Psalms 99

1 The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth [between] the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

Yahvé règne! Que les peuples tremblent. Il est assis sur un trône parmi les chérubins. Que la terre s'émeuve.

2 The LORD [is] great in Zion; and he [is] high above all the people.

Yahvé est grand en Sion. Il est élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; [for] it [is] holy.

Qu'ils louent ton nom grand et redoutable. Il est saint!

4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

La force du roi aime aussi la justice. Vous établissez l'équité. Tu exécutes la justice et la droiture en Jacob.

5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; [for] he [is] holy.

Exaltez Yahvé notre Dieu. Se prosterner devant son marchepied. Il est saint!

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.

Moïse et Aaron étaient parmi ses prêtres, Samuel était parmi ceux qui invoquent son nom. Ils invoquèrent Yahvé, et il leur répondit.

7 He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance [that] he gave them.

Il leur parla dans la colonne de nuée. Ils ont gardé ses témoignages, le statut qu'il leur a donné.

8 Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.

Tu leur as répondu: Yahvé, notre Dieu. Tu es un Dieu qui leur a pardonné, bien que vous vous soyez vengé de leurs actes.

9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God [is] holy.

Exaltez Yahvé, notre Dieu. Vénérer sur sa colline sacrée, car Yahvé, notre Dieu, est saint!
