that is before Jordan.
“यहाँ से चल दे और मशरिक़ की तरफ़ अपना रुख कर और करीत के नाले के पास, जो यरदन के सामने है, जा छिप।
4 And it shall be [that] you shall drink water of the brook, and I will charge the ravens to feed you there.
और तू उसी नाले में से पीना, और मैंने कौवों को हुक्म किया है कि वह तेरी परवरिश करें।”
5 And Eliu did according to the word of the Lord, and he sat by the brook of Chorrath before Jordan.
तब उसने जाकर ख़ुदावन्द के कलाम के मुताबिक़ किया, क्यूँकि वह गया और करीत के नाले के पास जो यरदन के सामने है रहने लगा।
6 And the ravens brought him loaves in the morning, and flesh in the evening and he drank water of the brook.
और कौवे उसके लिए सुबह को रोटी और गोश्त, और शाम को भी रोटी और गोश्त लाते थे, और वह उस नाले में से पिया करता था।
7 And it came to pass after some time, that the brook was dried up, because there had been no rain upon the earth.
और कुछ 'अरसे के बाद वह नाला सूख गया इसलिए कि उस मुल्क में बारिश नहीं हुई थी।
8 And the word of the Lord came to Eliu, [saying],
तब ख़ुदावन्द का यह कलाम उस पर नाज़िल हुआ, कि
9 Arise, and go to Sarepta of the Sidonian [land]: behold, I have there commanded a widow-woman to maintain you.
“उठ और सैदा के सारपत को जा और वहीं रह। देख, मैंने एक बेवा को वहाँ हुक्म दिया है कि तेरी परवरिश करे।”
10 And he arose and went to Sarepta, and came to the gate of the city: and, behold, a widow-woman was there gathering sticks; and Eliu cried after her, and said to her, Fetch me, I pray you, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
तब वह उठकर सारपत को गया, और जब वह शहर के फाटक पर पहुँचा तो देखा, कि एक बेवा वहाँ लकड़ियाँ चुन रही है; तब उसने उसे पुकार कर कहा, “ज़रा मुझे थोड़ा सा पानी किसी बर्तन में ला दे कि मैं पियूं।”
11 And she went to fetch it; and Eliu cried after her, and said, Bring me, I pray you, a morsel of the bread that is in your hand.
जब वह लेने चली, तो उसने पुकार कर कहा, “ज़रा अपने हाथ में एक टुकड़ा रोटी मेरे वास्ते लेती आना।”
12 And the woman said, [As] the Lord your God lives, I have not a cake, but only a handful of meal in the pitcher, and a little oil in a cruse, and, behold, I am going to gather two sticks, and I shall go in and dress it for myself and my children, and we shall eat it and die.
उसने कहा, “ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा की हयात की कसम, मेरे यहाँ रोटी नहीं सिर्फ़ मुट्ठी भर आटा एक मटके में, और थोड़ा सा तेल एक कुप्पी में है। और देख, मैं दो एक लकड़ियाँ चुन रही हूँ, ताकि घर जाकर अपने और अपने बेटे के लिए उसे पकाऊँ, और हम उसे खाएँ, फिर मर जाएँ।”
13 And Eliu said to her, Be of good courage, go in and do according to your word: but make me thereof a little cake, and you shall bring [it] out to me first, and you shall make [some] for yourself and your children last.
और एलियाह ने उससे कहा, “मत डर; जा और जैसा कहती है कर, लेकिन पहले मेरे लिए एक टिकिया उसमें से बनाकर मेरे पास ले आ; उसके बाद अपने और अपने बेटे के लिए बना लेना।
14 For thus says the Lord, The pitcher of meal shall not fail, and the cruse of oil shall not diminish, until the day that the Lord gives rain upon the earth.
क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का ख़ुदा ऐसा फ़रमाता है, उस दिन तक जब तक ख़ुदावन्द ज़मीन पर मेंह न बरसाए, न तो आटे का मटका खाली होगा और न तेल की कुप्पी में कमी होगी।”
15 And the woman went and did [so], and did eat, she, and he, and her children.
तब उसने जाकर एलियाह के कहने के मुताबिक़ किया, और यह और वह और उसका कुन्बा बहुत दिनों तक खाते रहे।
16 And the pitcher of meal failed not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by the hand of Eliu.
और ख़ुदावन्द के कलाम के मुताबिक़ जो उसने एलियाह की ज़रिए' फ़रमाया था, न तो आटे का मटका ख़ाली हुआ और न तेल की कुप्पी में कमी हुई।
17 And it came to pass afterward, that the son of the woman the mistress of the house was sick; and his sickness was very severe, until there was no breath left in him.
इन बातों के बाद उस 'औरत का बेटा, जो उस घर की मालिक थी, बीमार पड़ा और उसकी बीमारी ऐसी सख़्त हो गई कि उसमें दम बाक़ी न रहा।
18 And she said to Eliu, What have I to do with you, O man of God? have you come in to me to bring my sins to remembrance, and to kill my son?
तब वह एलियाह से कहने लगी, ऐ नबी, मुझे तुझ से क्या काम? तू मेरे पास आया है, कि मेरे गुनाह याद दिलाए और मेरे बेटे को मार दे!“
19 And Eliu said to the woman, Give me your son. And he took him out of her bosom, and took him up to the chamber in which he himself lodged, and laid him on the bed.
उसने उससे कहा, अपना बेटा मुझ को दे।” और वह उसे उसकी गोद से लेकर उसकी बालाखाने पर, जहाँ वह रहता था, ले गया और उसे अपने पलंग पर लिटाया।
20 And Eliu cried aloud, and said, Alas, O Lord, the witness of the widow with whom I sojourn, you have wrought evil [for her] in slaying her son.
और उसने ख़ुदावन्द से फ़रियाद की और कहा, “ऐ ख़ुदावन्द मेरे ख़ुदा! क्या तू ने इस बेवा पर भी, जिसके यहाँ मैं टिका हुआ हूँ, उसके बेटे को मार डालने से बला नाज़िल की?”
21 And he breathed on the child thrice, and called on the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, let, I pray you, the soul of this child return to him.
और उसने अपने आपको तीन बार उस लड़के पर पसार कर ख़ुदावन्द से फ़रियाद की और कहा, “ऐ ख़ुदावन्द मेरे ख़ुदा! मैं तेरी मिन्नत करता हूँ कि इस लड़के की जान इसमें फिर आ जाए।”
22 And it was so, and the child cried out,
और ख़ुदावन्द ने एलियाह की फ़रयाद सुनी औए लड़के की जान उसमें फिर आ गई और वह जी उठा।
23 and he brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and gave him to his mother; and Eliu said, See, your son lives.
तब एलियाह उस लड़के को उठाकर बालाखाने पर से नीचे घर के अन्दर ले गया, और उसे उसकी माँ के ज़िम्मे किया, और एलियाह ने कहा, “देख, तेरा बेटा ज़िन्दा है।”
24 And the woman said to Eliu, Behold, I know that you [are] a man of God, and the word of the Lord in your mouth [is] true.
तब उस 'औरत ने एलियाह से कहा, “अब मैं जान गई कि तू नबी है, और ख़ुदावन्द का जो कलाम तेरे मुँह में है वह सच है।”
