< Titus 1 >
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Saa nhoma yi fi Onyankopɔn somfo ne Yesu Kristo somafo Paulo nkyɛn. Wɔpaw me na wɔsomaa me se memmɛtrɛw nnipa a Onyankopɔn ayi wɔn no gyidi mu no, na menkyerɛkyerɛ wɔn nokwasɛm a ɛde onyamesuro ba
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (aiōnios )
wɔ nkwa a enni awiei ho anidaso a Onyankopɔn a onni atoro no hyɛɛ yɛn ho bɔ ansa na ɔrefi wiase ase; (aiōnios )
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
na afei ne bere a ɛsɛ mu no, ɔfaa asɛnka a ɔno Nyankopɔn a ɔyɛ yɛn Agyenkwa no hyɛ me sɛ menka no so daa no adi.
4 To Titus, [mine] own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Mekyerɛw me ba Tito wɔ gyidi baako a yɛn nyinaa kura mu no mu: Adom ne asomdwoe a efi Agya Nyankopɔn ne Kristo Yesu, yɛn Agyenkwa no nka wo!
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
Migyaw wo Kreta sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wobɛtoto nneɛma a aka no pɛpɛɛpɛ na woayi mpanyimfo atuatua asafo a ɛwɔ kurow biara mu no ano.
6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
Kae mmara a mehyɛ maa wo no. Ɔpanyin yɛ obi a ne ho nni asɛm na ɔwɔ yere baako na ne mma yɛ agyidifo a wɔmmɔ ahohwi bra, na wɔnyɛ asoɔden nso.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
Ɛnsɛ sɛ mfomso biara ba ɔpanyin no ho, efisɛ Onyame adwuma hyɛ ne nsa. Ɛnsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ahomaso, anaa obi a ne bo nkyɛ fuw anaa ɔkɔwensani anaa basabasayɛfo anaa sikaniberefo.
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ obi a ɔpɛ ahɔhoyɛ na nʼani gye nea eye ho na nʼadwene mu da hɔ na ɔteɛ na ɔyɛ kronkron na ɔwɔ ahohyɛso.
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Ɛsɛ sɛ oso asɛm no mu dennen sɛnea wɔkyerɛɛ no no. Sɛ ɛba saa a, obetumi ahyɛ afoforo den wɔ saa nkyerɛkyerɛ pa no mu, na wada wɔn a wɔsɔre tia asɛm no mu no nso mfomso adi.
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Nnipa pii wɔ hɔ a wɔsɔre tia na wɔnam wɔn nkwaseasɛm so daadaa afoforo; ne titiriw no, wɔn a wofi twetiatwasom no mu.
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
Ɛsɛ sɛ wusiw wɔn nkyerɛkyerɛ no ano, efisɛ wɔnam wɔn nkyerɛkyerɛ bɔne no so ma ntoto ba mmusua mu, nam so de pɛ sika.
12 One of themselves, [even] a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians [are] alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
Mpo Kreta adiyifo no mu baako kae se, “Kretafo no yɛ atorofo, mmoa atirimɔdenfo ne akwadwofo adidifo.”
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Na asɛm a ɔkae no yɛ nokware. Esiane saa nti, ɛsɛ sɛ moka wɔn anim yiye sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wobenya gyidi pa,
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
na wɔantena ase amma twetiatwa atosɛm ne ɔhyɛ a efi nnipa a wɔapo nokware no.
15 Unto the pure all things [are] pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving [is] nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Biribiara yɛ kronkron ma wɔn a wɔyɛ kronkron no, nanso biribiara nyɛ kronkron mma wɔn a wɔn ho agu fi na wonni gyidi no, efisɛ wɔn adwene ne wɔn tiboa ho agu fi.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Wɔka se wonim Onyankopɔn, nanso wɔn nneyɛe nkyerɛ saa. Wɔyɛ nnipa a obiara tan wɔn, na wɔyɛ asoɔdenfo a wontumi nyɛ ade pa biara.
