< Psalms 73 >

1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.
Asaph ih Saam laa. Sithaw loe poekciim kami hoi Israelnawk nuiah hoih tangtang.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
Toe ka khok loe amthaek tom boeh; kang doethaih ahmuen angthuih tom boeh.
3 For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Poeksae kaminawk mah hnuk o ih tahamhoihaih to ka hnuk naah, amthu kaminawk to ka khit moeng boeh.
4 For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.
Nihcae loe duek naah patangkhang o ai; ngantui o moe, thacak o.
5 They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they plagued like [other] men.
Nihcae loe minawk kalah baktiah raihaih panoek o ai; minawk baktiah patang o ai.
6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.
To pongah amoekhaih to bungmu baktiah a oih o; pacaekthlaekhaih to khukbuen baktiah angkhuk o.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Hmuenmae hoi angraeng o pongah, nihcae ih mik loe tasa bangah tacawt dok; nihcae loe palung thung hoi poek ih hmuen pongah kamthlai ah koeh o.
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.
Nihcae mah kahoih ai pacaekthlaekhaih to pahnuih o thuih; amoekhaih lok apaeh o.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
Nihcae loe pakha hoiah vannawk to kasae thuih o moe, palai to long pum ah amkaeh o sak.
10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.
To pongah Sithaw mah angmah ih kaminawk to amlaemsak let moe, a paek ih tui to kamhah ah naek o.
11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
Nihcae mah, Kawbangmaw Sithaw mah panoek tih? Kasang koek ah kaom loe panoekhaih tawnh maw? tiah thuih o.
12 Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.
Khenah, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk loe hae tiah oh o; nihcae loe long nuiah khosak hoih o moe, angraeng o aep aep.
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.
16 When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;
Hae hmuen hae kawbangmaw ka panoek thaih han, tiah ka poek naah, kai hanah loe panoek han rai parai hmuen ah oh;
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] understood I their end.
hnukkhuem ah loe Sithaw ih hmuenciim thungah ka phak, to naah ni to hmuennawk boenghaih to ka panoek thai vop.
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
Tangtang thuih nahaeloe nang mah ni nihcae to kamnae ahmuen ah na suek moe, nihcae to amrohaih thungah na vah.
19 How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
Nihcae loe kawbangmaw, nawnetta thungah amro o halat! Hnukkhuem ah loe zitthok hmuen mah nihcae to paduek boih boeh.
20 As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
Kami mah angthawk naah amang to poek baktih toengah, Aw Angraeng, nang thawk tahang naah, nihcae poekhaih to tiah doeh sah pae hmah.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
To tiah palung ka nat moe, ka poekhaih anghmang sut.
22 So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast holden [me] by my right hand.
24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire beside thee.
Nang ai ah loe van ah ka tawnh ih mi maw oh vop? Nang pacoengah loe long nuiah ka koeh ih mi doeh om ai.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
Khenah, nang hoi angthla kaminawk loe amro o boih tih; nang khae hoi amkhraeng moe, oep om ai ah khosah kaminawk loe nam rosak boih tih.
28 But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
