< Psalms 92 >
1 A Psalm [or] Song for the sabbath day. [It is a] good [thing] to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is a good thing to give praise to the Lord, and to make melody to your name, O Most High;
2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
To make clear your mercy in the morning, and your unchanging faith every night;
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
On a ten-corded instrument, and on an instrument of music with a quiet sound.
4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad through your work; I will have joy in the works of your hands.
5 O LORD, how great are thy works! [and] thy thoughts are very deep.
O Lord, how great are your works! and your thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
A man without sense has no knowledge of this; and a foolish man may not take it in.
7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; [it is] that they shall be destroyed for ever:
When the sinners come up like the grass, and all the workers of evil do well for themselves, it is so that their end may be eternal destruction.
8 But thou, LORD, [art most] high for evermore.
But you, O Lord, are on high for ever.
9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
For see! your haters, O Lord, will be put to death; all the workers of evil will be put to flight;
10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like [the horn of] an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
But my horn is lifted up like the horn of the ox: the best oil is flowing on my head.
11 Mine eye also shall see [my desire] on mine enemies, [and] mine ears shall hear [my desire] of the wicked that rise up against me.
My eyes have seen trouble come on my haters; my ears have news of the fate of the evil-doers who have come up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
The good man will be like a tall tree in his strength; his growth will be as the wide-stretching trees of Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord will come up tall and strong in his gardens.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
They will give fruit even when they are old; they will be fertile and full of growth;
15 To shew that the LORD [is] upright: [he is] my rock, and [there is] no unrighteousness in him.
For a sign that the Lord is upright; he is my Rock, there is no deceit in him.
