Psalms 56

1 To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

達味金詩，交與樂官。 天主，求你憐憫我，因為人要謀害我，時時處處有人欺壓我。

2 Mine enemies would daily swallow [me] up: for [they be] many that fight against me, O thou most High.

我的仇敵終日謀害我，攻擊我的人實在眾多。

3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

至高者！恐惶侵襲我的時日，我只有全心仰賴你。

4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

我全心倚賴天主，並歌頌祂的許諾；我決不怕血肉的人，對我要做什麼。

5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts [are] against me for evil.

他們終日破壞我的生活，千方百計地想加害於我；

6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

他們群集埋伏，窺伺我的行徑，他們等待時機，謀圖我的性命。

7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in [thine] anger cast down the people, O God.

天主，求你審判他們的罪行；求你在盛怒中將異民敉平。

8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book?

我多次流離失所，你都知悉，我的眼淚聚在你皮囊裏；豈不是也寫在你的書卷內？

9 When I cry [unto thee], then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God [is] for me.

我幾時呼號你，我的仇敵便退卻，從此我也全知道，天主常扶助我。

10 In God will I praise [his] word: in the LORD will I praise [his] word.

我全心倚賴天主，歌頌祂的許諾；

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

決不怕脆弱的人，對我要做什麼。

12 Thy vows [are] upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

天主，我必遵守向你所許的願，我必要向你償還頌謝的祭獻。

13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: [wilt] not [thou deliver] my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

因為你救我脫離死亡，使我的腳免於跌仆，使我能在活人的光明中，在天主的面前行走。
