< Chronicles I 23 >
1 And David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel in his stead.
Na rĩrĩ, rĩrĩa Daudi aakũrire na agĩkorwo arĩ na mĩaka mĩingĩ-rĩ, agĩtua mũriũ Solomoni mũthamaki wa gũthamakĩra Isiraeli.
2 And he assembled all the chief men of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites.
Ningĩ agĩcookanĩrĩria atongoria othe a Isiraeli hamwe na athĩnjĩri-Ngai na Alawii.
3 And the Levites numbered [themselves] from thirty years old and upward; and their number by their polls amounted to thirty and eight thousand men.
Alawii arĩa maakinyĩtie mĩaka mĩrongo ĩtatũ kana makĩria magĩtarwo, nao arũme othe maarĩ 38,000.
4 Of the overseers over the works of the house of the Lord [there were] twenty-four thousand, and [there were] six thousand scribes and judges;
Daudi akiuga atĩrĩ, “Thĩinĩ wa aya, 24,000 nĩ marũgamagĩrĩre wĩra wa hekarũ ya Jehova, nao 6,000 matuĩke anene na atuithania a ciira.
5 and four thousand doorkeepers, and four thousand to praise the Lord with instruments which he made to praise the Lord.
Nao andũ 4,000 matuĩke arangĩri a ihingo, nao acio angĩ 4,000 matuĩke a kũgoocaga Jehova marĩ na inanda cia ũini iria heanĩte nĩ ũndũ wa wĩra ũcio kĩũmbe.”
6 And David divided them [into] daily courses, for the sons of Levi, for Gedson, Caath, and Merari.
Daudi nĩagayanirie Alawii acio ikundi kũringana na ariũ a Lawi na nĩo Gerishoni, na Kohathu, na Merari.
7 And for [the family of] Gedson, Edan, and Semei.
Ariũ a Gerishoni maarĩ: Ladani na Shimei.
8 The sons of Edan [were] Jeiel, the chief, and Zethan, and Joel, three.
Ariũ a Ladani maarĩ: Jehieli na nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao, na Zethamu, na Joeli; othe maarĩ atatũ.
9 The sons of Semei; Salomith, Jeiel, and Dan, three: these [were] the chiefs of the families of Edan.
Ariũ a Shimei maarĩ: Shelomothu, na Hazieli, na Harani, othe maarĩ atatũ. Acio nĩo maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba cia Ladani.
10 And to the sons of Semei, Jeth, and Ziza, and Joas, and Beria: these [were] the four sons of Semei.
Na ariũ a Shimei maarĩ: Jahathu, na Ziza, na Jeushu, na Beria. Acio nĩo maarĩ ariũ a Shimei; othe maarĩ ana.
11 And Jeth was the chief, and Ziza the second: and Joas and Beria did not multiply sons, and they became [only] one reckoning according to the house of their father.
Jahathu nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao, nake Ziza aarĩ mũnini wake, no Jeushu na Beria matiarĩ na ariũ aingĩ; nĩ ũndũ ũcio maatarirwo ta maarĩ a nyũmba ĩmwe, na makĩheo wĩra ũmwe.
12 The sons of Caath; Ambram, Isaar, Chebron, Oziel, four.
Ariũ a Kohathu maarĩ: Amuramu, na Iziharu, na Hebironi, na Uzieli: othe maarĩ ana.
13 The sons of Ambram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was appointed for the consecration of the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister and bless in his name for ever.
Ariũ a Amuramu maarĩ: Harũni na Musa. Harũni nĩamũrirwo hamwe na njiaro ciake nginya tene, nĩgeetha maamũrage indo iria theru mũno, na marutagĩre Jehova magongona, na mamũtungatagĩre, na marathimanage thĩinĩ wa rĩĩtwa rĩake nginya tene.
14 And [as for] Moses the man of God, his sons were reckoned to the tribe of Levi.
Ariũ a Musa, mũndũ wa Ngai, maataranĩirio na mũhĩrĩga wa Lawi.
15 The sons of Moses; Gersam, and Eliezer.
Ariũ a Musa maarĩ: Gerishomu na Eliezeri.
16 The sons of Gersam; Subael the chief.
Njiaro cia Gerishomu nĩ: Shebueli nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao.
17 And the sons of Eliezer were, Rabia the chief: and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rabia were very greatly multiplied.
Njiaro cia Eliezeri nĩ: Rehabia na nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao. Eliezeri ndaarĩ na ariũ angĩ, no ariũ a Rehabia maarĩ aingĩ mũno.
18 The sons of Isaar; Salomoth the chief.
Ariũ a Iziharu maarĩ: Shelomithu na nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao.
19 The sons of Chebron; Jeria the chief, Amaria the second, Jeziel the third, Jekemias the fourth.
Ariũ a Hebironi maarĩ: Jeria na nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao, na Amaria aarĩ wa keerĩ, na Jahazieli aarĩ wa gatatũ, na Jekameamu aarĩ wa kana.
