< Psalms 48 >
1 A Song [and] Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, [in] the mountain of his holiness.
Velik je Gospod in silno bodi hvaljen v mestu našega Boga, na gori njegove svetosti.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, [is] mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Lepa zaradi lege, radost celotne zemlje, je gora Sion na straneh severa, mesto vélikega Kralja.
3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
Bog je v njenih palačah razpoznan za zatočišče.
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
Kajti, glej, kralji so bili zbrani, skupaj so šli mimo.
5 They saw [it, and] so they marvelled; they were troubled, [and] hasted away.
Videli so to in tako so se čudili; bili so vznemirjeni in odhiteli.
6 Fear took hold upon them there, [and] pain, as of a woman in travail.
Tam sta jih prevzela strah in bolečina kakor žensko v porodnih mukah.
7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
Z vzhodnikom lomiš ladje iz Taršíša.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)
Kakor smo slišali, tako smo videli v mestu Gospoda nad bojevniki, v mestu svojega Boga. Bog ga bo utrdil na veke. (Sela)
9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
Premišljevali smo o tvoji ljubeči skrbnosti, oh Bog, v sredi tvojega templja.
10 According to thy name, O God, so [is] thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Glede na tvoje ime, oh Bog, taka je tvoja hvala do koncev zemlje. Tvoja desnica je polna pravičnosti.
11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
Naj se gora Sion veseli, naj bodo Judove hčere radostne zaradi tvojih sodb.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
Hodite okoli Siona in ga obhodite, štejte njegove stolpe.
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell [it] to the generation following.
Dobro označite njegove branike, opazujte njegove palače, da boste to lahko pripovedovali naslednjemu rodu.
14 For this God [is] our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death.
Kajti ta Bog je naš Bog na veke vekov. On bo naš vodnik celó do smrti.
