Ruth 4
1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
১পরে বোয়স নগর-দ্বারে উঠে গিয়ে সেই জায়গায় বসলেন। আর দেখ, যে মুক্তিকর্তা জ্ঞাতির কথা বোয়স বলেছিলেন, সেই ব্যক্তি পথ দিয়ে আসছিল; তাতে বোয়স তাকে বললেন, “ওহে অমুক (দাদা), পথ ছেড়ে এই জায়গায় এসে বস,” তখন সে পথ ছেড়ে এসে বসল।
2 And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.
২পরে বোয়স নগরের দশ জন প্রাচীনকে নিয়ে বললেন, আপনারাও এই জায়গায় বসুন তাঁরা বসলেন।
3 And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which [was] our brother Elimelech’s:
৩তখন বোয়স ঐ মুক্তিকর্তা জ্ঞাতিকে বললেন, “আমাদের ভাই ইলীমেলকের যে জমি ছিল, তা মোয়াব দেশ থেকে আসা নয়মী বিক্রি করছেন।
4 And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy [it] before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem [it], redeem [it: ] but if thou wilt not redeem [it, then] tell me, that I may know: for [there is] none to redeem [it] beside thee; and I [am] after thee. And he said, I will redeem [it].
৪অতএব আমি তোমাকে এই কথা জানাতে স্থির করেছি; তুমি এই লোকদের সামনে ও আমার নিজের জাতের প্রাচীনবর্গের সামনে তা কিনে নাও। যদি তুমি মুক্ত করতে চাও, মুক্ত কর; কিন্তু যদি মুক্ত করতে না চাও, আমাকে বল, আমি জানতে চাই; কারণ তুমি মুক্ত করলে আর কেউ করতে পারে না; কিন্তু তোমার পরে আমি পারি।” সে বলল, “আমি মুক্ত করব।”
5 Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy [it] also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.
৫তখন বোয়স বললেন, “তুমি যে দিনের নয়মীর হাত থেকে জমি কিনবে, সেই দিনের মৃত ব্যক্তির অধিকারে তার নাম উদ্ধারের জন্য তার স্ত্রী মোয়াবীয়া রূত থেকেও তা কিনতে হবে।”
6 And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem [it] for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem [it].
৬তখন ঐ মুক্তিদাতা জ্ঞাতি বলল, “আমি আপনার জন্য তা মুক্ত করতে পারি না, করলে নিজের অধিকার নষ্ট করবে; আমার মুক্ত করবার বস্তু তুমি মুক্ত কর, কারণ আমি মুক্ত করতে পারিনা।
7 Now this [was the manner] in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave [it] to his neighbour: and this [was] a testimony in Israel.
৭মুক্তি ও বিনিময় বিষয়ের সব কথা স্থির করবার জন্য আগে ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে এইরকম রীতি ছিল; লোকে নিজের জুতো খুলে প্রতিবেশীকে দিত; এটা ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে সাক্ষ্যস্বরূপ হত।”
8 Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy [it] for thee. So he drew off his shoe.
৮অতএব সে মুক্তিদাতা জ্ঞাতি যখন বোয়সকে বলল, “তুমি নিজে তা কেনো, তখন সে নিজের জুতো খুলে দিল।”
9 And Boaz said unto the elders, and [unto] all the people, Ye [are] witnesses this day, that I have bought all that [was] Elimelech’s, and all that [was] Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of Naomi.
৯পরে বোয়স প্রাচীনদেরকে ও সকল লোককে বললেন, “আজ আপনার সাক্ষী হলেন, ইলীমেলকের যা যা ছিল এবং কিলিয়োনের ও মহলোনের যা যা ছিল, সে সমস্তই আমি নয়মীর হাত থেকে কিনলাম।
10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye [are] witnesses this day.
১০আর নিজের ভাইদের মধ্যে ও নিজের বাসস্থানের দ্বারে সেই মৃত ব্যক্তির নাম যেন উছিন্ন না হয়, এই জন্য সেই মৃত ব্যক্তির অধিকারে তার নাম উদ্ধারের জন্য আমি নিজের স্ত্রীরূপে মহলোনের স্ত্রী মোয়াবীয়া রূতকেও কিনলাম; আজ আপনারা সাক্ষী হলেন।”
11 And all the people that [were] in the gate, and the elders, said, [We are] witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Beth-lehem:
১১তাতে দরজায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা সমস্ত লোক ও প্রাচীনরা বললেন, “আমরা সাক্ষী হলাম। যে স্ত্রী তোমার কুলে এসেছে, সদাপ্রভু তাকে রাহেল ও লেয়ার মতো করুন, যে দুই জন (অর্থাৎ রাহেল ও লেয়ার মতো) (সদাপ্রভু যাকোবের মাধ্যমে বহু সন্তান দিয়েছেন) ইস্রায়েলের বংশ তৈরী করেছিলেন; আর ইফ্রাথায় তোমারই ঐশ্বর্য্য ও বৈৎলেহমে তোমার সুখ্যাতি হোক।
12 And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman.
১২সদাপ্রভু সেই যুবতীর গর্ভ থেকে যে ছেলে তোমাকে দেবেন, তা দিয়ে তামরের গর্ভজাত যিহূদার ছেলে পেরসের বংশের মতো তোমার বংশ হোক।”
13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
১৩পরে বোয়স রূতকে বিয়ে করলে তিনি তাঁর স্ত্রী হলেন এবং বোয়স তাঁর কাছে গেলে তিনি সদাপ্রভু থেকে গর্ভধারণশক্তি পেয়ে ছেলে প্রসব করলেন।
14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed [be] the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
১৪পরে স্ত্রীলোকেরা নয়মীকে বলল, “ধন্য সদাপ্রভু, তিনি আজ তোমাকে মুক্তিদাতা জ্ঞাতি থেকে বঞ্চিত করেননি; তাঁর নাম ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে বিখ্যাত হোক।
15 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of [thy] life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
১৫[এই বালকটি] তোমার প্রাণ উদ্ধার করবে ও বৃদ্ধাবস্থায় তোমার রক্ষণাবেক্ষণকারী হবে; কারণ যে তোমাকে ভালবাসে ও তোমার পক্ষে সাত ছেলে থেকেও সেরা, তোমার সেই ছেলের স্ত্রীই একে জন্ম দিয়েছে।”
16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
১৬তখন নয়মী বালকটিকে নিয়ে নিজের কোলে রাখল ও তার অভিভাবক হল।
17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he [is] the father of Jesse, the father of David.
১৭পরে নয়মীর এক ছেলে জন্মাল, এই বলে তার প্রতিবাসীরা তার নাম রাখল; তারা তার নাম ওবেদ রাখল। সে যিশয়ের বাবা, আর যিশয় দায়ূদের বাবা।
18 Now these [are] the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,
১৮পেরসের বংশাবলী এই।
19 And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab,
১৯পেরসের ছেলে হিষোণ; হিষোণের ছেলে রাম; রামের ছেলে অম্মীনাদব;
20 And Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
২০অম্মীনাদবের ছেলে নহশোন; নহশোনের ছেলে সল্-মোন;
21 And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
২১সল্-মোনের ছেলে বোয়স; বোয়সের ছেলে ওবেদ; ওবেদের ছেলে যিশয়;
22 And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
২২ও যিশয়ের ছেলে দায়ূদ এবং যিশয় দায়ূদের বাবা হল।