20 The sons of Oziel; Micha the chief, and Isia the second.
Ariũ a Uzieli maarĩ: Mika na nĩwe warĩ mũtongoria wao, nake Ishia aarĩ mũnini wake.
21 The sons of Merari; Mooli, and Musi: the sons of Mooli; Eleazar, and Kis.
Ariũ a Merari maarĩ: Mahali na Mushi. Ariũ a Mahali maarĩ: Eleazaru na Kishu.
22 And Eleazar died, and he had no sons, but daughters: and the sons of Kis, their brethren, took them.
Eleazaru aakuire atarĩ na aanake; aarĩ o na airĩtu. Makĩhikio nĩ ariũ a mũrũ wa nyina na ithe wao Kishu.
23 The sons of Musi; Mooli, and Eder, and Jarimoth, three.
Ariũ a Mushi maarĩ: Mahali, na Ederi, na Jeremothu; othe maarĩ atatũ.
24 These [are] the sons of Levi according to the houses of their fathers; chiefs of their families according to their numbering, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, doing the works of service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
Acio nĩo maarĩ njiaro cia Lawi kũringana na nyũmba ciao: na nĩo maarĩ atongoria a nyũmba ciao ta ũrĩa marĩĩtwa mao maandĩkĩtwo, na maatarirwo mũndũ o mũndũ, ũguo nĩ kuuga aruti a wĩra arĩa maarĩ na ũkũrũ wa mĩaka mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ na makĩria, arĩa maatungataga hekarũ-inĩ ya Jehova.
25 For David said, The Lord God of Israel has given rest to his people, and has taken up his abode in Jerusalem for ever.
Nĩgũkorwo Daudi nĩoigĩte atĩrĩ, “Kuona atĩ Jehova Ngai wa Isiraeli nĩaheete andũ ake ũhurũko, na nĩokĩte gũtũũra Jerusalemu nginya tene-rĩ,
26 And the Levites bore not the tabernacle, and all the vessels of it for its service.
Alawii matigũcooka kũbatario nĩgũkuuaga hema ĩrĩa nyamũre kana kĩndũ o nakĩ kĩa iria ihũthagĩrwo cia gũtungata thĩinĩ wayo.”
27 For by the last words of David was the number of the Levites [taken] from twenty years old and upward.
Kũringana na ciugo cia Daudi cia mũthia, Alawii arĩa maarĩ na ũkũrũ wa mĩaka mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ kana makĩria nĩmatarirwo.
28 For he appointed them to wait on Aaron, to minister in the house of the Lord, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purification of all the holy things, and over the works of the service of the house of God;
Wĩra wa Alawii warĩ wa gũteithia njiaro cia Harũni ũtungata-inĩ wa hekarũ ya Jehova ta ũũ: kũrũgamĩrĩra nja cia hekarũ na tũnyũmba twa ithaku-inĩ, na gũtherithia indo iria nyamũre, na kũruta mawĩra marĩa mangĩ thĩinĩ wa nyũmba ya Ngai.
29 and for the show-bread, and for the fine flour of the meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for the fried cake, and for the dough, and for every measure;
Nĩo maarĩ arũgamĩrĩri a mĩgate ĩrĩa yaigagwo metha-inĩ, na maruta ma mũtu wa ngano, na tũmĩgate tũrĩa tũtarĩ na ndawa ya kũimbia, na wĩra wa gũkanda na kũruga mĩgate, na mawĩra mothe ma gũthima ũingĩ na mũigana wa indo.
30 and to stand in the morning to praise and give thanks to the Lord, and so in the evening;
Ningĩ marũgamage o rũciinĩ gũcookeria Jehova ngaatho na kũmũgooca. Ningĩ magekaga ũguo o hwaĩ-inĩ,
31 and [to be] over all the whole burnt offerings that were offered up to the Lord on the sabbaths, and at the new moons, and at the feasts, by number, according to the order [given] to them, continually before the Lord.
na rĩrĩa rĩothe maruta ma njino mangĩarutĩirwo Jehova, mĩthenya ya Thabatũ, na ciathĩ cia Karũgamo ka Mweri, na ciathĩ iria ingĩ ciathanĩtwo. No nginya matungatage mbere ya Jehova mahinda mothe marĩ mũigana ũrĩa ũtuĩtwo, ningĩ na njĩra ĩrĩa maathĩtwo marutage nayo.
32 And they are to keep the charge of the tabernacle of witness, and the charge of the holy place, and the charges of the sons of Aaron their brethren, to minister in the house of the Lord.
Na nĩ ũndũ ũcio Alawii magĩthiĩ na mbere kũruta wĩra ũrĩa mehokeirwo wa Hema-ya-Gũtũnganwo, na wa Handũ-harĩa-Hatheru, matongoretio nĩ ariũ a ithe wao a rũciaro rwa Harũni, nĩ ũndũ wa ũtungata wa hekarũ ya Jehova.
