< Psalms 49 >

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear this, all [ye] people; give ear, all [ye] inhabitants of the world:
Katoeng kruek zaehoikung hanah, Korah caanawk ih Saam laa. Nangcae boih, hae hae tahngai oh; long ah khosah kaminawk:
2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
kahnaem kasang, angraeng hoi kamtang kaminawk boih, nawnto tahngai oh.
3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart [shall be] of understanding.
Kai ih pakha loe palunghahaih lok to thui ueloe, ka palungthin mah panoek thaihaih to poek tih.
4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
Patahhaih lok bangah naa ka patueng moe, kathuk ruici lok to katoeng kruekhaih hoiah kamnoek ah ka thuih han.
5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, [when] the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Tipongah maw kasae aninawk to angzoh moe, kai aling koeh kaminawk ih zaehaih mah ang takui khoep naah ka zii tih?
6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
Nihcae loe angmacae ih hmuenmae to oep o moe, angraenghaih pongah amoek o cadoeh;
7 None [of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
angmacae nawkamyanawk to mi mah doeh akrang o thai ai, anih han Sithaw khaeah akranghaih hmuen doeh paek o thai ai:
8 (For the redemption of their soul [is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever: )
nihcae hinghaih akrang hanah paroeai atho nat, to pongah dungzan khoek to sung tih boeh:
9 That he should still live for ever, [and] not see corruption.
akrang nahaeloe kami loe qong ai ah, dungzan khoek to hing han oh.
10 For he seeth [that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Palungha kaminawk duekhaih loe kami boih mah hnuk; nihcae loe kamthu kami hoi tidoeh panoek ai kami baktiah ni anghmat o moe, minawk hanah ni a tawnh o ih hmuennawk to caeh o taak.
11 Their inward thought [is, that] their houses [shall continue] for ever, [and] their dwelling places to all generations; they call [their] lands after their own names.
A tawnh o ih imnawk loe dungzan khoek to cak tih, a oh o haih ahmuennawk doeh a caanawk dung khoek to cak poe tih, tiah a poek o pongah, longnawk to angmacae ih ahmin hoiah suek o.
12 Nevertheless man [being] in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
Toe kami loe lensawk cadoeh cak poe ai: kanghmaa kangtaa taw ih moi hoiah ni anghmong.
13 This their way [is] their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. (Selah)
Nihcae amthuhaih loklam loe to tiah oh: nihcae mah thuih o ih loknawk to a caanawk mah tahngai pae o. (Selah)
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. (Sheol h7585)
Nihcae loe tuu baktiah taprong ah angsong o, duekhaih mah nihcae to pacah tih; akhawnbang ah nihcae to katoeng kaminawk mah uk tih; nihcae ih krang loe taprong ah qong tih, taprong loe nihcae ohhaih ahmuen ah oh. (Sheol h7585)
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Toe ka pakhra loe taprong thacakhaih thung hoiah Sithaw mah akrang ueloe, angmah khaeah na caeh haih tih. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Kami loe angraeng moe, a im lensawkhaih hoiah qoeng tahang naah, zii hmah;
17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
A duek naah loe tita doeh sin mak ai, a lensawkhaih mah anih to patom tathuk mak ai.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and [men] will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
Anih hing naah loe, angmah hoi angmah to tahamhoih koek ah a poek: nang raeng naah loe, kaminawk mah nang to ang pakoeh o.
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
Toe anih loe ampanawk ih acaeng ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh tih; nihcae loe hinghaih to natuek naah doeh hnu o mak ai boeh.
20 Man [that is] in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts [that] perish.
Hmuenmae angraenghaih hoi koi, panoekhaih tawn ai kami loe, anghma angtaa taw ih moi hoiah ni anghmong.
