Psalms 71
1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
Des fils de Jonadab et des premiers captifs.
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
Délivrez-moi dans votre justice, et arrachez-moi à la persécution. Inclinez vers moi votre oreille, et sauvez-moi.
3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou [art] my rock and my fortress.
Soyez-moi un Dieu protecteur, et un lieu fortifié; afin que vous me sauviez; Parce que c’est vous qui êtes mon ferme appui et mon refuge.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Mon Dieu, arrachez-moi de la main d’un pécheur, d’un homme agissant contre la loi et inique;
5 For thou [art] my hope, O Lord GOD: [thou art] my trust from my youth.
Parce que c’est vous qui êtes ma patience, Seigneur; Seigneur, mon espérance depuis ma jeunesse.
6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise [shall be] continually of thee.
Sur vous j’ai été appuyé à ma naissance: dès le sein de ma mère vous avez été mon protecteur. Vous avez toujours été l’objet de mes chants.
7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou [art] my strong refuge.
Je suis devenu comme un prodige pour la plupart; mais vous êtes mon aide puissant.
8 Let my mouth be filled [with] thy praise [and with] thy honour all the day.
Que ma bouche soit remplie de louange, afin que je chante votre gloire; tout le jour, votre grandeur.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Ne me rejetez pas au temps de ma vieillesse; lorsque ma force m’a manqué, ne m’abandonnez pas.
10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
Parce que mes ennemis ont parlé de moi, et ceux qui observaient mon âme ont tenu conseil ensemble,
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for [there is] none to deliver [him].
Disant: Dieu l’a délaissé, poursuivez-le, saisissez-le: parce qu’il n’est personne qui le délivre.
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
Dieu, ne vous éloignez pas de moi; mon Dieu, voyez à me secourir.
13 Let them be confounded [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered [with] reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
Qu’ils soient confondus, et qu’ils périssent, ceux qui disent du mal de mon âme: qu’ils soient couverts de confusion et de honte, ceux qui me cherchent des maux.
14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
Pour moi, toujours j’espérerai: j’ajouterai à toutes vos louanges.
15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness [and] thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers [thereof].
Ma bouche annoncera votre justice, tout le jour, et votre salut. Parce que je n’ai pas connu une science vaine,
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, [even] of thine only.
J’entrerai dans les puissances du Seigneur: Seigneur, je me souviendrai de votre justice seule.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
Ô Dieu, vous m’avez instruit dès ma jeunesse, et je publierai vos merveilles opérées jusqu’à ce jour,
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto [this] generation, [and] thy power to every one [that] is to come.
Et dans ma vieillesse et ma décrépitude, ô Dieu; ne me délaissez pas, jusqu’à ce que j’annonce votre bras à toute la génération qui doit venir;
19 Thy righteousness also, O God, [is] very high, who hast done great things: O God, who [is] like unto thee!
Et votre justice, ô Dieu, qui s’élèvent jusqu’aux cieux, et les grandes choses que vous avez faites: ô Dieu, qui est semblable à vous?
20 [Thou], which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Que vous m’avez montré de tribulations nombreuses et pénibles! mais revenant, vous m’avez rendu la vie, et vous m’avez ramené des abîmes de la terre.
21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
Vous avez multiplié votre magnificence; et revenant, vous m’avez consolé.
22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [even] thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Aussi moi je glorifierai en vous, sur des instruments de psaume, votre vérité: ô Dieu, je vous chanterai sur la harpe, vous qui êtes le saint d’Israël.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Mes lèvres exulteront, lorsque je vous chanterai, ainsi que mon âme que vous avez rachetée;
24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
Et ma langue aussi s’exercera tout le jour à chanter votre justice, alors que seront confondus et couverts de honte ceux qui me cherchent des maux.
