Psalms 53

1 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David. The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: [there is] none that doeth good.

Disse o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Teem-se corrompido, e cometido abominável iniquidade: não há ninguém que faça o bem.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were [any] that did understand, that did seek God.

Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; [there is] none that doeth good, no, not one.

Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não, nem sequer um

4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people [as] they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

Acaso não tem conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade, os quais comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? eles não invocaram a Deus.

5 There were they in great fear, [where] no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth [against] thee: thou hast put [them] to shame, because God hath despised them.

Ali se acharam em grande temor, onde não havia temor, pois Deus espalhou os ossos daquele que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.

6 Oh that the salvation of Israel [were come] out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, [and] Israel shall be glad.

Oh! se já de Sião viera a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacob e se alegrará Israel
