Chronicles I 10
1 Now the Philistines warred against Israel; and they fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gelbue.
೧ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅವರಿಂದ ಅಪಜಯಹೊಂದಿ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು.
2 And the Philistines pursued after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines struck Jonathan, and Aminadab, and Melchisue, sons of Saul.
೨ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡದೆ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ್ನೂ, ಅಬೀನಾದಾಬನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಲ್ಕೀಷೂವನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದರು.
3 And the battle prevailed against Saul, and the archers hit him with bows and arrows, and they were wounded of the bows.
೩ಸೌಲನಿದ್ದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಬಹು ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
4 And Saul said to his armor-bearer, Draw your sword, and pierce me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and mock me. But his armor-bearer would not, for he was greatly afraid: so Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
೪ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧ ಹೊರುವವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿವಿದು ಕೊಲ್ಲು, ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಈ ಜನರು ಬಂದು ನನಗೆ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿ ತಂದಾರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು ಹೆದರಿ ಹಿಂಜರಿದನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು ತಾನೇ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿದು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದನು.
5 And his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, and he also fell upon his sword.
೫ಸೌಲನು ಸತ್ತದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಆಯುಧ ಹೊರುವವನು ಕಂಡು ತಾನೂ ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತನು.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons on that day, and all his family died at the same time.
೬ಹೀಗೆ ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತರು.
7 And all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, and they left their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and lived in them.
೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸೋತು ಹೋದರು. ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸತ್ತರು ಎಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಬಂದು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು.
8 And it came to pass on the next [day] that the Philistines came to strip the slain, and they found Saul and his sons fallen on mount Gelbue.
೮ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸತ್ತವರ ಒಡವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತುಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
9 And they stripped him, and took his head, and his armor, and sent them into the land of the Philistines round about, to proclaim the glad tidings to their idols, and to the people.
೯ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನಿಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೂ, ಜನರಿಗೂ ಜಯವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರು.
10 And they put their armor in the house of their god, and they put his head in the house of Dagon.
೧೦ಅವನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಗೋನನ ಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೇತುಹಾಕಿದರು.
11 And all the dwellers in Galaad heard of all that the Philistines had done to Saul and to Israel.
೧೧ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಏನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಯಾಬೇಷ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದವರಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು.
12 And all the mighty men rose up from Galaad, and they took the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabis, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabis, and fasted seven days.
೧೨ಆಗ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶೂರರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಸೌಲನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶವಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಬೇಷಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಅವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
13 So Saul died for his transgressions, wherein he transgressed against God, against the word of the Lord, forasmuch as he kept [it] not, because Saul enquired of a wizard to seek [counsel], and Samuel the prophet answered him:
೧೩ಸೌಲನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳದೆ ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸದೇ, ಭೂತ, ಪ್ರೇತಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ದೇವ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಂಥ ಮರಣವಾಯಿತು.
14 and he sought not the Lord: so he killed him, and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
೧೪ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
