Psalms 74
1 Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Instrução de Asafe: Deus, por que nos rejeitaste para sempre? [Por que] tua ira fumega contra as ovelhas do teu pasto?
2 Remember thy congregation, [which] thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, [which] thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Lembra-te do teu povo, que tu compraste desde a antiguidade; a tribo de tua herança, que resgataste; o monte Sião, em que habitaste.
3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; [even] all [that] the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
Percorre as ruínas duradouras, tudo que o inimigo destruiu no santuário.
4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns [for] signs.
Os teus inimigos rugiram no meio de tuas assembleias; puseram por sinais de vitória os símbolos deles.
5 [A man] was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
Eles eram como o que levantam machados contra os troncos das árvores.
6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
E agora, com machados e martelos, quebraram todas as obras entalhadas.
7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled [by casting down] the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
Puseram fogo no teu santuário; profanaram [levando] ao chão o lugar onde o teu nome habita.
8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
Disseram em seus corações: Nós os destruiremos por completo; serão queimadas todas as assembleias de Deus na terra.
9 We see not our signs: [there is] no more any prophet: neither [is there] among us any that knoweth how long.
Já não vemos os nossos sinais; já não há mais profeta; e ninguém entre nós sabe até quando será assim.
10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
Deus, até quando o adversário insultará? O inimigo blasfemará o teu nome para sempre?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck [it] out of thy bosom.
Por que está afastada a tua mão direita? Tira-a do teu peito!
12 For God [is] my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
Deus é o meu Rei desde a antiguidade; ele opera salvação no meio da terra.
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
Tu dividiste o mar com a tua força; quebraste as cabeças dos monstros nas águas.
14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, [and] gavest him [to be] meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Despedaçaste as cabeças do leviatã; e o deste como alimento ao povo do deserto.
15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.
Tu dividiste a fonte e o ribeiro; tu secaste os rios perenes.
16 The day [is] thine, the night also [is] thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.
A ti pertence o dia, a noite também é tua; tu preparaste a luz e o sol.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.
Tu estabeleceste todos os limites da terra; tu formaste o verão e o inverno.
18 Remember this, [that] the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and [that] the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.
Lembra-te disto: que o inimigo insultou ao SENHOR; e um povo tolo blasfemou o teu nome.
19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude [of the wicked: ] forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.
Não entregues a vida da tua pombinha para os animais selvagens; não te esqueças para sempre da vida dos teus pobres.
20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
Olha para o [teu] pacto, porque os lugares escuros da terra estão cheios de habitações violentas.
21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.
Não permitas que o oprimido volte humilhado; que o aflito e o necessitado louvem o teu nome.
22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.
Levanta-te, Deus; luta em favor de tua causa; lembra-te do insulto que o tolo faz a ti o dia todo.
23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
Não te esqueças da voz dos teus adversários; o barulho dos que se levantam contra ti sobe cada vez mais.
